In the world of Carison there is a strange and powerful, but ultimately unfair magic. it is divided into two parts. The Good and the Evil. Both are part of the magic and they seem to be alive, controlling their followers as they see fit. It is a long standing fear of those who are not special that they would be turned into a Mask. The process is painful as a magical mask grows upon the skin of their face, becoming irremovable, or so it was thought at first. The masks that are grown on the faces of the unwilling people are different. Beautiful and inspiration while still showing the personality of the person under the mask. The masks of the evil side are darker and made to scare while still showing the original personality of person under the mask.
Those who are taken and turned are given a name, one that has staid with them since the magic first took someone and converted them. They are called Masks. The Masks are feared by all as they have powers and are stronger and faster then normal humans. The evil side kidnaps children to brainwash and convert them at a young age to make more loyal and powerful Masks. The good takes teenagers. Both sides can only take normal humans though. There is another kind of human that has been able to combat them since they were started. They are the special humans. Those who are special are stronger and faster then humans, though they have no powers.
For a long time only normal humans were able to be changed, but recently the magics have banded together and have made it so that the special humans are able to be changed. Those who are special fight the Masks, who often times no longer wish to be who they are, but are unable to change things. There is only one way to free a Mask, and that is with Love. Though Masks are forced to work for the side of magic that converted them, they are still capable of some free will and emotions. If a human loves a Mask, and the mask loves the human completely, then that Mask is freed, their mask either splitting in half or just falling off their face, depending on what kind of mask they have.
The first kind of mask is a half mask, covering only from the forehead to the nose, leaving the nostrils of the nose and the lips and chin exposed. The second kind is a full mask, only the eyes of the mask being visible.

Suri stood on a building looking down into the city. Her long red hair flowing around her under her black top hat. She had been converted by the side of evil, makeing her one of thoes feared. She narroed her green eyes lightly and looked down upon the city, bringing alarge gust of wind up to wrap around her and lower her to the ground. She had been sent on a mission. They needed new members.

Meru sat quietly in the midst of an old warehouse in the center of a large chamber - this place was also known as the factory. A very original name though it was called that because it is where all the magic occured. Sitting in the middle of the room as his feet were crossed under him as his eyes were closed or so they seemed under his white, red etched mask. No sound came from him as he lurked in a completely dark room with the only light shining upon him as he meditated.

The Technocrat operative walked silently through the cobblestone street, pausing frequently looking around as if for something lost to him. Then he saw it; The magic coming from the building was unmistakable in his sights. It glared a bright orange in his left eye, really a cleverly disguised implant, while his right eye saw the brick wall.
He clenched his left hand into a fist, and approached the drab metal door of the building, and inched his right towards the thigh-holster that carried his Las-Gun. Smiling politely as he walked close to the entrance, he said, "Nice night, eh?"
If the man did anything, his enemies would find him to be a quite worthy opponent. For under his bog-standard clothing and nano-molecularly alerted appearance, he was rife with implants that doubled his strength, endurance, and stamina, and almost quadrupled his reflex times and mental poweress.

Vivian stood in the darkness, gray, almost silver eyes looking out from the mask which could not be removed. It was a part of her now...it almost was her, in a way. But she naturally didn't complain, even being on the evil side. She wasn't high in rank, nor did she really wish to be, but it wasn't as though she was completely replaceable. She may not have been the most valuable asset to the side she worked for, but she wasn't the least valuable, either. A happy medium. She pulled her black jacket a little closer around her, zipping it up half-way but leaving the top half open, just having a black tank-top on underneath. Her pants were also black, and they were leather, slightly tight but not overly so. Her black boots made no sound as she stepped a little closer to the edge of the alley, looking out into the street.

Silver closed the door behind her as she exited the store, quickly. Her shift was now over, since she had been working for almost the whole night. How she hated that job. How she hated being a waitress. Silver disliked having to deal with the very unruly customers that would come at this time of night and tried to hit on her on the sly. She wished that her parents would actually get off of their asses and get a job. If they actually did this, she wouldn't have this job in the first place!
She gritted her teeth in annoyance when she began to walk down the sidewalk. She felt the cool breeze sweep through the city, which caused her to shiver. She pulled her baggy grey jacket around her small frame, trying to warm herself. The girl breathed a sigh of relief. Her emerald orbs glanced around at the unfamiliar faces that she passed by as she walked through the streets. Silver ran her hand through her obsidian mess of hair before a tired sigh escaped her lips.

He wore a three piece suit, black with a white shirt and black tie. What the passing observer could not see however, was that he carried a deadly assortment of weapons with him. Under his suit jacket, strapped to his back, were two deadly katanas, sheathed and ready for instant attacks. At the back of his pants, there was a custom holster designed to hold two .50 caliber Desert Eagle handguns. On his sides, under the jacket, there were two pads. Each pad held a variety of throwing knives, stars, and poisoned darts. There were more of these wrapped around his ankles on special holsters. In all, he was carrying at least 20 different weapons, rather heavy ones too. Yet he could fight with the grace of a ballerina, at the same time delivering powerful, bone-crushing kicks.
Shale glided down the street, looking like a well-groomed businessman. But he wasn't any businessman. He had been chosen by the side of the good to fight the evil. Over his shoulder was a guitar bag. To any passersby, it appeared to contain a guitar. In fact, it contained a much more lethal item. It contained his custom made .50 cal Barrett. He loved the gun. With the a cat like leap, he sprang up a fire escape scrambling to a rooftop. With practiced ease, he unslung his rifle and scoped out the evening...

Pavel Chernyshev Khokhlov (Our Red Technocrat operative) took note of the man wearing intelligentsia clothes on the street; This was uncommon in the Red Technocracy, and even on this world the man's clothing seemed out of place to Pavel.
He unclenched his left hand and raised it into the air beside him. His next movement was to raise his Ring and Middle fingers in a "V" shape, and draw them down through the air. His right hand closed in on his holster, and he transferred a small amount of Neural-net processing to his 1st stage combat reflexes with a single though.

Suri felt an air of power about the place that she was in, and felt as though she should leave. She made her way out of there in a hurry, then slipped down a man hole into the sewers, where the humans lived. She took in a deep breath and began to make her way threw the tunnels, looking for someone to grab. They still needed more memebers, and any human would do at this point.

Turning his head up, "What do you want boy?" He murmured under his breath as his eyes stayed perfectly shut and his body didn't dare move an inch. "For that in which is there in which is unseen is no more than that of reality. Leave now if your mind is amused for if not you will die with your head a skew." Not laughing as he said it for he was perfectly serious in riddle as his head was pointed down - hooded and masked.
"Mask of death is so fair for that of light is so deranged that when you die there is no better victory. Run now for your body will wilt and a rose will form in the place of your hilt." Referring practically that he would die if he didn't leave and that of a rose would be in the place of his death: Flowers at a funeral.

Shale felt the eyes of an evil upon him. Reacting to his instincts, he reached behind his back, as if to stretch, but in fact reaching behind his suit, at the waist. His hands closed around the familiar grip of his two Desert Eagles. Faster than anything humanly possible and with inhuman accuracy, he whipped around jumping behind a car at the same time and pulverized the suspected "mask" behind him with a barrage of .50 cal rounds. Shale instinctively knew that all but one round had made their mark. The one round that did, smashed into the hip, at the very least, temporarily disabling the evil one.

Pavel swung around at the sound of a high-caliber gunshot. He twirled his body in a 180 turn, facing Shale from a distance. Stepping slightly to the left in a quick motion, he drew his Las-Gun from the holster and fired several shots at the thermal signature of shale.

Damn. He's fast. thought Shale. Better end this quick.
Shale charged forward at a brick wall and ran up it, then pushed off and flipped away, behind Pavel. While in midair, he fired four rounds into the chest and head off the evil thing. The head and chest exploded into puffs of red. Shale hoped that had done the job and that Pavel didn't start regenerating like some weird alien, or that it wasn't all just a big illusion and Pavel had really not been hit at all by the half inch hollowpoints.

Suri heard gun fire not too far off and she made her way towards it, her hair flowing around her. She pulled her top hat down a bit so that it would not fall off if she had to get into a fight. She pulled one of her specialized .50 cal hand guns from her belt and narrowed her eyes a bit, moving with enough stealth to keep her hidden for now. She could hear at least two people and she nodded her head. If they were humans she could take them and turned them into Masks. Masks could not seance other Masks, so it was all just plaid by ear.

A laugh filled the arena as he would call it, a wicked eerie feeling would fill those here as a mist appeared around Shale and the others. "What a man in the moonlight who roams around. The sounds of a cricket which chirps so loud. You go right and I go left though all the pawns have been set. I would love to sit around and play but unsettlingly today is your death defying day..." The voice hissed playfully as a man appeared from the shadows and his mask only gleamed. "Riddle me this and riddle me that, what a man with a gun in his hat? He runs and plays with trickery at that, though all along he is a sad sad soul who only deserves a pocket of ash. A mask for a head is all I ask and in return power will grant you a free pass. Join me good fellow and learn what power truly is and bring chaos to the soul and brink across the globe. What do you say Shale, for today is your lucky day. Accept or deny and your destiny will come aligned." Laughing more as the robed figure walked a bit closer, "Meru is the name and mask making is my game. I am the first and the last and there will be no more like me just as sure as a head on a lance. My people are strong and my numbers are great and our power defies the Heaven, alas." Bringing a stop to the rambling. "Must love a good riddle and rhyme if I must say so myself but enough of the primes. You are very much disturbing me and of all the people to do that to, I'm not one of them. Masks are so petite to most but to me it is a God. It all started one day when I was bored and wanted to play though I came to find there is more magic than there is to the eye. Now tonight things will blow sky-high!" He said as his hands rumbled as darkness shifted in them and a screech came as the windows around them shattered. "Now what is your reason to live. It better be good."

Suri ducked and covered her ears with her hands, dropping her gun as there was a loud screeching. She heard a shatter and looked up, her eyes going wide as she saw the glass. She grabbed her gun and lep out of the way as the glass hit and shattered on the ground. She slid her gun away and used the wind to lift her, bringing her to one of the now open windows. She looked inside, and everything about her conveyed surprise. She would have never expected to have seen something like this.
She dropped from the window, using her wind and keeping it only around her to keep herself hidden from the three men. One was clearly a mask, but none she had ever seen or heard of before. She moved closer, hoping to get a better look.

(OOC: No fair... where are the other humans?!?!?! I'm getting ganged up on... LOL. BTW, we're on a street, not in a building. )
Shale could not believe the amazing number of masks in the area.
"Fine, make me do this the hard way..." he grumbled. With a superhuman sprint, Shale launched himself up to a third-story balcony, unslinging his rifle on the way up. When he reached the balcony, he zoomed in on Pavel and blasted off what remained of his head with a massive .50 caliber slug (like 4" x .5" massive). Then he glanced around. Then he noticed the other mask. This one was a woman. He scoped in on her, and started to pull the trigger. But something stopped him.
He had always thought of masks as ugly things, but this girl was beautiful. She moved with a grace that he had never seen, even during his training. He couldn't shoot her. But on the other hand, he couldn't NOT shoot her, or he might wind up dead. He heard the voice. The booming voice sounded familiar, it was known to him as the Song of the Masks. It would call him to the side of evil. He resisted the temptation and pulled out two earplugs and blocked out the voice, then focused on the girl again, but she was gone. He looked around, hoping to catch another glimpse.

Suri caught sight of a human and hid quickly, pressing her back to a wall and pulling out one of her special modifies pistols, but made no move. She worked for the evil, but was able to fight them off at times. She peeked around the corner, her blue eyes casting the light as she tilted her head a bit, curious as to why the human had not shot at her. He was handsome, and clearly a skilled fighter, but it was hard to say what his motive was. He was a super human, she could tell from the way he moved, and it only made her more interested.

Shale caught a snatch of movement, and his eyes rocketed to the spot. He was too late though. He was curious who this mask-girl was. He had never seen a mask-girl who was as beautiful as this one.
Shale glanced around and realized that he was very exposed. He swiftly bagged his rifle and leaped to the ground. He landed on all fours, almost cat-like. Then he sprinted for home. He didn't want to be caught between three different masks again.

Suri saw the man jump and take off. She put away her pitsols and wuickly went after him. She moved almost silently, only the sound of the wind letting anyone know as she passed. her cloak fluttered around her, her top hat pressed tightly on her head so she would not loose it. She kep up with the human rather well, though she was not really sure why she was going after him.
