Kousei walked across Jingu Bridge, having just finished his volunteer work at the shrine. He wandered into Omotesando, intending to pick up some fast food before going home. Tomorrow was a weekend which meant he would travel to the city where his sacrifice was located. It was preposterous. After searching for so many years, the laws of probability dictated that he would have located his sacrifice by now. Unfortunately, it seemed that either his sacrifice was rather active and kept moving around, or it just meant that they were not destinied to meet yet. He paid for his takeaway before leaving for home. He never like eating outside.
"Kurama!" Kousei continued walking, he had probably heard wrongly. Suddenly, he felt arms being wrapped around him. He paused in his tracks, not wanting to trip and fall. There could be only one person doing this. "Kurama! Guess who?" Seriously, the girl was harder to shake off than a fly. He stood as still as a statue, and after some time she finally released him. "Kurama! Aren't you going to the cultural festival tomorrow?" He quickly continued walking, lengthening his stride and trying to lose her in the crowd. He ducked into a nearby shop, and watched as the girl walked by, frantically looking around for him. And that was when he saw it.
It was an ornate choker made from leather with intricate designs. It also had a pendant of something abstract on it. He looked around the place, and realised it was some sort of antique shop. He glanced at the price tag on the choker, and nearly had a heart attack. The price was too steep. Sighing, he was walking towards the door, when a crackly voice came from behind the counter.
"You like the choker?" He turned around from the door, squinting into the darkness that was the counter. "You can have it, for a price. Promise me a favour and it's yours." Kousei frowned at the counter, getting weird vibes from it. He quickly left the shop. What a shady business this shop practiced. Someone should report them to the authorities.
After a short jaunt, he was finally back at his apartment. It would be a long two hour journey by train towards his sacrifice's city tomorrow. As usual, he would have to turn in early tonight in order to get the earliest available train there.
