Left 4 Dead: Abandonment (Restart IC) ( )

OC is here, don't join if you're going to just leave three posts in: post933841.html#p933841
------------------------------

Tyler was tired. So much running from infected, jumping walls and just plain running. He wished they could catch a break, just once, and find a working vehicle that could take the more than ten feet. Someone in the group could hot wire it, he was sure. It was a simple enough thing to do, wasn't it? Either way, he was tired. He laid his head down on his jacket, which was folded up beneath his head. He thought about his sister, and wondered where she was. 'Please be safe, Alice.' His eyes began to drift shut. A safe room had finally rolled around after two days. He was sure one of his companions would wake him up when they needed to.

Danny stood up, watching Tyler sleep. He was in no mood to take a snooze, worrying that one of the undead would sneak up onto him while his eyes were closed. Danny then sat down, sighing, as he aimed his M4A1. He thought a bit about his family, who were probably eating one another. Danny peeled open the wrapper of a candy bar, as he slowly went to work on the hard slab of chocolate. He then glanced at Tyler, shrugging. "Well, nothing is gonna get me I guess." Danny then closed his eyes, going to sleep.

(I hope its okay to post i've made a profile in the OOC(
The dull moan of the 'things' Continued as Thomas ran, He looked round 'shit' he thought 'there's even more now!' He Dug his heels into the ground spinning around, he grabbed a ladder and started to climb up, 'An apartment building, YES!!' he thought again climbing in the window he held his knife close to his cheast and shouted "HELLO! ANYONE HERE? WELL ANYONE NORMAL IN HERE?",

Walking into one of the rooms he looked around, there was a radio walking over and turning on the radio he kept fliddling with the buttons trying to get a good signal, there was nothing the whole world was..Gon...just as he went to think it something broke trough the static, Survivors, 'where? when? How do i get there?' Questions ran trough his mind, He heard a crash coming from a room and then a dull moan, "CRAP" He shouted aloud "There must be one of those...those things in here!" Running into the Kitchen he began raking through drawers in the kitchen nothing useful, until he opened one drawer inside was a mini hand gun picking it up he ran, out of the kitchen and into the hall, and out the window back into the streets as quick as he could.

'okay' he thought again 'Lets go find these survivors.'

Lesley bolted into the back door of a abandoned house, her blue-grey eyes looking franticly around the kitchen she stood in.
She was absolutely sure this was a safe house; but of course you could never be sure...
Lesley's foot steps were silent as she started to sneak up the stairs of the house. Her right hand was placed on her stomach, getting ready to pull the gun out if need be.
She walked silently through the hall-way that lay out before her, opening doors to check that no monsters lay hiden in their depths...
She gasped quietly as she opened one particular door; 2 males were asleep on the floor.
She pulled out her gun, not sure who they were as she had not seen survivors like herself before.
Lesley's hand was steady as she pointed it towards one of the males, speaking quietly as she said in her soft voice, though demand was visible in it,
"Who are you?"

Tyler was rudely roused from his sleep by a voice, "Alice?" He asked groggily, sitting up as the world came into focus, "No. You're not Alice." He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and stretched, yawning as he did, "You lock the door behind you? That's the last thing we need after we took that sprint, eh, Danny?" The two of them had barely outrun a mob, narrowly avoiding a fate of being beaten for about twenty seconds before dying.

He motioned to the radio equipment behind him, "I'm the guy sending out radio broadcasts over the city. Don't you have a radio? That's like zombie movie survival tip numero uno. Either that, or never wander off alone. Whichever works. You hungry? We got food enough here to last a couple more days. After that, well, then it's back to the old grind." He said, standing up. He looked at his watch. It had been about three hours. He yawned again and made his way down the stairs and into the living room, where he popped a DVD into the player and just let it run. He didn't actually intend to watch it, but it was something to drown out the noises of the infected. Their moans, their retching, the growling, it began to grate on your nerves after a while of the same monotonous sounds. The DVD he had popped in was Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which was a funny movie, but he'd already watched it since they had gotten in here. In total, counting the time they slept, they had been here for a total of seven hours, "I'm Tyler by the way. Or Talon if you like. Whichever. That guy upstairs is Danny. Met him a few days ago. That reminds me, you haven't seen this girl, have you?" He pulled a photo of him and his sister out of his pocket and showed it to the newcomer.

Lesley put her gun down, placing it back by her stomach incase she needed it for later. Her blue-grey eyes widened slightly as she looked to the radio equipment; she had heard a couple of the messages, but she hadn't a radio of herself. Too heavy.
Her silent footsteps followed Tallon as he turned on the DVD...
Lesley reacted quickly, pressing the power button to 'Off' on the TV,
"What are you doing? They'll hear you!"
She said in her soft voice, realizing how much older both of the males were compared to her. She was 14.
Lesley took the photo her gave her, scrutinizing the girl carefully before whispering,
"I'm not absolutely positive, but I'm sure I've seen her before..."
She handed it back to him before Lesley said quietly, looking around the room, "My name is Lesley..."

Ryan ran through the streets. His shotgun held to his chest, his rifle strapped to his back and the pistols in his pocket. Most people would feel invinsible. He felt like he had no chance of even making it to the next safe house. Ever since his last teamate was smoked out of his reach he'd been trying to run on his own until he found more survivors.
Sadly he was to focused on a hunter that was jumbing around on rooftops above him he did'nt notice the caar right in front of him that he ran into. When the car alarm went off the horde that came after him was insane. Now all of the zombie were still chasing him.
He finally saw the safe house. He was ten steps away when he felt his foot get caught on the curb infront of the house. He fell to the ground and hit it hard. He could fell his arm pop (out of place). He got just enough time to turn around and see the horde come and suround him. His shotgun got thrown when he fell so he pulled out his pistols and started to shoot at each of the zombies.

Alright, so hordes of the infected, no smokes, a titanium baseball bat and damnit she forgot her shoes! Well, Fallon hadn't had time to really pic out her favorite pair of socks (of course they have skulls on them) and don her Doc Martins because there was some psychotic weeping witch crouched in the corner behind her sofa. She'd been having such a wonderful dream-stranded on a deserted island with Johnny Depp. Yes, wonderful...until something woke her. Something..huddled in the corner...there..just behind her so-

"HOLY SHIT!" she'd cried out and that of course pissed off the witch. Well, no, actually it was the air raid siren Fallon blew in her face that really did it. She flew from her apartment, down the eight, yes eight, flights of stairs and out into the open air. And of course that's where she stood now. She couldn't help but smirk. Why did she think she'd be safe in her apartment in the middle of a crowded city of the infected? She'd survived this long, she should have known it wouldn't last.

Fallon ducked into an alley and cursed as her naked feed padded on wet pavement. And god only knew what it was that she was stepping in. Making her way around her building, she spotted the park about 100 yards ahead. But the infected were everywhere. Luckily, the baseball field was riddled with discarded and forgotten sports equipment. And that's where she found her bat.

That was hours ago and somehow she'd made it through the city with only two instances. You see, she knew these alleys and side streets well and since the infected were pretty much running on rage and not brains, she had a sort of leg-up on those bastards. So, making her way to the safe house didn't take her long. She'd heard the broadcast days ago from that Travis, Tommy...Tyler!, yea Tyler fellow, but hadn't planned leaving the comfort of home. Well, looks like she'll be joining Sir Tyler and any other survivors who've made it here.

Arriving at the safe house, she glanced around. Interestingly enough she arrived when the infected must have been taking a smoke break (god she could kill for a smoke) as the street just behind the safe house was empty. And so she knocked on the door, titanium bat in hand and spoke, "Abandoned". Her voice was loud enough to be heard through the door, but not loud enough to attract any unwanted attention, should any infected be milling about within earshot. It was the code, right? Abandoned? Even as the world around her was falling apart (and she was shoeless) she stifled a twinge of laughter. A secret code...A Secret Society of Survivors.
Don't make me chase me.

Tyler looked seriously at Leslie as a car alarm went off and someone called for help, "You think they're still gonna hear the DVD player? Come on, inside, INSIDE!" He shouted, kicking the safe-house door open and throwing down their last Molotov. He'd siphoned the gas from a car parked near the last safe house, and stuffed a piece of an infect's shirt into the top. Finally, he lit this one with the stove that sat uselessly in the corner. Fire spread across the street, hardly an adequate cover against someone intelligent enough to go around the fire, but he had learned that the infected were dumber than a box of rocks on most occasions, so they just ran through, their flaming bodies hitting the dirt just off the porch. When the safe-room was secured and the four of them out of danger, he looked the new guy up and down before settling on his arm, "That's been dislocated. Gonna have to put it back into place. I can do it, or you can try it on your own. Choice is up to you. And you owe me a molly, kid."

He gazed out through the slot in the door as the fire began to die down. Most of the infected had cooked themselves alive, and only a few stragglers still lingered. He cocked one of his pistols and shot out through the doors, killing the few that still lived. And then, as if they didn't have enough visitors already, a knock came on the house's BACK door. He went over to that one and opened it, chuckling slightly at the "code word" from his broadcast, "You know, that code word bullshit was just for fun. If you're human, we'll take ya." He backed up and allowed the woman to enter, "Well ain't it just fuckin' Christmas up in here. I think we've got our happy little group here folks. For those of you who haven't been listening to the radio lately, my name is Tyler, or Talon, whichever is easier for you to yell when the horde is bearing down on us. I'm looking for my sister who's going North to Fort Collins. We are currently in Fort Garland. We've got quite a few hundred miles to cover before we even get close to a true safe zone. So. What's everyone got? Special skills that might help out in this hellish nightmare? I myself can make a wide variety of hand-held devices to elude or kill the horde, ranging from napalm and Molotov's, to pipe bombs and plastic explosives."

Fallon entered, cautiously. This Tyler fellow had a sense of humor and it eased her some. "Well, a woman has to be safe, ya know," she muttered under her breath. Upon entering, she eyed the others there with much skepticism. She generally wasn't fond of crowds (and two's a crowd in her opinion), but lately she'd been in much need of company. Doesn't mean she'll be friendly.

"Any of you got a smoke? I'm fucking dying for one," she asked aloud to those therein the safe house. She strutted across the room to the front end where she peeked outside to the flaming inferno engulfing the infected. "Damn," she breathed. This was all too unreal. It seemed not to long ago that she was spinning at the club, watching the patrons crowd the dancefloor in a much welcomed zombie ballet of sorts. Now, she'd really see a zombie ballet. And it wouldn't be welcomed. Not that the infected would prefer electronica, if they preferred anything at all. Besides obliteration.

Turning to Tyler now, she replied after a burst of an exhale. "All I have is this," she said, holding up the bat. "Oh, and I took a gun from a dead cop, but it's empty...of course." The gun she spoke of was jammed down into the waist of her black jeans. Luckily she'd slept in her clothes from the previous day: black jeans and a black tank instead of her usual undies. Her hair, dreaded into thick black and red falls, was pulled back into a tail behind her head. "But I know the alleys, side street and backroads like the back of my hand. That's how I made it here in one piece," she offered.

She eyed the others seriously,"Okay, seriously...anyone got a fuckin' smoke?"

Tyler watched the woman look for a cigarette, or so he assumed, "Sorry. Me and Danny didn't exactly prioritize on stocking up on smokes, what with the horde crawling up our asses and all. Anyway, as for knowing the city, that's fine and dandy for as long as we're here, but how many of you have traveled from her to Fort Collins? That's what we really need. A medic and a navigator. I mean, I've got a map and all, but its fairly easy to get turned around once you're out in the wild, with nothing but trees and fields around for miles. Does anyone have any medical medical training aside from those pathetic, "In case of Viral Outbreak" classes I'm sure we all took in the first days of this nightmare. CEDA, what can't you do?" He said, making sure all the doors and windows were still secure. It had become a sort of a nervous habit for him, but he hoped that he could rely on these people. Of course, the was himself, and Danny, two able bodied males in their mid twenties, two teenagers, and this woman who apparently desperately needed a smoke.

A thought crept into his head, "You know, actually, I think there's a pack of cigarettes in one of the drawers in the kitchen. There are a few left, I think. Never been much of a smoker myself. Speaking of Smoker's, everybody heard my broadcast, right? The one dealing in all the specials I've seen so far? If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities, but I'm not going to promise anything. But before we start our little Q and A, has anyone seen this girl? She's with another group of survivors now, I think." He held up the photo for all of them to see and pleaded that someone had seen her safe and alive.

Thomas stood on the balcony looking down, there were millions still on the ground there moaning, Screaching, all trying to get at him, He cocked the gun and pointed down, firing 'BANG!!' He'd hit one in the cheast pretty good considering he'd never handled a fire arm before but it just staggered and continued its moaning, he decided to climb up on to a roof to look for a safe passage to the place he had heard of on the radio, he hoisted himself up onto the ladder and climbed up, looking past a window he saw one of the things, which he refused to belive were what they were eating someone, he realised in horror that whilst this thing was eating the woman she was still alive, her eyes focoused on Thomas's, He trew up and almost lost his balance, 'Fuck it.' He thought climbing back down, 'I'll make a run for it, I can make it!!' He jumped off the balcony rolling on the ground, as luck would have it he landed in a clear path no 'things' there, 'well lucky me!' the things saw him and he ran, the safe house was'nt far from where he was, just a few blocks he could make it, well so he hoped

As he neared the safe house he grinned to himself, the chared remains of a vehicle and some of the creatures lay on and around the ground, he could hear voices, More than that HUMAN voices, he Laughed slighty to himself, 'I'm safe' he thought "HEEEY!" he screamed, 'Shit, Shut up Thomas' he turned around 'Phew, theres none of them here.' He laughed and walked over to the door knocking on it, "Open up please!! Let me in!!" He thought he was safe untill he heard another dull moan, turning around there were 2 and get this a HALF of those Things following him, yes two and a half, there was a half of something that was once a human person dragging its self along the ground its spine Dragging behind it, He retched and knocked on the door harder "COME ON PLEASE!!" He cocked his gun and pointed, 'The radio said aim for the head.' BANG! one Down, BANG Two down, BANG, BANG The last one dead, he exhailed, Looking around nervously waiting on the door to open.

((OC They're like the people in 28 days later, not zombies. Just so you know.))

Tyler pushed the door open and looked out, noticing another man. Well, at least that would be another guy. He smelled like puke though, "Well, you smell like roses. Come on in and join the merry band of survivors. We're getting out of here as soon as everyone gets ready." He went back up the stairs and shook Danny, "Hey, Dan. Someone actually heard the broadcasts. Got a freakin' convention going on down there."

(OOC: Meh there basically the same things arn't they? XD, But anywho!!)

Thomas Slumped against a wall, sighing heavily, He looked up smiling a little dropping a bag with provisions on the ground stuff that he'd collected whilst living on the streets and stuff he'd nicked mainly alcohol, Chocolate, Chips (Chrisps) And Cookies, Matches, Lighters and a few Ciggy's He looked up a and looked at Tyler, his small smile turned into a frown as he looked around, "Just what the FUCK, Are those things?" He Zipped his bag open pulling out a can of alcohol Pulling the ring pool and taking a drink.

He looked up "You want a can? Living on the streets you need a drink, whenever you can get one!" He sighed and looked up so many questions spinning round in his head, So he asked a few of the main ones, "So like i said what are those things? Where Exactly am i? What provisions do you have? What's your plan??" He took a deep breath.

"Jesus, calm down. Christ, gimme a second to answer, will ya? Alright, I'll go in order. One: Those would be infected. They are people who got hopped up on some disease, and now we're all living in living hell. Since you're still sane, I would assume you are immune, much like the rest of us. If you want more information, just go into the bathroom and turn on your radio to channel 98.7. Hijacked the frequency and have been running a constant loop message pretty much explaining all of this. Second: No. I don't want a can. I need my head as clear possible, and so do all of you. So no alcohol from now on, alright. I don't give a rats ass about how it "calms your nerves" or what not. The last idiots I ran with who drank nearly got all of us, including my sister, killed. Thirdly: You are currently in a safe house on the main street of Fort Garland, a small town in Colorado. Fourth: In the line of provisions, we have guns, food enough to feed us for a few days, some bottled water, and some basic ingredients to some very volatile concoctions. Finally, my plan is to head North, to the safe zone in Fort Collins. I've got a map, but its kinda tough navigating in the middle of a field. That's where my sister is headed, so I intend to follow. Any more questions?" Tyler said, taking a drink from a soda.

Well I don't really wanna know the Details!" he took a swig of his Drink, Then Going to the toilet tipping it out and the rest "There warm!" He pulled out a Cig putting it in his mouth lighting it "I have Few provisions some Chips, Chocolate, Some tins of food a knife and my Hand gun!" He grimaced "So would anyone like to tell there story of what happened after this Virus? started? 'Cause I'm Sure as Hell Bored, And we need to do Summit to pass the time! At the mention of there being a pack of smokes in a drawer, Fallon flung herself at said decorative item and therein was...tada! A full pack of smokes. As it was her custom to always have a lighter handy, her hand dove into her right pocket and produced that glorious lighter. Tearing into the pack, she shoved the butt end of a cigarette into her mouth, flicked the light and baboom! Glorious nicotine. "Ahhhhhhhh..." she sighed upon exhaling the toxic smoke and shoved the lighter and pack into her pocket.

Leaning against the wall, she eyed Tyler a moment. "Well, I mentioned my knowledge of the streets and city and such because I figured the alleys and back roads to be the safest route out of the city. They seem to be sticking to main roads and highways. I only ran into a couple on the back roads." She shrugged. "As for outside the city limits, well I'll not be much help there."

Wow. This new guy, Thomas didn't shut up. So many questions...well who wouldn't ask questions, but for shit's sake, let the man Tyler at least answer one or two. Everything Tyler said to the newcomer was already known to Fallon, as she'd heard the broadcast over and over for days. And then the newcomer lit a smoke. "Oh, yea...that figures," she muttered beneath her breath and snorted.

With cigarette pressed between pointing and middle finger, she saluted a wave to the newcomer and eyed both he and the others in the room. "Name's Fallon," she offered. To Tyler now, "Oh, by the way....ammo?" she asked, motioning toward the gun at her hip.

"I'm Tyler Marks, and I know what you mean. I had the DVD player going a few seconds ago, but someone went and turned it off." He cast a glance at Leslie for a minute, but went back to Thomas, "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. Everyone should rest up a bit before we get out of here. There are some extra clothes upstairs, in case any of you want to take something with you." With that, he sat on the couch, his Mac 10 sitting in his lap. He rested his head on the side of the couch and flicked on the TV, where as the DVD player had been going the whole time.

"What?" Tyler asked, before remembering that her handgun was empty, "Oh, right. Ammo is in the can on the kitchen table. Got ammo for just about everything you can think of. I think there are even a few BB gun pellets in there." He said, watching the television, which was now on the scene with King Arthur and the Black Knight. Classic, "There are guns in the closet, for those of you without one, or want something bigger. It's not much, just a few pump shotties and some Mac 10's, but it's better than a shitty pistol. There are some gun stores along the way, I think, so we can scope them out for supplies. Tell me at least one of you has actually shot a gun before." He said, wondering why he hadn't thought to ask that question before now, "If not, I can set up some targets in the basement and let you go wild with the pellet guns. Found those in the kids rooms upstairs. I can teach you how to use handguns and machine pistols like the Mac 10, but I've only ever used a rifle once, and that was on a hunting trip. Of course, how hard can it be to point and shoot?"

She looked to Tyler as he cast a glance at her, before she looked away once more. In Lesley's oppinion, quite was the safest. Be dead quite or might as well be flat out dead...
Her blue-grey eyes looked aroudn the room for a moment as she said her name in her soft voice,
"Lesley..."
At 14, she must have been the youngest one there. Everyone aroudn ehr looked atleast 20...
Lesley spoke as she looked to Fallon, though she asked everyone in the safe-house,
"How many weapons do each of you have?"
She was curious, that was all...

Tyler yawned from the couch and held up his Mac 10, "Just this, a .45, and a Machete. Nothing too powerful, but I can make us some grenades if we come across the ingredients I'm missing. Napalm is always a fun one. I'm just glad we have something to do here; the last safe house I was in had no electronics at all. The quiet was thick enough to cut through. It drives you crazy after a while. Beside, they don't usually react to language and such. I mean, if you ran through the streets screaming like a loon, then yeah, they'd swarm you, but normal talking? They don't even seem to notice it. Plus, I had the TV on for about an hour when we first got here, and that's when the horde was crawling up our asses. After a while, they just get bored and go away. Of course, you can whack them over the head while they're trying to reach through the door, but even that gets boring eventually."

"As for drugs being the cause, no. It was a virus built to...you know what? Here. Just listen to my radio broadcast, and you'll not only hear what happened, but some survival tips. I've already got the radio set to repeat, I don't need to be doing it. For those of you who want to listen, go into the basement or the bathroom or something. I can't stand to hear my own voice coming out of that thing any more."
