Alright so bear with me this is my first go at running a RP. Also this has nothing to do with the plot of Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, but it takes place in the universe it sets. Also keep in mind not every thing will be exact IE the Arkids only the basics that I have seen so far, seeing how I only played a hour or two of the game, just decided that this would be a good Role Play for give me fans, for any inacuracys.
Lost Planet Universe: Humans forced off of Earth came to a planet known as "E.D.N III" E.D.N was very much a hostile planet. Cold, it was very cold to the point of instant freezing if you ventured out side for a short amount of time, with out a source of heat. the planet was covered by snow and there was no summer, all year freezing. But it was the best the Humans had now. The Colonization essentially went well with the constructions of hospitable homes.
This was all put to an end by Akrid. A race of aliens, native to E.D.N III. They too were immediately identified as a hostile specimen. Humans being a stubborn race, did not flee at the sight of these creatures who over whelmed many settlements killing hundreds, they fought. And discovered T-ENG Thermal Energy. They continued to fight and developed a heating pack powered by T-ENG, but it constantly needed to be fed more. Before any other advancements with T-ENG could happen the Humans were drawn back. They fled on the Ships that they came on, but only the rich were allowed on. The poor were left to the Arkid.
Later a additional colonization attempt was made, by the humans who fled. But this time they had means to combat the Arkid. Vital Suits or VS, T-ENG powered machines, piloted by man, with huge weapons mounted on the side. They were named so because they were so vital to combat the Arkid. Humanity had won, even though conditions still were hostile they were at least livable with a few exceptions.
Snow Pirates: They were the poor of the initial Colonization. Left alone to the Arkid many perished. But some banded together formed organizations of they're own. And managed to survive. They took to calling them selves Snow Pirates. They survived by hunting some Arkid for T-ENG for heat, and by staying hidden or on the move constantly.
Vital Suits: Not every one can simply hop into a VS and pilot it. It takes special training. These suits resemble a standing human in a way. It stands well above a mans head but not to large, they have armor plating almost all around. The pilot sits in a open seat with a large armor plate infront of him containing all the controls he needs to pilot. Some have the ability to jump up and hover for a time using a jet pack type device. The weaponry is mounted on the two 'Shoulders' of the VS, the weapons include a large Gatling Gun, a Rocket Launcher and a Large Version of a Shot gun firing huge slugs. It uses T-ENG for all power, and needs to be refueled regularly.
Arkids: Arkids are the native species to E.D.N III, they are a insectiod race That are hostile to all but each other. These things can range in a wide variety of shapes and size. From a Gigantic Worm like creature who swims deep below the snow. To a four legged spider looking Arkid who attacks with its huge front legs. Or flying Arkids with bone as sharp as a knife that propel them selves at you, OR a Beetle looking Arkid that curls itself into a ball and rolls towards you. These were just some examples, be creative when confronting a new Arkid not explained just be sure to describe it, it does not have to be in the game.
All Arkids have one weakness. The T-ENG organ. This normally glows a bright orange and is always exposed to the exterior. This is where all attacks should be directed.
Weapons: They do not have to be in the game but the basic weapons of the game include:
A FAMAS resembling Assault Rifle. It is not named in the game so lets call it the "APAR-01"
A SPAZ 12 resembling Shot Gun. Not named in the game so lets call it the "CQR-110"
A sniper rifle. Not named in the game so lets call it the "LRWS-304"
A Rocket Launcher. Not named in the game so lets call it the "ALAW-01"
Liberation: Liberartion is a Snow Pirate Orginization that players may choose to join. Liberations only goal is to stay alive, becuase they are low on supplies after a Arkid attack. But that goal may adapt depending on the players choices. Liberation is also one of the lucky Snow Pirate Organizations to have a Vital suit. Although it is not operational, because of a missing T-ENG core, basically the gas tank. They have temporally set up camp inside a abandoned warehouse almost completely buried in snow.
Crimson Dagger: Crimson Dagger is another Snow Pirate Orginization that players may choose to be a member of. Crimson Daggers only current goal is to find a hasbitable base of operations, one that Arkid cannot easily reach. Crimson Dagger does not have a VS. They currently have set up camp in a abandoned town called Terrince.
Alliance: Alliance is another Snow Pirate Orginization that players may choose to join. Alliance is currently trying to eliminate Arkid from a town, so that they may move in. They have three working VS's and a large base of operations inside a cliff not far off from the town.
NEVEC: Nevec is far from a Pirate Orginization, its goal is to eliminate all the Snow Pirates.NEVEC is very much a military orginization, with a abundance of VS's and they use High Tech weaponery, such as a T-ENG power rifle. Players may be a NEVEC but only a lower end soldier, or captain of a squad, being becuase I know nought NEVEC's true base and revealing so would be cutting into Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions Story.
Occupation: A players Occupation allows the player to do things others can't. They are:
VS Pilot: A Vital suit Pilot they have had training to pilot a VS.
VS Mechanic: A Vital Suit Mechanic knows his way in and out of a VS, although he cannot pilot well, he can at least make it move. They can also remove and place a weapon on a VS, but it takes two at least to lift the weapon once its off.
Combatant: A warrior at heart. They cannot pilot VS but are trained in most hand weapons. And have a special grappling device which allows them to reach higher vantage points.
Engineer: Different from a VS Mechanic in the way that they know universal knowledge of mechanical items, but not in depth to much with any. They are able to temporally repair a VS until they can get it to a VS mechanic to do the rest. Cannot pilot a VS
