I'm a to-be author in beween jobs, I enjoy older types of media rather then the commercialized crap people make today.

In my opinion a character should never just be your imaginary self or have no discernible qualites. They should look and act fleshed out, and evolve just like real people. Roleplaying should not just be an escape, it should excorsise your creativity skills.
