Not necessarily; classes are there to formally teach how the program(s) in use works. I can only encourage the practice of doing online tutorials because that's the best way to develop and/or polish your skills. I, myself, am a tutorial freak. You eventually take ideas/techniques from those lessons ...

I took IT classes during high school for all the design fundamentals but, I plan on doing International Marketing and Computer Science as my major(s)/minor. I would of liked to have gone to an art institute however, I do not have that kind of money.
