Why, hello and thank you for reading my request.

Now bear in mind, my idea is not to stick at all to the Lord of the Rings story, rather I will use the character, Eowyn Eorl and create my own continuence or "spin-off" of her story. I would love to have about three to four, maybe five or six people join me in a literate, lengthy post roleplay based in a bit of older times.
Just a few things to note if you care to join me:
-Thus far I've not come up with a distinct storyline, though I see Eowyn falling in love in the future
-This is indeed an oldern times roleplay, thus please bear in mind that women at the time were not thought of very highly over men. The way I portray it is that women are to be respectful to men at all times, bowing to them when they greet, being respectful, etc. I take it as a sort of embedded and undisturbed rule of society, punishment is generally known to be "whipping", many who dare challenge the law are taken to a place in the town known at "the stake" and are generally given the death sentence (a clean slice to the throat)
-I take many of my ideas from midevil times, books, and movies. (Lord of the Rings, Scotland, Ireland, England, Britain, Braeheart etc.)
-I really rather prefer lengthy post, minimum of at least a paragraph and half (Keep in mind a paragraph is about 8 or so lines and contains at least 5 or 6 detailed sentences)
-I also prefer literate people. What is a literate person? Someone with good grammar, good punctuation, little errors, wide vocabulary, detailed and in-depth posts, no chat speak, can truely get into their character, etc.
-I am willing to work with anyone who is willing to join me and help them to become better writers, as I am sure they will help me too. It is a team process and we can all work together to make for a good roleplay I am certain.

A dwarf in Rohan, hm? Well, as I said the Rp is a bit more of a spin-off and is a bit more based into the future of middle earth, after the defeat of the dark lord, Sauron. Rohan is near mountains, perhaps now a-days the city has come to welcoming to the dwarves as suppliers of weapons and arms for the men and horses?

I'm reserving my spot right now so that I don't get booted for being the "one guy to many". If that made any sense......? still no clue on my character yet, though. I'll need a minute for this one.

Why thank you Artemus I would welcome you at any point of this RP of course. I think that we have about enough people now, perhaps I will post an OOC thread and we can all openly discuss the RP and ideas for it here until then.
Alas, are there any ideas or requests for plot? I have some my own, but I would like to make sire that everyone will like this RP and have their own contribution to it, that way they will be more inclined to stick with it.

well i think since we have 6 people we should like break off into 3 or 2 kingdoms.

Alright then, that sounds like a good idea. Perhaps the kingdoms would be in some way against each other? Maybe becasue of location and disputes over land, allies, etc?

For simplicity sake I say only 2 kingdoms... If we add 3 then It would be hard to balance everything out, plus that would create a party of 3 in each kingdom, making it an official group rather then 2 partners that probably argue about everything...

Name Ideas: Lefornor and Hastrone?

yea i think 2 would be better. im fine with the names, i couldnt come up with anything better.

next why are they at war? and who is going to be on each side?

The Kingdom Of Lefornor has always been A prosperous land, Lush and Green by the Sea, While Hastrone was a Kingdom in the mountains. Both had an uneasy truce, There Kingdoms History has always been at each others throats, yet they needed each Other.

The Kingdom of Hastrone could not produce much on the way of produce, and The only meat they could get was that of the birds. Lefornor On the Other hand, Had much food to Grow and raise, yet There City had no Ores to make there Tools, or there Buildings. Hastrone had Given them the Ores and Metals, while Lefronor had given them Meat and Produce.

They Relied on the others export, and it was no secret that both kings did not see Eye to Eye. They Both wanted the others land, so they would not have to rely on someone else.

One day However, The King of Leforner had been Murdered. The only thing that was known was that it was from a Knife, during a night, which a Hastrone Ambassador was staying Inside the castle.

The People Of Leforner Assumed the Hastrone had attacked and Killed there King, So Kings son, and New King of Leforner had Sent his armies into Hastrone, to avenge there King.

Hastrone, However, Insisted that they had no part of this, but it came to no avail. The King Hastrone decided to turn this into an advantage, to use it as an excuse to take the land he needed for so many years (He would have to now, No crops are comming in)

The King of Hastrone and the new King of Leforner had both assembled there 3 greatest Warriors, in order to slip through the others army and straight to each others King.

(Kinda Symmetrical ain't it.. well, I'm no writer...)

On one note, I would like to add that we will be accepting one more person into the RP, Bellstar, who contacted me via private message with a very good idea and was very formal and polite. She has a lot of experience in this type of roleplay and would be a great asset to us.

Back onto the topic of discussion; Angoth, these are very good ideas and I like them a lot. Quick note for you, when you used the word 'there' it was being used in a possesive form, so the propper spelling would be 'their'. The word 'there' is more of a directional approach as in 'the dog food is over there.' I think that the idea of a war may be just a little bit harder to play out as over time it becomes repetitive and hard to post lengthy and detailed replies, however that is only if the characters are involved in the war. So with that said, I would think that if we stick to this idea that the best option would be to play roles of people not involved in the war, but perhaps affected by it or living in the cities or something. Also, I would like to add that by the sounds of it the kingdoms are a great distance from each other, leaving an open option for my character's home in Rohan and the possibility of Bellstar's character being from Gondor, to be on the outskirts of the cities, causing the towns and people to be even more affected and leaving endless opportunities.

I'm getting to work on the official OOC thread for this soon, I just want to make sure that when I post it we have something to go on.

Eowyn, I was wondering if you would like and/or need a Faramir? He's my favorite LoTR character and I can play him fairly well. I don't know how closely you play your Eowyn to the canon one but the offer is there if you'd like it. I don't mind playing Faramir at all^^ If not I'll stick with my Gondorian boy, Calon. Or both. I wasn't sure if you wanted to have some romance , you mentioned in the opening post you think she might fall in love somewhere during this RP. Maybe you would rather keep it open to anyone and leave out Faramir?

Even if the LoTR aspects of this are going to be pretty alternate or nonexistent I can still play Faramir altered to fit into the setting.

Speaking of that, are we going to have the usual "overall evil threatening all" going on? Such as an alternate-Mordor staring down the backs of men? Or any armies of Orcs or other slobbering-meanness uniting the bickering human Kingdoms into some front?

It might be good to add a third party, Kingdom, or force to be a neutral ground for things. If we have an elf joining in, his (or her) homeland might work as a good neutral force, especially if we choose to go off these elves being the "unconcerned with the troubles of mankind" type. Or add some kind of negative aspect that might rise up to act as a unifying force later in the story. If we like that, here is a general idea of something it could be~

A human (or any fantasy race, doesn't matter) Kingdom in the far North, hardened and weathered by the long and bitter winters. These men are brutal warriors, their lives are hard, and they have a long and proud history of flawless war. The North once had two Kingdoms but one defeated the other many years ago and now rules the entire area. While the Northerners haven't made any moves to engage in war outside of their own land, the worry is always in the back of the minds of the other Kingdoms. They have talented warriors and weapons perfected by a war culture, despite their barbarian image they should not be underestimated.

Anyway, those are just some ideas/questions.

Finally figured out my character. Hes going to be a pretty old elf that isn't originally from middle earth. He likes to wander from place to place at random, so the people that know him usually refer to him as the wanderer. Once the ooc is up I'll post the full bio. And I was going to try to get Marcus in on this because we'll have loads of fun arguing, if it is alright with the miss of course.
