2585 CE (Common Era)
Location: Citadel, Serpent Nebula

The Citadel stood in all its glory, clear for the transit liner's passengers to see and take photos of. Typical tourist actions, in other words. There were all sorts of races, from Quarians with a variety of goals, a few on Pilgrimage, to a Krogan bounty hunter, there were numerous beings. The only one of particular note was a human male, barely a year or two over thirty. He carried a pair of weapons, which unnerved the other passengers, as he obviously was not security, but there was little they could do about it. His hands were behind the small of his back, like an officer at the CIC of a warship, and he was staring out the view port, watching the Citadel as it grew steadily larger to dominate more and more of the available view. The man did not usually helm his own ship, taking advantage of a variety of other circumstances to skulk around unseen. A feint smile played on his face, considering he rarely ever got back to the Citadel in general, let alone being recalled by his employers. A direct recall meant something unusually important had happened, and normal holograph communication would not be secure or expedient enough for their tastes.

The ship's pilot eased the craft into its assigned dock, and Alexi Isaac, the armed human, exited the ship with the rest of the passengers, who were eager to leave the human to whatever tasks he was going to pursue. Like it was their business, anyways. Calmly walking towards the customs passageway, and a few brief words admitted him into the security hallway. There was a Turian on duty, who looked over the armed human and went through the motions of scanning. A note on his file kept him from being detained for the possession of the weapons, or being questioned in general. Alexi calmly walked towards a transport, and entered his destination. The Citadel Tower, and he boarded and ignored the subtle vertigo as the Mass Fields kicked in and propelled the craft to its destination. Watching the various Wards go by as the craft went, Alexi steepled his hands and waited for the transport to reach its destination. This didn't take long, and as the transport landed and the door swung open, Alexi climbed out and straightened out his coat. He had just finished an assignment, and the reason he was recalled so quickly was because he had made his report as they were preparing to contact him.

Ignoring the looks of the various politicians, he strode forward, ignoring the greenery and keepers. It didn't take long for him to mount the last of the stairwells and walk out on the platform, where the Citadel Council waited for him. Alexi smirked, and crossed his arms, waiting for them to speak first. There were four of them, representing each of the major Council races that would be working with the situation. He never bothered to learn their names, which they had taken note of and usually kept him out in the field. The Turian represented his race, as well as the military arm of the Citadel. The Asari was the diplomat, while the Solarian was the intelligence of the group. Already at the platform was the human council, Rayn. Alexi usually avoided Rayn, and he returned the favor. They disagreed with each others means and motives, but their ends were the same, so they tolerated each other. Alexi finally broke the silence, tired of waiting for the Council to say something. "Right, I'm here, as requested. Not often you three recall Spectre's, whats gone wrong this time, and when do I leave to fix it?"

The Asari was first to reply, calm and collected, and what she said actually caught Alexi's attention. "Please be patient Isaac, your not going alone this time. We are expecting several others before the briefing." Alexi snorted at this, getting a pointed look from Rayn, who still kept quiet for now. He wasn't a fiery or hot headed politician, but he was as dirty and underhanded as the rest of them. Alexi addressed the Council, a smirk playing on his face. "We both know I don't play well with others. They have a tendency to get in my way, no offense to whatever sorry bastards you found to throw into the line of fire this time." Rayn finally spoke, in a low, hissing voice to the Spectre. "Watch your tongue, your barely tolerated as it is." Alexi just gave him a look that screamed he didn't care what Rayn had to say right now, and looked back to the Council, the Turian speaking now. "Ambassador Rayn has a point Isaac, but that will be discussed later. We will wait for the rest of your new team to arrive before we continue." Alexi sighed, and leaned against the rail, arms still crossed. Compared to all the spick and span folks that inhabited this level, he was downright disheveled and stuck out like a sore thumb. Alexi scanned for similar figures, those who stood out, to peg as potentials the Council stuck him with. Until then, it was the waiting game.

Soon the doors parted and the tall, lithe figure of an asari passed through them and into the room. Her movements were quiet and graceful but it wasn’t until she neared the human that her eyes flickered with recognition and a small smile filled her lips. “Isaac, it is good to see you again… And in one piece, no less? I think that is more surprising than the fact that you’re leading this mission.”

Turning away from him, Niala bowed slightly to the Council members as a show of respect before addressing Isaac once more. “So, did you ever attempt any trips back to Parnack?” A soft chuckle left her mouth moments before an abrupt and loud noise was heard in the corridor followed by angry shouting.

“LOOK! There is no way in hell that I am going to be in the same room as your candy ass so you may as well hop a shuttle back to Omega where they might…..” The doors slid open and suddenly, a body clad all in black armor came flying through, traveling a short distance before she made contact with the floor and finally skidded to a stop.

The figure, Gabi, stood up and drew her M-3 Predator while another figure dressed more provocatively stepped into the room smirking as her hand lowered back to her side. “You’re just jealous because you can’t do half of what I can and that’s why I got the last contract before you even knew what was happening.”

“ARGH Stevie, you half-wit. If you went up against a Krogan he would tear you a new ass. You forget that you ACCEPTED the contract and may I remind you that you still haven’t collected on it.” Gabi paused long enough to push herself back into a standing position as she snarled at Stevie. “Oh. That’s right. You actually have to kill someone to end that contract, right? Pity you’re such a bleedin’ heart that you can’t even….”

Ambassador Rayn had been staring at the scene before him with his mouth agape before finally he snapped into babysitting mode, utterly embarrassed that such drama would take place in front of the council.

“ENOUGH!” He said, his deep voice carrying over all other conversation in the room as he stepped up to the two women that were fighting and raised his hands. “Enough! Both of you, stand down I will not have you…”

Before he could even finish his sentence, Gabi had walked over to Stevie and slammed the butt of the gun against the back of her head, knocking her unconscious.

Ambassador Rayne turned a deep, mottled shade of purple that was quite a sight to see and Gabi holstered her weapon and smiled charmingly. “There you go! Fight ended….” She passed the tongue-tied Ambassador and stepped up on the opposite side of Isaac, smirking to herself as she muttered, “Goddamn biotic bitches," only taking a quick glance over her shoulder at Stevie to make sure that she was still breathing. She was! So no harm, no foul... Right?

Shouting voices already carried down the hall as Shiana made her way towards the council chambers. The asari hoped it wasn't a sign of things to come, but knew it was a foolish hope at best. The council rarely recalled Spectres and it sounded like she wasn't the only one to be recalled this time. Matriarch Tiria knew Shiana didn't like to sit in one place for long and generally contacted her via hologram when possible. The asari had only been recalled twice in her long career and one of them was to be commisioned. She stopped in front of the chamber doors and they slid open with thier usual hiss. Inside the council members already looked at their wits end with the four standing in front of them....well only three were standing. The fourth was unconscious on the floor.

"I see things have already gotten lively in here," Shiana called as she approached the council members and her soon to be comrades. Things already looked like this would be a difunctional team at best; down right chaotic at worse. She bowed before the council and smiled at the Matriarch.

"Its good too see you again Shiana. I wish it was under better circumstances," the Matriarch said and smiled sadly.

"As do I," Shiana replied. The asari began to take stock of the other four in the chamber, sizing them up. Three humans and another asari, and one of those humans was likely taken out by somone here. Can't say its the group I would have picked, but its the council's decision, she thought to herself.

The violet-eyed youth slowly made his way up the multiple flights of stairs. Each fountain he passed by, each face of each well-dressed person that gawked at him, each tap of a 'Keeper's fingers on their data pad brought him flashbacks. Flashbacks of how he ended up in this loathsome predicament....

Lynn had received a message from her mother on the Citadel asking her to come back home; it sounded urgent. The Citadel wasn't Alliance space, technically, and Cerberus wouldn't be dumb enough to set up shop there. So none of them had any qualms against stopping there. Besides, it had been weeks since they docked.

How could they have known that even the Council was after young McBride?

When they arrived at Lynn's childhood home an older man dressed in extravagant, silver threaded robes was there. Lynn's family was nowhere to be found, and in their stead stood two lightly armored soldiers--decked out in what Solo noted to be Spectre gear. He was sure after that, he was sure that this man was Ambassador Rayn of the Council. The man had the smuggest face possible on as Lynn interrogated him about her family's whereabouts. The politician assured her that all was well and they were being taken care of by the Council themselves.

"You're family is the least of my worries Miss."

"Then why set this up? You can't possibly..." Gorre was stopped midsentence by Rayn.

"No, i'm not here on behalf of the Alliance, and certainly not that of Cerberus. I am, as always, here under the flag of Humanity and the Council." Gorre scoffed at the obviously rehearsed answer.

"Oh of course, you seem very heroic right now Ambassador!" The sarcasm did not amuse Rayn.

"There is something out there attacking colonies, synthetics. Geth, mechs, I don't know. Regardless, we're building a team to combat it--"

"And you want Gorre and I to join?" Solo noted the Ambassador's extremely amused expression at Lynn's suggestion. It looked like Rayn was about to burst into laughter at the mere thought of a woman with no combat experience, and a Quarian who was widely regarded as insane joining the most important team since Shepard's Squad.

"No, not you two," The man rose up from the table. Calmly and coolly he approached the youngest, and smallest member of the team. Rayn was about two Solo's put together height wise. Maybe two and a half. So he towered above the boy. "The Council wants Solo to join the team."

"You can't be serious, he's fourteen!"

"Solo isn't a soldier!"

"No!! I don't want to!"

Each member of the fugitive trio rejected. The Ambassador made it clear that he wasn't negotiating by waving his entourage over. The armored men stood close behind Rayn now, brandishing their assault rifles. Lynn bit her lip, and Solo's eyes widened in fear.

"I realize your hesitance, but Solo you're quite possibly one of the most qualified humans out there for the job. You've surpassed Gorre, a skilled Quarian engineer when it comes to tech. And we both know about your biotic ability..." Slowly, he paced in front of them, never taking his eyes of the boy. “This isn't me asking you, this is me telling you. If you refuse to cooperate, we'll simply force you to join. Need I remind you you're all fugitives from the Alliance? I can have them over here in mere seconds. And..." A chilling smirk appeared on the man's face. He crouched down to Solo's height [even crouched he still hand to bend down some to get eye-level, "Need I remind you about that AI you're keeping on your ship boy?" Shaking, Solo backed away from the man. He backed so far back that his rear end smacked against the apartment's doorway.

"You son of a bitch! You're blackmailing a child!" Gorre hollered from behind his enviro-suit.

"I am doing it for the council and for the galaxy! Solo's people need him now more than ever!" Rayn's voice softened to a tender, pleading tone, "Solo. Wouldn't Scott want you to help us?" That was it--he had him now. Solo's body stiffened and his face went blank.

"My brother...?" He whispered, "F-fine..."

Rayn had blackmailed him into joining this team. But is this really what Scott would have wanted for him? To save the galaxy and put his own life at risk? He was just a kid! What could he possibly do?! Solo hated the Ambassador. And as he cleared the final step that lead to the podium where the two Asari, human man and woman, and a third unconscious girl, and saw Rayn standing there above them all he glared at the man with the blackest contempt.

It had only been two hours since his last dose of medication, but Solo never wanted for the L2s side-effects to arise so bad. A mass of blue energy faintly gathered around the youth's right hand. He wanted to smack Rayn with the strongest biotic field he'd ever conjured--but he refrained.

John's eyes opened slowly, his head was pressed up against the wall and his hands against his forehead. His throbbing headache was matched by the beat of music echoing around his head. slowly he sat up and looked around the Dark Star Lounge in the Citadel. Straight away he realised he had to meet the council in a matter of minutes. He jumped off of his chair onto his feet with speed, only making his headache worse. The Presidium was his destination and not within walking distance so he hopped on the nearest shuttle car.

John did not even know why he had been called to this council meeting. He was on a normal patrol mission when his commanding officer called him to his quarters. An urgent message awaited for him. The council themselves had requested his presence. Probably that fool Rayn. Ever since the Alliance had completed the training of elite squads Rayn had used them like his own personal Spectre's, a bloody joke to tel the truth. Nonetheless John had no option but to comply and he was sent straight to the Citadel.

As the shuttle car arrived in the presidium John's eyes were blasted of vast rays of light and bright colours. Not the best thing for a nasty hangover. People bustled around him as he walked towards the Citadel Tower and up the long pristine steps. Dignitaries of all races crowded around the fountains on every level. It was not long before he arrived at the council's podium were a small group of people had already gathered. He took his place at the back giving a quick but humble gesture to the council before standing and awaiting their reply. "Good, you have arrived John" replied the human councilor, Rayn. At the same moment John recognised a female in the group. "Gabi?" he thought to himself.
“Never before have so many come together from all quarters of the galaxy. But never before have we faced an enemy such as this. The Reapers will show us no mercy, we must give them no quarter. They will terrorize our populations. We must stand fast in the face of that terror. They will advance until our last city falls, but we will not fall. We will prevail. Each of us will be defined by our actions in the coming battle. Stand fast, stand strong. Stand together. Hackett out.”

Isaac got this grin on his face when, of all people, Niala showed up. Of course she would be dragged into this fiasco of a mission. He let her finish her polite actions and chuckled at the mention of Parnack. "Why yes, I did return to that planet. Remember that mission council? Tried another olive branch, only to receive footage of them strung up like bloody marionettes? That got under your skin enough to send me again. Second time went better though, should of seen how angry they got when I blew their one boss away." He lacked the respect that the others had shown the council, at least the ones that had acknowledged them thus far.

Isaac smirked at the general ruckus caused by the two females who came in brawling. This team would be fun, at least. Whether they would define it as such or not was another matter entirely. He was already tempted to assign the two to the same bunkroom, just to see how long it took for one of them to kill the other in a fit of rage, or whatever drove them to such acts. His sense of self preservation prevailed for now though, no need to bring THAT sort of trouble into his life. Considering they would no doubt figure it was his fault they had to bunk together if he went down that path. The council, to their credit, kept their peace as the shenanigans occurred, letting them work it out, even to the point of having one of the two cracked with the butt of a pistol. The quip about biotic bitch made Isaac snort in amusement, earning a pointed look from Rayn. He couldn't help but comment on her actions though. "Said biotic bitch is gonna be pissed when she comes around."

"That is not a productive statement, Mr. Isaac." The Salarian councilor made this comment as he watched the others come in, including a mere child. Why Rayn had recommended this child for a mission of this caliber would have earned him a replacement, if it was not for the boy's apparent ability. Isaac just gave the boy a glance, as well as glancing over the new Asari. She already was on terms with the Asari that served on the council, which meant the council Asari probably hadn't wanted him to lead the mission. She was probably overridden by Rayn and a combination of the other Council members. The kid caught his interest, he had this pure hate in his expression that he hadn't seen in the face of anyone in years, let alone a kid. It was obviously directed towards Rayn, and Isaac merely gave Rayn a 'We'll talk later' look. He was going to get to the bottom of the reason for THAT look, one way or another. He personally wasn't fond of having a kid on board. One that was expected to pull his weight in a team like this one. That was for later though, and barely giving the next human male, and ignored the comment from Rayn. Each of them fit into his political agenda somehow, question was, how?

"We are still missing a few, but we don't have the luxury to lounge around and wait, they can be caught up later. Someone get the unconscious female awake." The Turian had decided it was time to get moving, and Isaac wasn't going to be bothered getting her up unless he had to. Once someone got her up, the Salarian began the briefing in earnest. "Now, each of you no doubt wonder why you were recalled, or given the order, to come here. No doubt each of you have some knowledge of the various disappearances and slaughters of the outer colonies? Each of you have been tasked with investigating what happened, and eventually, stop them. We will be providing a frigate, considering the spectre leading this mission always deigned to make his own way about. Isaac, introduce yourself to your team, if you would be so kind?" Isaac rolled his eyes, not bothering to uncross his arms or even stand up. "I'm a bit tired here boss, besides, shouldn't you be the one doing the briefing and such, not me?" After a collective look from the Council and Rayn, Isaac shrugged. "No need to get your collective political arses in a bind. We all know its tight enough to make diamond out of coal normally, no need to make it that much harder to wedge a piece of coal right..."

Rayn cut him off at this point. "Isaac, Enough! You are here as a representative of humanity, as well as the Council's authority. At least show some respect in front of them!" Isaac just gave Rayn a nasty grin. "Wasn't talking to you Rayn, your so uptight you could wreck starships into itty bitty cubes. Coal to Diamond wouldn't even take an hour. Now shut up and let me do as the Salarian ordered." Under other circumstances he would have been thrown out for half of what he said, but now was not the time to address it. Isaac bothered to stand up now and let his hands fall to his pockets. "Right, Alexi Isaac, human spectre and general pain in the Council's collective ass. But, for whatever reason, they keep me around, so until I piss them off enough to get rid of me, I get to tack on the ever so humbling title of Spectre onto my name. We should have quite the amount of fun together, I bet." To be honest, he expected some other Spectre to be put in charge of the mission, not him, but the Council chose as it did, in their ever so infinite wisdom. The Turian took over at this point. "Enough Isaac, or we can just have a datapad brief you and have you inspect the ship. And yes, that is a warning. Now, questions so far?"

Niala clasped her hands behind her back, smiling to herself as Isaac recounted the story for her. The Spectre knew how to get into his fair share of trouble with the one small exception that raised him above most other humans… He usually could get himself out of the trouble he caused on his own, as well. In fact the mission on Parnack had been the first and only time that she had been required to patch him up. A slim scar on his right oblique was the only reminder of the chunk of metal that had embedded itself into his side after being thrown by a Yahg at full force. She was quite surprised that he had lived through it at all but it was a testament to the Spectre’s durability, if nothing else.

After the small debacle between the two human females, the healer side of the asari came out and she went over to Stevie’s side to revive her as the rest of the team got acquainted.

As soon as Niala slipped away, Gabi overheard Isaac’s comment and snickered softly to herself before replying, “Nah, she doesn’t have it in her. Sad that she chose the life of a merc because she can’t stand to harm people much less kill them. It’s why she’s so easy to pick on….”

The door slid open once more and Gabi turned her head to see who the newest addition to their ragtag bunch was but the man that slipped through the door caused her jaw to drop slightly.

John? Here?! she thought and as he walked over to the group she slammed her mouth shut with force. This is gonna be awkward…. she mused but a job was a job and she wasn’t about to let an old flame keep her out of the game.

“Look who the cat dragged in. Heard you were one of the best snipers in the Universe now,” a smirk flitted across her lips as she addressed John before turning back to listen to the council and Isaac begin their briefing.

Niala finally had Stevie up and on her feet though the human was holding a hand to the back of her head, grimacing slightly as they joined the rest of the group. As she walked up to stand beside Gabi, Stevie shot her a death glare and much like the teen boy, the area around her right hand glowed a faint blue. She was pissed, but Gabi was right. Stevie wasn’t about to harm anyone unless it was out of self defense. So, sighing, she lowered her hand and turned her attention to whomever was speaking.

Luke had, had a surprising message waiting for him back at his bunk, nothing like knowing the council had summoned you personally. He had reacted to the best of his ability laying down on his bed and ignoring all evidence that he had been called for. That was until his superior office, ordered him up and off to the council, ugh being young, and a graduate of the N7 program he still got ordered around. It was so annoying, but what could he do about it? He finally finished getting ready, finding it better to just go in battle ready, instead of in civilian clothes, saved time energy and having to back track to get all his things.

When he had finished his N7 training program he had ordered for his own custom made light-weight armor, finding that even as a biotics user he enjoyed being able to get around someone just as much as end them from afar. The armor itself was a dark blue in coloration the plates at important parts of his body solid black. His weapons in place as well; as he made the small trip towards the Council chambers. The presidium, always a nice place; to bright for his own tastes, and it was always, well boring hearing politicians talking about random things. Though that didn't last long due to his amazing ability to literally filter out anything that bored, annoyed him. He took the elevator up. He took the stairs two at a time to reach the council, and was just in time, to hear Most of the briefing, pausing at the entrance, to let everyone finish before he made his entrance. " So possibly a mission that could get us all killed or politically forgotten by the council or the alliance?" Lucas walked in one of his hands rubbing at his chin in thought the other crossed over his chest, " Do we get an amount of creds for gathering weapons for the necessary mission, and one more thing. Why is there a kid here?" Luke couldn't help it, a child here, where everyone else looked as if they had battle experience. Though by the blue mass near the kid's hand, and one of the girls. He guessed he wasn't the only biotic user here.

Oh, he was forgetting to introduce himself. " Yeah sorry introductions, I am, 2nd Lieutenant Lucas Leingod of the system Alliance, yadda yadda yadda" He finished, he didn't like long winded introductions, so he always made his short, then again his CO; never liked that about him. Well that didn't matter now; he was under the command of a spectre now. He walked a little closer to the group of people, and the council finding a place near the end of the group, to await anything else that needed to be say by the council members or the spectre Issac, either way he'd pay attention, somewhat.

Solo didn't care for Issac, the apparent leader of the group. The man reminded him far too much of the type of soldiers that filled that Cerberus lab he was detained in. And with each and every word the Spectre spoke, his distrust of him was only reinforced more and more. He noted the confused looks the majority of the team gave him--if only they knew that they looked just as odd to him as he did the them. Young McBride sighed. He realized he still had a field around his left hand. With the smallest bit of surprise on his mocha toned face he dismissed it. Solo faded in and out as he attempted to listen, uninterested to the what the others had to say. It wasn't until a newcomer, 'Lucas' was his name? Said something and he was snapped back into full, irritated consciousness.

"....and one more thing. Why is there a kid here?"

"My name is Solo McBride." The boy said sharply. His eyes were cut at Lucas. If looks could kill, the soldier would be six feet under. This guy Lucas was in the Alliance just like his brother was. This man was in the Alliance just like the men that were trying to capture him are from. “And besides, it’s not like I want to be here.” Solo scoffed and threw yet another dirty look Rayn’s way. It’s all his fault. Rayn.
Solo rarely felt contempt for an individual other than the operatives hunting him, but Rayn was an exception. He wanted to get to the ship so he could see Canti. The councilman had told him that his robotic companion was to be stored on this ship the team would be using. That part of their deal was under the table, the only ones with any knowledge about Canti were Solo and Rayn. The council couldn’t learn of the AI powered mech at any cost.

They were wasting time.

Ikiro adjusted his collar as the lift shot toward the council chambers. As a general rule the pilot wasn't summoned to these briefings. He had no idea why the had decided to call him away from his preparations, all he had to do was take orders from who ever they put in charge of the mission. He already knew it was a Specter operation, and a particularly important one at that, they never pulled a helmsman off a ship mid deployment. He checked the time, he'd be late. Didn't hey know he had more urgent matters to attend to, like preparing to fly a new ship, than go to some political show.

The doors hissed open and he stepped into the chamber, his boots clicking lightly on the floor. The level was filled with various important people from various races, along with tourists, and keepers. A normal day on the Citadel. He removed his visor as he made his way up the stairs. Most of the team was already assembled, leaving the Drell to wonder again why he was even called in the first place. He quietly made his way up the last few steps and slipped by the others.

"My apologies, I was held up." The Drell bowed his head slightly but offered no further explanation to his tardiness. He had been learned from a young age to respect those who you worked under, and none were higher than the Council, so he gave them due respect. He slipped back toward the stairs and stood aside, less than happy to have to stand there and listen.

Shiana had been willing to accept he disfunctional team that the council had assembled and give it a chance, but when a child came in even she had limits to tolerance. "A child! Matriarch, the council can't be serious. This is a mission of the utmost importance and the enemy we face is undoubtably hostile and you would send a child into this. How can you consent to this!" Shiana chided in disgust. It wasn't like the asari to make such an outburst, but it was immoral to throw a child into a battlefield.

"Hold your tongue, Shiana! I don't like it anymore than you do, but we have no other alternative. The 'child', as you refer to him, is the most qualified in his expertise for this mission. You should know more than anyone that sometimes we must put aside our feelings to do what must be done," the matriarch scolded.

"Yes, but at what cost? And you," Shiana said pointing at Rayn. "You mention respect, but you afford none of your own. Not even for your own people. Maybe you should lead by example."

"Shiana!" Matriarch Tiria exclaimed.

"I've never been so insulted. Tiria, can't you control your subordinate?" Rayn growled angrily.

"No need, I'm done here. I'll do this mission, but I don't have to like it. I don't even want to look at you anymore. I'll be waiting in the docking bay when your done here," Shiana told the council and then addressed the group as she stormed out, passing another newcomer on the way out.

Isaac surprisingly kept his quiet while the Asari chewed out the Matriarch who served on the council. Normally, he would have made a smart ass comment or three just to get things even more stressful on the part of the Council and Rayn. But she had a good point, there was a line you had to draw. He was far from the kind of person who had any right to say that, but even he wouldn't go beyond a certain point. Isaac had noted the nasty look the kid, Solo McBride, gave Rayn, and immediately had a rough idea who had suggested throwing the poor kid into this mess. He calmly looked at the council and got this nasty grin. "I knew you lot had lacking morals, being politicians and all, but a kid, really? I'm not questioning his talents, but I am questioning the fact of his age. He doesn't look like he's over 16 years old. Puberty, plus biotics and the stress of combat? That's a bad combination. Ignoring the fact that involving children in a spectre's war is something I highly disapprove of to begin with. Even I have boundaries."

Rayn stepped forward, eager to try and slap the upstart back in his place. "Finally growing a conscious? What, did all the people you see die finally catch up to you? Or was it..." He didn't get a word farther, as Isaac spun around and kneed Rayn in the groin, hard enough to make an audible crack! and rudely shoved the man down the stairs leading up to the platform. The look on Isaac's face was not a pleasant one, and it was obvious Rayn had touched off a bad idea. Isaac turned to the council and calmly continued. "He'll be fine, now finish the brief so I can get out of this damn shitstorm that you call politics." The council was obviously torn between throwing Isaac out or something else, but decided that now was not the time to do such things. The Salarian picked up from here, keeping things brief. "We have decided, regardless of personal feelings Isaac. Mr. McBride will accompany you on this mission. Obviously tensions are high, so this will be brief. The first place we recommend you check is in Terminus space, the location has been logged in your Nav database. You will be deploying in a human designed frigate, the SSV Agincourt, the name was brought out of retirement. She is primarily operated by humans, mostly current or ex Alliance personnelle. After you complete the mission, Isaac will report via holographic transmission, and what the next course of action is will be decided based on the information. Isaac, the rest of the pertinent information will be forwarded to you so you can instruct your team as you see fit. Dismissed."

Isaac turned casually and grinned at the various people on his crew. "Right, to the docking bays before someone shoots those bureaucratic assholes. And I won't look twice if you kick Rayn while we walk by. Real tempted to do so myself. Half an hour to meet up in the docking bay, forty five minutes tops. I want to get off this station ASAP." Isaac calmly walked away, almost kicking Rayn in the head, as he was just barely starting to catch his breath again, and start getting up. Isaac would let the others make their own way to the ship as they saw fit. Once everyone was gone, Rayn had picked himself up and limped back up the stairs, and looked at the council. "Do you think he suspects anything?" The Turian shook his head. "He wasn't looking here for anything beyond his percieved incompetence in our political circles." Rayn smiled, and limped away, he would recover soon and resume like nothing had gone wrong. They would have their revenge on that upstart fool Isaac, and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. But that did not give free will to be reckless, so he would remain on course until the right time came to end this facade. Until then, lead Isaac and his team on their wild goose chase, and hopefully that problem will resolve itself.

"Well That was that, huh?" He thought to himself as he watched one of the Asari storm out of the council's chamber, and then watched as the Spectre knee Rayn in the groin, and then the meeting was over like that. Okay, this wasn't what he expected for what was going to happen; but like it mattered what he thought right? He listened to Isaac, and nodded his head about when they would meet up. Then again, what else did he really have to do? He had no family here, and it wasn't like he had to let anyone know where he was going. Though he did turn to the kid; Solo and smiled. " Don't worry Squirt we'll keep you alive, hopefully.." He said with a wave of his hand, as he turned from the rest of them and began his retreat from the place.

Well, he managed to waste enough time before actually making it to the Docking bay. He looked around a little; feeling that he'd just wait for the rest of the group before doing anything else he leaned against a wall and closed his eyes, well this was going to be interesting, he personally had never felt any loyalty to the council, nor to anyone but himself; it was a thing his father taught him best, while growing up. He reopened his eyes lifting a hand concentrating as the familiar blue field began to enclose itself around his hand. "So, I'm not the only Biotic going to be on this ship..." He said out loud and chuckled some as he let the field slip away. "This sucks, means my practical jokes won't work on some of the team" He said out loud and laughed a little harder. This was going to be interesting, because He no matter what; was going to keep at least himself, in a decent mood during this entire time, even if the situation is particularly morbid. He didn't care; he had served in the Alliance long enough to know, that shit did hit the fan; and quite often on battlefields. So this, and anything that came his way would not bother him in the slightest.

Ikiro was more than happy to leave the 'meeting', which he hadn't seen the purpose of before and still didn't. He bypassed the lift in favor of the public transport which would get him to the ship that much faster. He mulled over the idea of a mostly human crew while the transport took him to the docking bay. He had worked with plenty of humans but never a predominantly human crew. He most looked forward to the ship, humans had become known for their ship design, he had piloted a few in his time and they were fantastic ships to helm, especially the Frigates, which Humans liked to stuff full of things that made them far more deadly then their size betrayed.

The SSV Agincourt was a fairly standard looking ship, something that could easily get lost in the fleet. Ikiro embarked and made his way to the helm to look over his work space. He would have little trouble adjusting to the human designed helm since they had very similar body structure. Turian ships where some of the worst, salarian's where better but still had an awkward feel. The asari and human ships fit him best and between the two the slightly more laid back seat of a human helm fit the drell's liking more.

Ikiro his fingers along the seat before climbing into it. Reptilian hands hovered over the controls, passing from one to another with out resting on them. He took a deep breath and looked out at the view of the citadel's arms stretching out into the distance. It would be a good ship, he could feel it.

Niala still had one of her hands wrapped around Stevie’s upper arm, supporting the young human. “Isaac. I think I will be in my MedBay, checking over this young woman….” The asari shot the human girl a look that said, “No arguing” before turning her attention back to the Spectre. “If you need me, I will be there.”

Without another word and with surprisingly no fight from Stevie, the two women walked out of the room and made their way to the docking bay to board the ship.

Gabi, on the other hand, was one of those people that was always late and probably wouldn’t even be on time to her own funeral. She had to double back and grab her gear before finally using public transport to hit up the docking bay and even when a few attendants tried to help her with her cases, she waved them off and snickered loudly.

“No one touches these babies but me. Thanks though…” Looping one of the bags over her shoulder that contained her slim selection of clothing and armor, she easily reconfigured the other cases to be held under her arms or in her hands so that no one else would have to help her carry her weapons and ammo. Even if this was a Council-approved and Spectre-led mission, she didn’t hold much stock in the fact that everything would be provided for them so she had dragged along a little bit of everything that they may or may not need for the mission.

She found a room and dumped all of her luggage into it before taking a self-guided tour about the ship. Hopefully, no one would notice how late she had been in arriving since she didn’t even see anyone else until she passed Lucas leaning against the wall in one of the corridors. A blue biotic field encompassed his one hand, causing the soldier to roll her eyes.

“You have got to be shittin’ me. Stuck with not just one of you freaks but a whole handful? I swear ta God someone up there hates me.” The sentence was more of a muttered under-the-breath comment than said directly to the biotic but unless he was deaf, he’d still hear her statement.

Isaac calmly approached the SSV Agincourt, within the half an hour to forty five minute he had set out when he first left the Council and allowed his crew an extra fifteen minutes, as the ship needed time to warm up before launching. Walking onto the ship herself, he nodded to the mostly human crew as he passed them. He got a combination of salutes, returned nods, glares, and being ignored completely. Ah well, as long as they kept the ship running, he didn't worry about what they thought about him. The Agincourt herself was standard looking for most human frigates, and was the standard spec for a refurbished frigate. No doubt that would be changed as the mission went on, and they ran into whatever this wild chase ended up leading them to.

He calmly made his way to the cockpit, where their drell pilot was already getting settled in. He didn't mind an alien pilot, to be honest, as long as he did his job, it didn't bother him one bit. He was going through getting the ship running, it seemed, so he kept it brief. "Once everything's warmed up, get us clear of the Citadel. Destination is the Omega Nebula. Should be in the navigation logs, if the Council kept their word. I'll be announcing our destination shortly, so you can ignore that, as it isn't anything important.." If the drell had no questions or comments, he would be making his way to the briefing room, where he would have the announcement sent from. He had to cover all the various 'glorious leader' responsibilities that he was stuck with now.

Calmly walking into the briefing room, where he would send most of his comms from, he opened up a shipwide comm. "Alright boys and girls, this is Isaac speaking. Assuming all the folks made it onto the ship, get yourselves settled wherever your most comfortable, just try not to stay in the way of the main throughways. Your going to love where the Council is sending us. Omega, in Terminus space. We have a good reason, rare for the Council, but thats beside the point. Once we reach the Omega Nebula, I'll lay out why were going to that cesspool of existence." Shutting down the comm, he leaned on the table in the room. He would probably be well served cutting the Alliance ID tags to avoid getting shot to hell and back as soon as they entered the Omega system. That was something he wanted to avoid have happen. If he were stupid, he would have thought that would be something the Council would have thought of to begin with, but no, he doubted they were that smart. But he would burn that bridge when he got to it, now he calmly scrolled through the data the Council had supplied them thus far. Isaac smirked, and began walking, running through the data on his omni tool, walking around the ship and making off hand notes as well. It shouldn't be a terribly long trip, so they would be jumping in feet first, as it were. He'd probably make sure everyone was settled as he ran into them, probably.

Lucas had been minding his own business, well that was until he heard one of the new squadmates comment, he turned looking at her and shook his head, it was a merc. He could only laugh. "This coming from a hired gun, look sweetie, I may be able to use biotics, but I can shoot faster, better, and handle more damage then you can. So.." He walked over and ruffled her hair, hoping to piss her off; cause he really, did not enjoy being labeled a freak. "When we get into a fight, let the adults handle things okay? stay back and clean our weapons, and if you can cook make use lunch, cause I doubt we'll need you; we've enough gun jockeys on board; your just one more worthless piece of baggage" The entire time he was belittling her with his words he had a smile on his face, but his eyes were cold. He did not enjoy being called a freak, specially seeing as growing up a biotic ment that he didn't exactly make very many friends, and was labeled a freak most his life until the alliance found a use for him.

Then, the voice of their esteemed leader rang out to them, he listened to most of it; though he showed like he wasn't paying attention at all. He chuckled at the man's word turning his attention back to the girl and gave her a wink before departing from the area and to his own bunking area, putting his weapons on his bed as he stretched out a little, feeling just a bit more calmer now that he wasn't near the merc who had broke his usual happy demeanor and utterly pissed him off; which took a lot, usually unless you call him a freak, then all bets were off and usually he'd break said person's face with the butt of his rifle or biotic attacks.but he needed to play along, they were on the same team and would all need to be able to rely on each other. He chuckled at that thought and shook his head.

He doubted the possibility of them all getting along well enough to complete this mission, but that was just him; and the fact that he already had a rough start with one of the people here did nothing for his faith of getting along with the rest of the team. He turned and left the bunking area, deciding to give himself a tour of the ship, and it's finer areas.

Its not everyday a Spectre is stuck on Omega without his ship nor his crew, But that is the situation Invictus is in. He was ordered by the council to remain in Omega untill the human spectre Alexi Isaac comes to pick him up. The council only gives orders when shit is going down. Evidently this must be big. A Multi-Spectre crew, not just 2 or 3, but a full crew? It was unheard of, and Invictus was glad he was in. He knew the council would bring him aboard if it was big. He was one of the handful of Spectres with 100% mission rate. He doesnt fail. He knew it, and the council knew it.

He also knew of this Alexi Isaac. Supposedly, one of the best human Spectres. One of THE best Spectres, regardless of his species. Invictus was once bitter of the Human Race, but after training, and serving with Humans, he came to admire the species for their unquenching will to survive and win. A trait he admired greatly.

SO Invictus waited in Afterlife. He was sitting in a Corner booth so no one could sneak up on him. He was waiting for his Runner to return with news of the SSV Agincourt, the ship in which Mr. Isaac was to be arriving in. He was supposed to be here in a few hours, and as long as Invictus remains on a low-profile, it should be an easy wait.

Its never that easy though.

As Invictus waits, a group of Batarians walk in, 4 of them. They are in full combat gear, and appear to be looking for someone. Probably a Turian someone, a Spectre. Invictus pulls out one of his Grenades out, and sticks it to the bottom of his glass. You can never be too sure. The Batarians look right at him, and begin to move in his direction.

"You there, Spectre! Alot of people aren't happy with you being here. So we've been told to remove you NOW, one way or another." Belows one of the Batarians

Invictus looks at him. "Well... That DOES seem to be a problem. See, I am waiting for a ride, which wont be here for a few more hours." His left hand is below the table, fingering the detonator. "So go tell your bosses to relax for a bit, and I will be out of their hair in no time."

The Batarians draw their rifles. "Sorry Spectre, that just wont cut it."

Invictus places his thumb over the detonator. "No need to get hasty. Why dont you guys take a seat?" He kicks the table over, his glass falling towards the mass of Batarians. He jumps behind the Table and presses the detonator. An explosion rings out through Afterlife and Shrapenel pierces through the Table and pings of the wall and Invictus' shield.

Invictus stands up brushes himself off and looks at the Carnage. Only one Batarian is still alive, not for much longer though. No Civilian casualties; Good.

He Draws his pistol and looks at the Merc. "Should have just told your bosses to relax a bit." He puts a round into the Batarians Head. As he walks out, the Bartender looks at him.
"Put it on my tab Marcus. Oh, and let Greyson know shit hit the fan. I can be found on my normal Frequency if he hears from the SSV Agincourt. Have a good one"

"Yup, you too Vic" he says as he charges him for the table, and cleaning fees

Invictus walks out of Afterlife. Its never that easy

John watched the insanity unfold in front of his eyes councilors being assaulted and verbally abused. He wasnt used to this. He had come from the bureaucracy of the Systems Alliance, following orders and not asking questions and now this? Gabbi was here too what the hell was going on? Was this someones sick kind of joke? He couldnt think about it too much he had a job to do and first on his lst was to find the frigate. John had never been on the citadel and to him it was like navigating through an enormous maze. It would take him the whole time to find the docks.

He found the ship with 10 minutes left on his deadline. The SSV Agincourt was beautiful and sleek, revolutionary technology and immense power made it what it is. He walked on board and made his way through the bustle of people and fell down onto his bunk. A quiet humming noise from the engines on the deck below soothed his eyes closed and ready to sleep. Suddenly the ship's pa burst to life with the commanders voice. "Shit I cant even remember his name, good start John, good start." Then he realised a spare bunk across from his. "I wonder who's bunk that is"
