I love to listen to music when I RP. In fact Adam Lambert is in my ears as we speak! I love his music and I think that he is amazing. I am the type of person who always has to have some type of background noise. =)

Yes, music is my life! x3
I'm always listening to different types of music, though. It always depends on my mood. As of now, I've been obsessed with all of these J-Pop songs.

Like those above, I'm always listening to music as well. It's not usually based on the roleplay, just whatever happens to be on at the time.

I listen to different genres, from classic rock and metal to trip hop and folk to alternative. I'm currently listening to Faust by Gorillaz. Actually, the song just changed, and now I'm listening to Foreigner. I've been into indie lately-- CocoRosie, Antony and the Johnsons, Lykke Li. But I also like Buckcherry, Tool and Led Zeppelin. My musical taste can't be classified with one genre, I listen to a bit of everything. Except for rap, r&b and pop, with a few exceptions.

I love pop, hip-hop, and alternative music^^ Though I don't listen to music while roleplaying, it distracts me and I can't think right.

I love listening to music whenever I'm writing, whether it be essays, posts or planning as it gives my ears something to listen to whilst my mind works away. I can't stand silence, it's really odd.

Often, I will listen to particular songs that I connect with particular characters/feelings or roleplays in general, so that I can stay in the mood; it's something I do whilst walking to work. I put my headphones in and play through potential scenarios as well possible responses to roleplays waiting on me. Of course, this leads to me getting disappointed when something doesn't happen or making me feel like a total wierdo for matching a song to someone else's character, but it's how I like to do things.

So, yeah I use music as a muse and as background noise, depending on the song!
Gasmask: Alright. Either your CD is corrupted, which'd explain the crashing and odd stuffs.
Imehal: Or?
Gasmask: Your windows really, really, really hates icewind dale.

It seems that this thread is still alive even with my occasional super-long hiatuses! Woohoo! Still. Right now my musical taste is slowly shifting from Rock n' Roll & Metal to more Classical & Goth & even a little Religious. Helps fit the mood more when you have the Twenty Eight Weeks Later soundtrack pumping into your headset as you write up a post containing events which only the mind could possible unravel and enjoy. That and of course, Zombies in real life would be terrifying. I couldn't possible want Zombies in real life. Unless they were undead Rockers. In which case, rock on!
I only teach those willing to learn.

I also get into character easier with music playing, as well as the fact it motivates me. I wrote my second-best ever death scene listening to Franklin and My Heart (Paramore), together they are about nine minutes long and I wrote 2,500 words in that time! Then I read it back and made myself cry.

However, my best death scene was in the middle of the night with no music at all. How inconclusive.

I love listening to music, though, and it does help me write and roleplay. However, if I start singing, everything falls apart. Can't sing and type, huh?
It is truly a blight upon the aptitude of the prosing populace that a thesaurus and certificate of poets' rights have alas never yet enriched their insipid opus...

...But who am I to preach?

Absolutely yes!
It helps me get into that character's mind, to better understand how I would handle the given situation, if it was me.
I don't blast it- a nice, soft backround volume does the job fine. I find that my mind seems to process better with some sort of noise in the backround. :]
