Ever thought life was just too hard to handle? If you think you've got it bad, just wait until these guys tell their story. Currently living in the middle of New York City, Geir the Valkyrie, his roommates, and supernatural neighbors try to live their lives as normal as possible considering their extra-special personalities. Its a dramedy set in modern time with ancient themes... think "Three's Company" meets "Real World" meets folklore. Create a character and play along as these young 20-somethings try to figure out their role in the world while also having to deal with their own secrets and demons. One city, several possiblities! Are you brave enough to play?

I'm looking for a couple other people interested in taking a modern spin on ancient beings/deities living in a modern city. You can pick any sort of creature you like, but beware that if you choose something commonplace like a vampire or werewolf, I would like to see a lot more development in their story and personality. No "Twilight" or "Underworld" rip-offs please! Here's a couple staple rules worth considering...

1. No God-Modding
2. No Plain Janes, give your character some pizazz!
3. No Emo Edwards, don't make them the most depressing person to ever exist that spends the whole time in an angst-ridden k-hole.
4. Be creative and be original! This is a fairly new and different storyline, so I would like to see some thought put into characters.
5. Please post regularly! If there's one thing that gets on my nerves its when people sign up, but don't post as often as they should.

Personality: Geir is one of those people who you will find to be a bit confused about his own life. He wants to be nice and charming to everyone he meets, but often comes off as shy and a bit rude. He is very much the romantic in that he will go out of his way for that special someone he meets and is very hurt whenever they decide to break-up with him. Around close friends he loves to fill the void with humor that is both macabre and plain silly while maintaining his integrity to each individual. He believes highly in following through with promises and will never let a friend down if they need him.
Bio: His current way of thinking has come a long way from what he experienced early in his life. During the reign of his father, Odin, Geir had been raised as a warrior through and through, engaging in the most epic battles to do his father proud and to smite the enemy at every turn. He was honored countless times by his father and highly decorated to the point where it was almost certain he would ascend to the throne one day. That day, unfortunately, would never come as during a fateful battle, Geir made the biggest mistake of his life.

While out on patrol, he came across two warriors in the midst of fighting. One was clearly over-powering the other, who just happened to be dressed in his own country's armor. Geir, ever the noble and brave, stepped in and helped to vanquish his comrade's foe. When the enemy had dropped to the ground dead, it was then that an illusion had been lifted. Despite his want to see differently, Geir was standing over the corpse of his own cousin. He turned to see that the man he had saved, was none other than one of the enemy, a dark handsome man who Geir had the pleasure to get to know some years ago. Now it was this same man who had caused him to kill his own flesh and blood by way of illusion.

The after effects of the illusion and death were a disgracing by Odin, stripping Geir of all his glory and honors. To add insult to injury, Odin passed down an eternal decree for Geir to become forever a Valkyrie and to always carry the blood stain of his cousin over his heart for the rest of eternity. Perhaps the greatest loss, was the inability to join his comrades and family in Valahalla, and instead walk the Earth forever...

Other: Geir currently works at an antiques shop just a couple blocks from his apartment. The shop is filled with the wares that he has collected over the centuries, ensuring his comfortable living standards are always met.

Appearance: Joryn wears a black, leather fighting jacket and formal black pants that has two arm belts and thigh straps on his right side. He wears red gloves that do not cover the fingers. He has light blond hair and dark blue-green eyes. Under his jacket he wears only a tight black tee shirt and had a plain tattoo of a band around the upper part of his arm. His hair was no longer than the nape of his neck, and sometimes covered his eyes. His necklace is a tight, leather choker with an even cross, a symbol of what seems to be equality.

Personality: Cynical, short tempered, but never without a reason. Friendly, a passionate lover, a loyal friend. Smart, quick thinking, notices the small things. Artistic, poetic, a thinker. These can all be said of Joryn, but it depends on who you ask.
History: A gang leader of the past, a passive Hunter now. Moving to New York City after Western Canada. He has traveled a great deal and worked among the people of the daylight to amass a large sum of money that he is now, for the time being, retiring in NYC for a great many years.
He manages a bookstore that he opened all by himself about 45 minutes away from the hotel in the East Side, He has been a huge thinker over the last 8000 years, working as a tutor, librarian, poet, or anything to do with books, or stories.
He once, when he had first been turned, an introverted monster who killed for lust and hunger, now he has a more positive outlook toward his really long life. He works towards either helping community or the world if he can through different channels, trying to stay as legal as possible. He still must hunt for human blood, because the flesh and lifeblood of animals does nothing for him. He gets it from the blood bank when he can or clubs at night to find willing hosts for that sort of thing.
His Mistress, the one who changed him, still lives in Northern British Columbia, Canada. Having developed special relations to the town where she lives. He does like to send an email or two her way every once in a while, since at a few points in time they had worked together and have even been lovers.
Extra information: Excellent fist fighter, trained in Muay Thai and in Jujitsu.

Personality: Andromeda is a somewhat quiet girl, but she isn’t shy. She will say whatever she wants and no one can stop her from doing that. She used to be a very seductive young maiden of the sea, but just recently she decided she didn’t want to be like that anymore. She tends to be somewhat extroverted and sometimes can’t help but toy with people because it’s in her nature. She can be cruel at times when she feels like it since once before she did send sailors to their death. She has no problem hurting someone she knows, but once she gets to know you she will most likely never hurt you...or at least try not to hurt you.
Bio: Andromeda is one of the many sirens that were part of the water. She lived on the island Sirenum scopuli. As she grew up she came to learn that there were several different types of Sirens. There were the ones that had the body of a bird and the head of a human. There were the ones that looked human, but had bird wings. Then there were the kind that she was. She looked human, acted human, but could change her legs into fins much like that of mermaids. She was taught from little on that her job was to enchant sailors with her looks and her singing and then lead them to their death. This is what she did for the past 1000 years. Then one day while she and a few of her friends were out doing their job their home was attacked. The attackers killed everyone except for her and those who were out seducing men and leading them to their death. Realizing that if they were found then they too would be killed, they went their separate ways and began to live among the humans on land. That’s what she has been doing for the past 500 years.
Other: Over these 500 years Andromeda has learned how to play piano, violin, guitar, and many other instruments and, accompanied with her voice, she goes around to different restaurants and pretty much any place that will let her play her instrument and sing to make money.

Awesome job guys. Both of you are approved! Kudos to Hlanhalyer for putting that 'distinction' in there . A couple more and we can start up the storyline!
