The story is about a clumsy young man named Keitaro Urashima with an unparalleled amount of personal drive despite having horrible luck. After failing to get into Tokyo U (the college of his dreams), he visits his grandmother's hot springs only to discover it has been turned into a girls' dorm. After his grandmother gives him the deed to the building, he has the tough job of being landlord, studying to get into Tokyo U, and dealing with the girls living there, who never pass up an opportunity to humiliate him.

The story takes place in the Kanagawa Prefecture, and centers on 19-year old Keitaro Urashima, a young man desperately trying to be accepted into the prestigious Tokyo University in order to fulfill a childhood promise he made with a girl he now regards as the girl of his life. His obsessive pursuit of this dream is one of the few shining spots of optimism in his otherwise unlucky life. He becomes manager of the Hinata House (also known as Hinata Apartments), property of his family and now an all-girls' dormitory.

Keitaro's primary (and usually exclusive) interest is in Naru Narusegawa, though all the other girls have different sorts of affections for him (including close friend, a playmate, and non-threatening crush object). Keitaro and Naru's relationship is complicated by several girls falling for him, or girls Keitaro promised a future relationship with while he was younger.

shinobu walked in the front door after being out for the day getting groicies

" I'm back everyone" she selled out , but no one seamed to respond

Shinobu quickly went into the kitchen to store the food away

Kitsune sat on her bed, with her laptop on her lap.

She was working on her latest idea of a novel.

"Man, this is tiring.." she yawned.

She closed the laptop and set it aside.

She leaned back onto her bed and looked outside at the clear blue sky.

She sighed and got out into the kitchen.

"Shinobu, did you get any Pocky?"

"Whee! Shinobu-chan's back!" squealed the young, dark-skinned girl as she sprinted into the kitchen. Kaolla's bright, white-blond hair, tied back in a ponytail, bounced in the air as did her junior high sailor uniform. A set of dirt footprints followed her into the house from the back door, through which she had just entered.

Kaolla eagerly began rummaging through Shinobu's groceries, sniffing curiously at the brown paper bags. To her satisfaction, she fished out a cluster of perfectly ripe bananas, yellow with a sprinkling of brown spots. Kaolla pulled the skin off the banana easily, then greedily began packing the fruit into her face. She mumbled an unintelligible thank you to Shinobu with her mouth full.

Kitsune didn't wait for her reply but instead rummaged into the brown paper bags before finding her Pocky. She stuck one in her mouth and said, " I wonder where Naru went..,haven't seen her for awhile now.."

Kaolla paused momentarily in her banana-eating frenzy. Her face looked thoughtful for a minute, brow furrowed in concentration. Then, as if a lightbulb went on above her head, her expression brightened, and an evil grin was beginning to grow on her face. Kaolla dropped her bananas and rushed up to the depths of the Hinata Inn. Her mind was racing now, she had the perfect invention that Kitsune would probably appreciate. After retrieving it from her jungle of a room, she plopped herself back down to her former seat on the kitchen floor. A strange device was in her hands, vaguely resembling a black Nintendo DS.

"Ta-daaa! This is the ultimate Hinata Inn people tracker, brought to you by yours truly!" shouted Kaolla, waving the device in the air. With a flick of the side switch, the dual screens flickered on. "Want to try it?"

Shinobu just ignored that everyone was digging threw the bags , and quietly went to cleaning the floor

"Wah! Kaolla, you're a genius!" Kitsune cried, instantly grabbing the device from her hands. She turned it around and studied it. At the back was a small panel. Kitsune opened it, revealing an empty panel where batteries were supposed to be placed.
"Hey Kaolla, where are the batteries?" she asked plainly.

"um guy's perhaps she just went out for a little while , we haven't given her much time recently , perhaps we should just leave them alone"

Shinobu took the device from kaolla and held it close to her , and was blushing just a little bit

" ever scene they got engaged we have just bean pestering her , they just need time alone, you know"

Shinobu smiled slightly and tilted her head to the side before she went to the kitchen to start making dinner

"Naww..Shinobu. No need to be shy..you know you want to, "she giggled, putting an arm around her and pulling her back.

"We just need some batteries and we're all set!," Kitsune grinned evilly.

"want to?!?... no , we really shouldn't, it's not right."

Shinobu tried to escape but failed in her attempts. she soon gave in , hung her head and waited
