Please ignore this, as this is the link to this thread. (I'm not particularly fond of having to go to Tinyurl and getting the link again and again...so yeah.) Loss and Eventual Reunion?

I'd like for everyone to please respect that. x.x Thank you. This is greatly appreciated.

This is, currently at the middle of the story. Previously, it was at the beginning. Now it is the middle. :3 I am working backwards. Crazy I know, but eh...to be honest, I could care less at this point. So, what I'd like to ask for help on, is everything from the way the story reads, to the way the story ends. Spelling, I can take care of. Grammar? Maybe. Ahaha, I'm not good with grammar and stuff like that.

I hope I don't make you all wince, since I'm trying to make it into a story, and not have it sound so much like a fucking RP.

Thanks to Eymber for pointing out a possible conflict within the story. I have taken care of that. The issue was: Millicent the Guardian and Millicent, the actual person, otherwise known as Mel.

Loss and Reunion

Milli-neko smiled, then spoke gently to him, “i must help Mel with the picture and then i shall join my sister.”

He could not help but ask, “Join where?” He looked confused, not understanding the context of the comment.

“Cave.” was her reply.

Nick nodded in understanding. “I'll most likely visit you two in Dreams. No doubt I will, though.” He scowled for a moment, then smiled a bit.

Millicent-neko spoke, “you won’t be able to i am afraid to say.”

He knew he hated not being close to them, then he sighed speaking, “Very well then.” He looked sad for a moment, as he watched the girls. “No doubt though, I'll try getting through.”

Milli-neko smiled sadly, as she watched him, eyes full of love and pain for herself, her sister as well as her Master, “i wish you well, with Caton... take care, Master.”

He nodded, looking up to her, seeing the pain in her eyes for herself and her sister, not realizing that she felt pain for him too as she looked down at him while he remained seated for a moment, then got up, “I wish you well, hun.”

Millicent nodded to him, then wandered off to find her sister, and the rest of her family and the other Guardians.

He nodded then went to Millicent-neko.

Nick could be seen catching her, then drawing her into his arms, hugging her tightly and kissing her deeply, passionately and with love, not wanting to let her go at all, but reluctantly lets them both go, as he whispered in Millicent-neko’s ear, “Good night, Millinesses.”

Mel made a sound at the actions and blinked, as she watched him and T-girl. She looked at T-girl, and spoke to him softly, knowing the neko’s hearing was much stronger than that of a human’s, as she walked away from them, “Wow... such sadness within T-girl.”

He broke in, watching T-girl walk away as well, “I know... I can sense it.” There was pain in his voice, and a tone of strain threading through his voice.

She continued again, after he broke in, the sound of tears clear in her voice, and tears flowing down her cheeks, “… so much that I end up crying.”

He finished with, “In fact... I am as well. I sensed... a feeling of finality.”

With reluctance clear in her voice, she spoke gently to him, “They both are planning on leaving you...”

Nick winced, then sighed softly as the words he heard from her sank in.

Mel continued, “They have felt what Caton felt since they are nekos their senses are a lot stronger then ours.”

He sighed deeply and closed his eyes as he listened. “I wish I had not sensed that sense of finality...”

Then quietly, almost inaudible, she continued, “T-girl had to leave, because she was making me cry so she couldn’t stay to help me with the picture. However, she told me to go ahead with finishing it up and giving it to you for a remembrance.”

“Oh gods.” He could feel the pain, intense pain flowing through his blood. Then he tried to block it out from T-girl and Millinesses, suspecting they already know, but trying nonetheless.

Almost as if she knew what he was doing, she answered his efforts, “They are Guardians silly they do already know.”

His only reply, “I do not want to lose them.”

Gently she spoke, trying to reassure him. “They will still be around. Just that they won’t be yours anymore.”

Her friend eyed Jonus in response to her comment.

She tried to reassure him, "He won’t do anything to them"

A soft mutter answered her comment, almost as if not believing what his friend said, but wasn't directed at her. "Christ..."

Mel spoke, oblivious to what her friend was doing, "Taika is healing her sister and herself..."

Nick curled in tight on himself, as he eyed the kitchen again, making no comment as he did so..

Almost worriedly, as she watched him then she asked, “What?”

Nick shook his head, “Nothing.”

She couldn’t help but eye him, “Knife?”

A nod was his reply to her question, “That... is how much pain I am in.”

A puzzled look answered his comments, then she asked, out of curiosity and concern. “From what, the blood or something else?”

Closing his eyes, he would speak quietly, his voice full of pain. “But... I will not do it. Oh gods... how much I want to do it.”

Almost as if she did not believe what she’d just heard, “What?”

He could not help but speak angrily, “You know fucking well enough. What does a knife do?”

Mel spoke quietly, “You do that... and Taika and the others won’t even talk to you... you probably wouldn’t become a guardian if you did that.”

He knew he would not do it for a few reasons... namely, the girls... as well as the love he has for them...and three, the promises he made.

Mel laughed, “Damn, there’s no me in that list... oh well!”

A soft smile, yet sad one at the same time answered her comment. “Sorry...you too as well. You know this as well as I do.”

Mel shook her head, “Nah, I’m not worthy enough.”

He closed his eyes, realizing his mistake in dealing with two of his most precious guardians. “Ahhh gods, I'm so sorry, T-girl, Millinesses.”

Almost too quietly, she whispered, “They are with their family.”

Slowly, reluctantly, he nodded. He didn’t particularly trust Jonus, and Jonus could probably say the same of him.

After a few moments of silence, she continued, “T is trying to help me with their brothers’ names but I don’t remember them…”

His pain-filled voice reached out to her ears, “They probably heard me though. Others hear emotions like that easily, if they're sensitive enough. Or felt easily, depending on how you sense and hear.” Then he curled in tighter on the bed. “I feel like such a fucking fool.”

“I lost contact with Milli-neko.” She informed him.

Nick began writing again. “This is...going to be the lowest and longest depression...I can tell. And...I don't think Caton will be able to help even with that.

“And I lost contact with T-girl.” She’d interrupt again.

A small smile graced his lips as he spoke, “Good...at least, for a while this is between us...”

She laughed, and then said, “No not really, I have an upset mom on my hands...”
He could only respond with, “Ugh.” Knowing how she had to deal with her family’s situation.

Then she jumped in again, “So what were their brothers’ names again?”

A thoughtful look on his face as she asked him the question, then he spoke slowly, as if unsure of his memory’s accuracy. “Kaitka, I think it is for one of the boys.”

Mel looked at him, tilting her head as she commented, “No one knew the other one. I think someone needed to give him a name...”

Almost at the same moment she spoke, a name swirled up in his mind, Keiro. It was almost as if he was supposed to give that name, and so he did. “I wonder if it’s Keiro? Good name, I'd say...” Then he shrugged, curious as to what would happen.

She nodded, considering the name before looking at the unnamed boy. “He had a crush on me. What was T-girl’s real name?”

Nick cursed his luck aloud, unaware that she was hearing him curse his luck.

Caught by surprise, she blurted, “What?”

He growled out, “I am given two of the most loveable girls... and I have to go and fuck it up! Christ... I hate that. I hate when I realize too late that I love them so deeply that it fucking hurts more than what I feel for Caton.”

He took a breath, then continued, “Figures, I am given people that I love... truly love and have them taken from me in such a cruel way... but then, I guess I deserve it... and such a perfect song... well, not quite perfect but the one I love listening to is really perfect.” He finished, finally, out of breath.

Mel tilted her head, as she listened to him rant, “What is it?”

His almost unhelpful reply came back to her, “I don't know it...” He shrugged, then continued, “But the song I love is... The Tannahill Weavers - The Sound of Taransay”

Mel sighed, then spoke, “Ah well, I’m finished with their avatar that’s never going to get used now.”

Nick was now in intense physical pain as his mind and body struggled to translate the emotional pain into physical pain to offset the strength of the pain.

She whispered, “Do you wish for their avatar?”

He whispered in reply to her question, “Oh yes... please.”

She nodded, then, “Um, okay how should I give it to you?”

He commented then, “I'll come to you in a bit.”

When he finally reached her, he hugged her tightly and closely. Even as he hugged her, he could already sense the link with Caton dimming.

Mel returned the hug, a look of confusion on her face as she too, felt the link dim.

After he hugged her, he answered her silent question, “Mainly because I'm forcing it to.”

She couldn’t help but ask, “Why?”

He looked at her, blue-green eyes glowing gently in the dim light, “Because I do not want her to feel that from me.”

She answered him, “I doubt anybody can feel anything from me and that’s a good thing...”

Curiosity made him ask, “Why, though? I can't feel you, that's for damn sure.”

Mel shook her head, “No, you’re feeling the girls.”

He was deeply happy that he still could, a sigh of relief blew through his lips, and “I do not want to lose that at all.”

Mel spoke to him, pulling him from his thoughts after he made his statement, “Tashia told me that she herself is going to close that up, so the girls can heal.”

He winced, then coughed softly then nodded, “I will not fight... however much I want to.”

A few moments later, her face clouded with confusion, blinking as she asked, “Because Tashia is looking after her kids? Or is it because of Caton?”

Nick spoke quietly shaking his head, his voice almost cracking as he spoke the reason why he did not try going after the girls. “No... because if you truly love them... you'll let them go, without fighting... and hope they'll return.”

“They are nekos, you should know how they are about sharing with others...besides themselves.”

Almost vaguely as he nodded, his voice sounded from deep his chest, low with a sound much like a purr, “Oh yes. I think... yes, it may very well already be...”

Mel shook her head before focusing her eyes on him, “Heh, even my baby phoenix doesn’t want to talk to you right now either.”

Confusion was clear on his face, as he heard her comment then asked, “Why?”

Then she continued, “She saw everything.”

END EDIT

Mel shook her head before letting her soft voice reach out to his ears with a plea."I need to go. Maybe tomorrow or later on today, after my nap. I might be able to talk to one or both of the girls... but who knows?"

A slow nod was her reply as he concentrated on the link...not the one between himself and the girl. Everyone created links. A friendship being created is a link. Love being created too, is a link. The link he concentrated on, was one he wanted to dim, to block the pain out as much as possible. She looked at him, then pondered why she felt pings when he said that, then commented on it."Quit pinging my shields. I can sense you pinging my shields." She gave him a look that warned him to not continue further.

"Sorry...you're not supposed to feel that." He then redirected his attention and concentrated on another link, one he wanted to dim. This link was between himself and another... "Obviously I'm fighting despite what I said."

A puzzled look answered his comment "Fighting?"

His reply was, as he looked at her, tilting his head before he spoke "To keep the link active. Between me and the girls."

She interrupted him again, "You're dealing with a family.. you're going to lose"

A soft sigh, then a nod, "I know..." He pulled back all of himself, including his subconscious. She looked at him with concern, knowing why he was doing it, but nodding in approval before gently speaking. "I was going to say, You're just going to get even more wounds if you kept it up."

He retorted "And I would say...I fucking deserve it!"

She watched him, eyes twinkling with an unreadable emotion. "No, not that you didn't."

Looking at her, "Eh." He shrugged, not really caring at that point.

"Because those nekos..."

He broke in again, this time stating it out loud, "I could care less now."

She gave him a look as she continued. "They are a lot more tougher than you think that they are." He nodded in response to her comment. He knew now, just how strong they were. Then her voice pulled him back to the present.

"They could kill you if you kept it up." She quietly stated, looking at him. His eyes widened, before he nodded. "Thanks for telling me that..." A soft sigh passed through his lips, thinking.

"You're..welcome."

Nick looked to her, smiling wanly "Though it would be nice..."

She shook her head, "No, you deserve some of that but not to be killed." The man nodded, looking at her as he spoke. "I suspect...I sense that one day...for some reason we'll be back together. Why I sense that, I don't know. I Hope it is not a false hope...not a trick."

For...I love you two, now and forevermore...

"Look at the pic I did. Look at how I did it" Again, he'd look closely, towards where she directed him to. "T-girl and Milli-neko did something while I was tagging it. They left a little something, something that pretty much says "We will return to "get this"

He could not help, but laugh softly at what she said. "Get this what?" His voice sounded puzzled, as he looked at the picture closely. "Whatever they left." was her reply, then she continued, clarifying. "I do not know, they didn't tell me." He laughed softly once more...smiling even though he was in tears. "The names..." She interrupted,"What about it?" She continued to watch his expression closely, gauging his reaction to the picture. "Mother: Tashia, Father: Jonus. Ahhh...I misread it...or did I read it right? Brothers: Kaitka and Keiro" He tilted head as he looked closely at the pic.

She laughed, seeing his expression as he looked more closely. "Man, 3D effect!"

He looked confused, then asked "What? I see no differences..." She patiently continued, despite his interruptions. "Of how I did the lettering."

He would scowl, for he could not tell what had been done to the picture. "What do you see that is different?" He asked.

Her reply was "But I'm talking about the two nekos. The girls did something to the pic.. so they have to return and get what they left, someting that they hold dear..."

Such intense love and pain...

He'd look closely at the picture once more, seeing that the picture had two beautiful nekos, one a white-furred neko with pink paws, pink hair and large, beautiful green eyes, looking up towards something, as if there was someone just out of view. The other was a brown neko, her back facing the viewer. She was brown-furred and brown-haired, with a brown tail. The caption on the picture commented on the identity of each. T-girl, for the pink neko, Millicent, (Milli for short) for the brown. Their brothers, Kaitka, and Keiro. Then, finally, their mother and father, Tashia and Jonus.

"It looks like as if...Milli's reaching into something...the box. Something's different about that. The picture on the red box looks suspiciously like a heart." His friend could not help but smile at his statement, listening as he continued. "Their way of telling me they'll come back for me..." He tilted his head and looked at her. "Is it?" She smiled slyly at him, then spoke "I don't know, maybe." His voice was full of hope, and love yet at the same time, so full of pain. "It feels like it is..."

She smiled, then nodded in response to his comments. "I guess we will see when the time is right." He'd scowl, then nod as he heard her statement, but oh, it was so damned difficult, keeping himself there, and not going after the girls to bring them back with him. It was so difficult, for he had to fight against the instinct to call out to them, and ask that they return to him. She looked towards the clock then growled at the time displayed on its face, realizing that it was late in the morning."3:52 A.M."

Hearing what she said, "I'm sorry." he interrupted her, as she spoke.

"Gee no wonder why im tired." And she looked it too, with dark black bags beneath her eyes, and a tired, almost bored look to her face.

I do not want to let you go...

He watched Mel for a moment before speaking. "The heart holds so much...love, what seems like a promise to return...for me or otherwise is unknown. Show me the original please?" He asked, quietly

"They did it before I started tagging their pic and they finished just before I saved it."

Quietly, his voice rang out as he looked closely at the picture that the girls had made for him. "Odd...there is no difference. Yet...I sense it." He knew there was. There was a feeling about the pic, completely different than what he felt from the original.

A nod, then a smile to him, as she spoke..."You will be able to see it.. when the time is right...at whatever it is and all they said was, "The only one that is able to see it would be you... and me... since they did it while within me."..."

He'd smile a bit then nod once more to her. "I know we'll meet again...I will wait for that day."

Millicent smiled then nodded, knowing that he would. "But I must go now, before I forget what sleep is." A soft smile and a laugh then he hugged her tightly, before letting her go. She hugged back then smiled to him. "I will speak with you later"

He nodded, hearing her voice as she spoke, as his stormy, dark and pain-filled, they were as he watched her. Her voice came, soft as the silken quilts "Night Nick" Quietly, almost too quietly, he spoke..."Night, Mel." Mel smiled, watching him, knowing his pain and love for the girls.

Nick waved to her as walked off to bed, smiling at her spiritual form. She turned, then waved back and turned back, walking again, into the sunset that was not a sunset, slowly fading with each step.

Each step you take away from me...makes my heart bleed, but I shall wait here for you, now and forevermore...for Love and Pain flows through my blood, like icy daggers...

OOC: Quidhala, Eymber didn't point those out, but I'm glad for you guys' help. x_x

Miyumi: There was a bit more before that post that I didn't add to. I suppose I should've added a little bit more to make it so that it makes sense, instead of leaving you all with confusedness.

Village Alchemist: Thanks for pointing that out. Edited it as well.

I've done my best editing...XD, so if you still see things that needs clarification, fixing, please point them out. x_x

I will be switching my writing work to OpenOffice to facilitate the checking of grammar and such. Hopefully that will help you guys a bit more.

I apologize if Eymber already pointed these things out.

The biggest thing you need to do is to break up the paragraphs of dialogue. Make a new paragraph when a different character is speaking. You can also create a new paragraph when the narration moves from one character to the other. Here is a sample that I tried to edit, but in some sections I wasn’t sure who was talking. Separation like this can tell the reader who is talking more easily, and with less repetition than he-said-she-said.
Mel shook her head before letting her soft voice reach out to his ears with a plea."I need to go. Maybe tomorrow or later on today, after my nap. I might be able to talk to one or both of the girls... but who knows?"

A slow nod was her reply as he concentrated on the link...not the one between himself and the girls. She looked at him, then pondered why she felt pings when he said that, then commented on it.

"Sorry...you're not supposed to feel that." He then redirected and concentrated on another link, one he wanted to dim and cut.

I went over just a little punctuation in that first paragraph that I thought needed it.

In this sentence,
A slow nod was her reply as he concentrated on the link...not the one between himself and the girls.

if he is replying to her with a nod, then it is his reply, not hers. Also, the link between him and the "girls" hasn't been talked about yet (Unless it was in a section before this. That is the problem with working backwards.) So saying, "... not the one between himself and the girls." doesn't tell us anything. It may just make the reader feel more confused.

In this section…
She looked at him, then pondered why she felt pings when he said that, then commented on it. "Sorry...you're not supposed to feel that." He then redirected and concentrated on another link, one he wanted to dim and cut. "Obviously I'm fighting despite what I said."

1. I don’t believe he had said anything yet, so she wouldn’t feel “pings” about what he said. Then again this conversation is a bit confusing.
2. Pings are usually refer to a sound. Did you mean “pins”, as in “pins and needles”?
3. “…, then commented on it.” Who commented on what? Mel about the pings? The phrasing of this sentence makes it difficult to understand if he or she comments on it. In a dialogue it would be better to have the character comment, rather stating that she did.

A lot of this type of confusion can be found, but I just wanted to give you a sample. I have more ideas for you, but it’s pointless to continue unless the dialogue is clarified.

***
If you need any clarification of what I said please tell me. I kind of rushed this out, so it might not be as clear or friendly as I would have liked.

Well, paragraphs thing was already taken care of. Please note, this isn't just a help to the readers, it is proper grammar to make a paragraph between each set of quotes when it is a new person speaking.

"Person one speaking" narration "person one speaking"

Is acceptable.

"Person one speaking" narration "Person two speaking"

is not.

I would also like to say:

Mel shook her head before letting her soft voice reach out to his ears with a plea."I need to go, maybe tomorrow or later on today after my "nap", I might be able to talk to one or both of the girls... but who knows?" A slow nod was her reply as he

I thought you said that Mel is the she? Wait, it says it there before she speaks. So how is she replying to his words when she did the talking?

I'll confess I didn't read farther than the first five sentences because of those two things. Things like that make stories quite confusing to me, and too much work to read and understand what is being said, leaving me unable to create the picture in my mind that I strive for when reading a fiction.

I will say this: you've interested me enough with this ending that I can't wait for you to edit it so I can read the rest of it without it being torture, since it is obviously going to be great once edited. I eagerly await the edits, and the next installment.

There's not much to say that hasn't already been covered. I will point out, however, that you describe the two nekos the exact same way twice; once in paragraph 3 and again in paragraph 5. The reader already knows what the nekos look like, so I don't see why this repetition is needed.

I will be updating the story as soon as I can.

However, my internet service is out. >_> <_<

So I'll have to come to the local library, upload it, download the edited copy and continue.

Okay. Update:

I am going to try having the internet service back up possibly by Wednesday or Thursday, depending on how the snail mail is.

Hopefully it's not too long after that. In any case, I will be uploading the story here until I have internet service at the house I live at.

YAY!! ::dances::

Well, you said it's okay to put this here instead of pm, so here you go. But I hold you responsible if this brings me a ton more work... Maybe I should start charging. =P

Who is nodding? Him? If so, you might change that one of two ways, to make it less confusing: A slow nod was his reply or A slow nod was the reply she received.

Of course, since you changed paragraphs, it looks like it's meant to be from his pov, so the first would be more appropriate. Then again, if this is right and the next bit of speech is hers as well, you might consider leaving out the change of paragraphs at this point... that's your choice though.

Everyone created links. A friendship being created is a link. Love being created too, is a link.

Only while it's created? What about while it's still active?

The link he concentrated on, was one he wanted to dim, to block the pain out as much as possible.

Punctuation: the first comma isn't necessary.

She looked at him, then pondered why she felt pings when he said that, then commented on it. "Quit pinging my shields. I can sense you pinging my shields." She gave him a look that warned him to not continue further.

I would suggest taking out the first "then". Try it, and see how it reads to you.

"Sorry...you're not supposed to feel that." He then redirected his attention and concentrated on another link, one he wanted to dim. This link was between himself and another... "Obviously I'm fighting despite what I said."

1. You like the word "then", don't you? That's probably the word you're going to have to watch to be sure you don't use it too often. Don't worry, most authors have that one word they constantly use, especially when they first begin writing. Mine changes every story.

2. Take another look at the second elipse (...). Is it really needed?

A puzzled look answered his comment "Fighting?"

Love it. "A puzzled look" instead of just "She was puzzled". Beautiful writing there, and good job on avoiding the passive voice. (using the to be verbs as the main verb of the sentence is the passive voice)

His reply was, as he looked at her, tilting his head before he spoke "To keep the link active. Between me and the girls."

First off, you need a comma after the last word before the quotes. Secondly, the way the commas are is kind of confusing. Commas surrounding text usually means something paranthetical, so you're supposed to just take that out with the commas and it flow. As it is now, if I follow that rule, it reads His reply was tilting his head before he spoke "To keep... Is that the effect you mean to have? If not, consider rewording.

She interrupted him again, "You're dealing with a family.. you're going to lose"

Is that an elipse, or did you hit the . twice? Could go either way. If the first, it must have three.

A soft sigh, then a nod, "I know..." He pulled back all of himself, including his subconscious. She looked at him with concern, knowing why he was doing it, but nodding in approval before gently speaking. "I was going to say, You're just going to get even more wounds if you kept it up."

First person speaking is him, second is her... that second quotation needs to be a new paragraph. You could also break it at She look at him with concern

He retorted "And I would say...I fucking deserve it!"

Again, you need a comma after retorted. Love the use of that word there though.

She watched him, eyes twinkling with an unreadable emotion. "No, not that you didn't."

Um... what she just said is incredibly confusing.

Looking at her, "Eh." He shrugged, not really caring at that point.

"Because those nekos..."

He broke in again, this time stating it out loud, "I could care less now."

ooooo

She gave him a look as she continued. "They are a lot more tougher than you think that they are." He nodded in response to her comment. He knew now, just how strong they were. Then her voice pulled him back to the present.

"They could kill you if you kept it up." She quietly stated, looking at him. His eyes widened, before he nodded. "Thanks for telling me that..." A soft sigh passed through his lips, thinking.

Move the paragraph break to after the quote at the beginning of the second paragraph. Because that is "her" "her" "him", right?

"You're..welcome."

Again, you've either got one too many or one too few. Also, there should be a space after any , . ; : ... closing parathesis, and closing quotation marks.

She shook her head, "No, you deserve some of that but not to be killed." The man nodded, looking at her as he spoke. "I suspect...I sense that one day...for some reason we'll be back together. Why I sense that, I don't know. I Hope it is not a false hope...not a trick."

Spaces, spaces, spaces. Also, extra capital letter on Hope. Or is that to emphasize?

Meh, that's enough for tonigh. Rest assured, I shall critique the rest later. For now, closing comments:

You are wonderful in your varried speech with all but using the word "then" a bit too much. But it was only three times, so it's probably just that it was all close together. Your descriptive words are amazing (though Eric would probably attribute that to rp), and so far it seems like a very interesting story. You need to work a bit on grammar, but you already knew that. I shall attempt to always tell you what the rule I'm correcting is. Of course, occasionally the rules of grammar can be ignored for emphasis, especially when it comes to speech, but it can never be ignored in a way that makes the story confusing.

Lastly, I should like to say that while I have been told I am rather good at this, by no means am I perfect. I may have missed something. I may have "corrected" something that is not an error. As the author, the last call is always yours. ESPECIALLY when I say something like "you may want to ___". If I can't write down the law of grammar that you've "broken", then don't feel guilty about telling that suggestion to go to hell. And if I can, but it was done for effect, then the same thing applies.

Congrats on getting my attention.

Thank you, Miyumi!

^_^ I DID say that you could do this here after all.

-Chuckles, then downloads the post by her to edit at home.- Man, this is a major pain in the butt...but I can tell you though, this story will be good, and I mean good.

And yes, the descriptions do come from RP, and not only that, but reading various books.

So my ability to use words and such comes from the combination of the two. :D

Oh, and the constant use of then?

That was offered by Microsoft Word. >_> <_< I had it do its spelling and grammar check.

So yeah...not too reliable, obviously, but it does, at the very least, cut down on the work for you guys.

Edit: Funny, I could've sworn I made that edit...the one that had to do with,

Mel shook her head before letting her soft voice reach out to his ears with a plea."I need to go. Maybe tomorrow or later on today, after my nap. I might be able to talk to one or both of the girls... but who knows?"

A slow nod was her reply as he concentrated on the link...not the one between himself and the girl.

I could've sworn I remember making the edit. I'll have to check more closely to make sure I don't upload the wrong version.

Okay. I finally managed to get here.

PMed Miyumi the additional part. Now I'm going to edit the part up here! :D XD!

The reason why I PMed it to her and not posted it publicly? It's um...slightly sexual, so I just wanted to keep my butt safe and not have this story taken off. To be honest, I'm not quite sure if it IS safe to post here...XD!

So, if you guys are 18 or above, and want a look at the part I PMed to her, please PM me. I will either PM it to you, or email it to you.

Sure enough, when I checked my edited version, Miyumi, some of the edits that you suggested were already made.

So, I'll post the edited version right here, so as not to confuse you guys and so you guys can see what changes were made, and what were added or deleted.

Enjoy!

Loss and Reunion
Mel shook her head before letting her soft voice reach out to his ears with a plea."I need to go. Maybe tomorrow or later on today, after my nap, I might be able to talk to one or both of the girls... but who knows?"

A slow nod was his reply as he concentrated on the link...not the one between himself and the girl. Everyone created links. A friendship being created is a link. Love being created too, is a link. As a link was created, everyone maintained it. How else would a relationship, even a friendly one, last? The link he concentrated on was one he wanted to dim, to block the pain out as much as possible.

She looked at him, pondered why she felt pings when he said that, then commented on it."Quit pinging at my shields. I can sense you pinging at my shields." She gave him a look that warned him to not continue further.

"Sorry...you're not supposed to feel that." His efforts to dim the link would be redirected to another link, the one he’d originally intended to concentrate on. This link was between him and another. "Obviously I'm fighting despite what I said."

A puzzled look answered his comment, "Fighting?"

His reply was, as he looked at her, tilting his head before he spoke, "To keep the link active. Between me and the girls, I don't want to have the link cut at all."

She interrupted him again, "You're dealing with a family... you're going to lose"

A soft sigh, then a nod, "I know..." He pulled back all of himself, including his subconscious.

She looked at him with concern, knowing why he was doing it, but nodding in approval before gently speaking. "I was going to say, you’re just going to get even more wounds if you kept it up."

He retorted, "And I would say...I fucking deserve it!"

She watched him, eyes twinkling with an unreadable emotion. "No, not that sort of punishment you didn't, you shouldn't have done that."

Looking at her, as she spoke, he could only make a pathetic comment. "Eh." He shrugged, not really caring at that point.

"Because those nekos..."

He broke in again, this time stating it out loud, "I could care less now."

She gave him a look as she continued. "They are a lot tougher than you think that they are."

He nodded in response to her comment. He knew now, just how strong they were.

Then her voice pulled him back to the present.

"They could kill you if you kept the pinging on the shields up." She quietly stated, looking at him.

His eyes widened, before he nodded. "Thanks for telling me that..." A soft sigh passed through his lips, thinking.
"You're... welcome."

Nick looked to her, smiling wanly "Though it would be nice..."

She shook her head, "No, you deserve some of that but not to be killed for pinging at my shields as well as hers."

The man nodded, looking at her as he spoke. "I suspect... I sense that one day... for some reason we'll be back together. Why I sense that, I don't know. I hope it is not a false hope... not a trick."

For...I love you two, now and forevermore...

"Look at the pic I did. Look at how I did it"

Again, he'd look closely, towards where she directed him to.

"T-girl and Milli-neko did something to it while I was tagging it. They left a little something, something that pretty much says, "We will return to "get this."

He could not help, but laugh softly at what she said. "Get this what?" His voice sounded puzzled, as he looked at the picture closely.

"Whatever they left." was her reply, and then she continued, clarifying. "I do not know, they didn't tell me."

He laughed softly once more...smiling even though he was in tears. "The names..." He commented, almost as if he was stabbing in the dark as to how the changes were made.

She interrupted, “What about it?" She continued to watch his expression closely, gauging his reaction to the picture.

He responded with, "Mother: Tashia, Father: Jonus, ahhh... I misread it... or did I read it right? Brothers: Kaitka and Keiro" He tilted his head as he looked closely at the pic.

She laughed, seeing his expression as he looked more closely. "Man, 3D effect!"

He looked confused, and then asked "What? I see no differences..."

She patiently continued, despite his interruptions. "Of how I did the lettering in the picture...”

He would scowl, for he could not tell what had been done to the picture. "What do you see that is different?" He asked.

Her reply was "But I'm talking about the two nekos. The girls did something to the pic... so they have to return and get what they left, something that they hold dear..."

T-girl, for the pink neko, Millicent, (Milli, or Milli-neko for short) for the brown neko. Their brothers, Kaitka, and Keiro. Then, finally, their mother and father, Tashia and Jonus.

"It looks like as if... Milli's reaching into something... the box. Something's different about that. The picture on the red box looks suspiciously like a heart." His friend could not help but smile at his statement, listening as he continued. "Their way of telling me they'll come back for me..." He tilted his head and looked at her. "Is it?"

She smiled slyly at him, then spoke "I don't know, maybe."

His voice was full of hope and love yet at the same time, so full of pain. "It feels like it is..."

She smiled, and then nodded in response to his comments. "I guess we will see when the time is right."

He'd scowl, and then nod as he heard her statement, but oh, it was so damned difficult, keeping himself there, and not going after the girls to bring them back with him.

"Gee, no wonder why I’m tired." And she looked it too, with dark black bags beneath her eyes, and a tired, almost bored look to her face.

I do not want to let you go...

He watched Mel for a moment before speaking. "The heart holds so much...love, what seems like a promise to return... for me or otherwise is unknown. Show me the original please?" He asked, quietly.

A nod, then a smile to him, as she spoke..."You will be able to see it... when the time is right at whatever time it is and all they said was, "The only ones that is able to see it would be you… and me, since they did it while within me."

He'd smile a bit then nod once more to her. "I know we'll meet again... I will wait for that day."

Millicent smiled then nodded, knowing that he would. "But I must go now, before I forget what sleep is." A soft smile and a laugh then he hugged her tightly, before letting her go. She hugged back then smiled to him. "I will speak with you later"

He nodded, hearing her voice as she spoke, as his stormy, dark and pain-filled eyes; they were as he watched her. Her voice came, soft as the silken quilts "Night, Nick"

Quietly, almost too quietly, he spoke..."Night, Mel." Mel smiled, watching him, knowing his pain and love for the girls.

Nick waved to her as walked off to bed, smiling at her spiritual form. She turned, then waved back and turned back, walking again, into the sunset that was not a sunset, slowly fading with each step.

Each step you take away from me...makes my heart bleed, but I shall wait here for you, now and forevermore... for Love and Pain flows through my blood, like icy daggers...

Locking the computer, then turning off the monitor to reduce the energy footprint, he sighed. “What a crazy day, losing my two Guardians like that.” He’d not been able to control himself. He did so hate losing control of himself, but fortunately, no one was there to see his usual calm, at least for himself, face become truly emotional. In his view, he expressed no emotions on his face, though he’d repeatedly been told by others that he looked angry, or depressed. It was always one of the two emotions, and that seemed oddly fitting. Yet, when he became truly aware of the girls, his expression did not change. But his feelings did change, as did his view of the world, which was dismal and dreary. He knew that if others were to have seen him, they would say that it was just words, the internet.

But he knew it wasn’t. Not with the way he felt, and saw. He had seen them many times, ever since he became aware of them and had felt them brush against him, or simply touch him. He knew the girls loved to keep him company, but the reason why they left still eluded him.

Who would’ve thought that they’d bring such happiness to me?

It was a short, almost ridiculously short few steps to his bed and slip in beneath the thick blankets. He would smile sadly as he lay there upon his bed, comfortable and warm, it was. It provided a false sense of security, a sense that all was right with the world when he knew well enough that it wasn’t. A soft sigh passed through his lips, as he muttered. “I really fucking hate letting them go. But…” He paused, thinking.

A realization seemed to come to him, or more accurately, an epiphany. “I wonder… is it because I’m a little too possessive?” He laughed softly; as he got the sense that he should know better when it came to that. “Okay well, more than a little possessive. But is that such a bad thing?” Sometimes, he wondered. He really did, and he had no answers.

Oh, how we men wish we could read your minds… and know what you truly desire, and what you wish of us.
But he could get it, if he so chose. This, he knew too. “I get the feeling that I am to figure out on my own how things work.” That statement was a true one, knowing that this was true the moment he said it. There were just some things that you knew without having to say it, but sometimes had to say it, just to make yourself hear it and know it for a fact.

An almost irritated sigh passed through his lips as he continued his thinking, “Mmm, well, if Life isn’t a progression of lessons, then what is?” That was a question that he suspected many had asked. He wondered then, his eyes growing heavy as he thought upon this, “If they got their answers… were they happy with it? Did they understand what the implications were?”

Finally, he was fast asleep, forced to sleep by his overactive mind and the weariness brought upon him by the ordeal.

I should've remembered. XD, sorry. I will switch back to XP a little later on today and upload moar.

As promised, an update!

Though, my update was delayed, since Comcast broke their word to me and I had to wait till now to update.

Remember though, this is me working backwards from the ending! Or at least, somewhere in the middle of the story! :D

Continuance of the story, BEFORE the ending.

“From what? The blood or something else?”

Closing his eyes, he’d speak quietly, his voice full of pain. “But... I will not do it. Oh gods... how much I want to do it.”

Almost as if she didn’t believe what she’d just heard, “What?”

He could not help but speak angrily, “You know fucking well enough. What does a knife do?”

Mel spoke quietly, “You do that.... and T and the others won’t even talk to you... you probably wouldn’t become a guardian if you did that.”

He didn’t particularly trust Jonus, and the same could probably be said of him by Jonus.

After a few moments of silence, she continued, “T is trying to help me with their brothers’ names but I don’t remember them…”

His pain-filled voice reached out to her ears, “They probably heard me though. Emotions like that are heard easily.

She laughed, and then said “No not really, I have an upset mom on my hands...”

Too, he could already sense the link with Caton dimming.

He was deeply happy that he still could, a sigh of relief blew through his lips, “I do not want to lose that at all.”

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
