Just the concept of our character being within a form of darkness and then suddenly seeing the world around them. They were both really similar in that way.

Maybe I'm slowly going insane. Who knows :P

Or even better: You know when pokemon run out of PP and they start using a move called "struggle"? If you don't, here's a video. Just a whole battle of struggling.

The real shame is that it probably could have been an epic battle if the two of us were at all competent at the time.

Yeah, it was loads of fun. Managed to find a friend that could get me an in on the tabletop world. Best part of the entire experience was when the wizard took out his crossbow and tried to shoot a goblin that was just passed me in his line of sight. He rolls something like a 4 and misses completely ...

Sorry I haven't replied yet Bird. I just finished my first ever session of Table Top RPing. It was really fun. Playing a rogue and killed a few goblins. I'm really surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It is a lot of on the spot thinking and improv. Real fun!
