Memories (Lyrics) ( )

Postby Dionysus on Sat Mar 12, 2011 6:09 pm

Thirty seven years is a long time.
A whole life, being depicted in a small rhyme.
A large crime...
Fifty seven years old, released straight from prison.
I'm on a mission, tryna get young brothaz to listen.
I used to love bein thugged out...
But somehow --
I dont love bein a thug now... unt-uh.
I wish that I, could turn back the hands of time.
And rewind, all the way back to 1999.
Before the lies, I wish God would have showed me signs.
I wish I could save Clyde.
I wish nobody got tried.
I wish nobody died, that Patterson was still alive.
So that Jeff still had time, and nobody would cry.
Damn...
I wish the Lord would restart the game.
So that we could replay, and take away the pain.
It's a shame, how some thingz change.
Like my man Pac said, thingz will neva be the same.
Still I maintain...
Still loyal to the game...
Still reppin for my niggaz in the Florida chain gang.
And if I ever make it through, I'ma stay true.
To the crew, who aint here now to spit the truth for you.
They'd tell you to stay in school.
Boy, don't be nobody's fool...
Only fifteen-years-old doin life homie, that aint cool.
And I guarentee, you dont wanna be like me.
Livin on the streets, runnin from the police.
And my enemies...
Watch me flee, as they chasin me.
Goin through life as an outlaw, rest in peace.
Cuz when I die, these will all just be memories.
Memories...

Very emotional, but a good song overall.
