To have faith, sometimes, is to stand alone. But faith is what sets apart humanity from the beasts of this earth. For to have faith is to possess hope, and that is a gift you can only take from yourself, for none possesses the power to take it. I bear hope, gladness, and joy for every moment of every day, that I have been given life and breath. If I would ease one man's burden, make one person smile or laugh, or leave one better off; then I have fulfilled my purpose. It is for this reason that I have faith.

Your brother and your sister have committed suicide on the same day. Everything has changed.
Sound like a typical roleplay? Don't give up! Read on. . .
You grew up in Lebanon, an Arab nation known for its large population of Christians (about 39%, compared to Egypt 10%). Your family was nominally Muslim, but only attended Mosque for Eid and sometimes for Jumaa service, and only occasionally prayed, maybe once a week on Friday for Jumaa. Your family left for America when you were twelve, and you were enrolled in Public School 243 in New York City, speaking Arabic and seven words in English.
You and your family applied for citizenship and it was granted. You are now 28, an American citizen, living near New Haven, Connecticut.
Your brother joined the ranks of Al Qaeda. He was captured in Afghanistan during the 2001 invasion and shipped to Guantanamo among the first of the new detainees, and held in Camp X-Ray. He was brutally interrogated and subjected to the "enhanced interrogation techniques" approved by various members of the Bush administration, including sleep deprivation, slamming into walls, and waterboarding. Still Jalal would not reveal anything to his interrogator, a harsh captain who spoke fluent Arabic.
On Thursday, April 23, 2009, Jalal Ulbarrakheti Saleeba committed suicide in his cell.
Meanwhile, your sister joined a small Christian cult group living in a hippie-like commune out in Utah, where the cult leader, Abraham, has dominated each of the women among his Brethren of Christ, taking up to fifty of them at a time as wives, as young as eleven or twelve, and keeping each of the babies. After three years with the Brethren of Christ, she sought help with an anti-cult group. Unfortunately, Abraham's soldiers found out, and shut her up in a dark basement, chained to a wall, only coming in for routine beatings and sermons.
On Thursday, April 23, 2009, Amira Eldumani Saleeba committed suicide in her prison.
Somehow, you have a chance to go back in time by two weeks, and speak to your brother and sister. . . Can you change their fate? Can you save them from death?
We will need roleplayers for the following characters: (Gender refers to character, not player)
1.) "You", either gender, 28 (choose Arabic-sounding name)
2.) Jalal Ulbarrakheti Saleeba, male, 26
3.) US Military Captain, either gender, 30+ (any nationality name except Japanese)
4.) Amira Eldumani Saleeba, female, 24
5.) Abraham, male, 39 (you can choose his real name, any 'white' sounding name)
If you'd like to suggest other characters to play, feel free.
Rules:
1.) Be literate. I expect at least three good-sized paragraphs with good spelling and grammar.
2.) Develop your characters well and consistently.
3.) Post at least once a week. If you can't post that often but really want to participate, PM me.
4.) Romance must be PG-13. So must swearing. Violence, other than sexual violence, may be "R", so long as it is realistic.
5.) Other than the obvious 'time-travelling', there are no fantastical powers, abilities, races/creatures, or objects.
6.) I am god. What I say goes, and I may change, remove, or add to these rules.
Character Sheet: *Some characters already have some information; you make up the rest
