Midnight Perceptions: The Beginning

Postby Zairta on Thu Jul 03, 2008 5:29 pm

A light snow fell from the sky, the first of the season. No one really noticed the snow, just another part of the world around them. With all the technology and improvements of the way of life, humans hardly ever had time to pay attention to anything, let alone the snow. Each human was equipped with a personal screen that shows them whatever they want, whenever they want. Because of this, it was finally possible for vampires, demons, werewolves, and other creatures to live in the open, without having to hide all the time. But just because they didn't have to hide didn't mean there weren't problems. The greatest problem took place between the races, vampires versus werewolves being the greatest of the wars. Thus the world lived in a carefully balanced harmony, until something went terribly wrong...

Name: Durahan Faust
Realm: Rhine
Appearance: Stands at about 6 feet and 6 inches, Purple Eyes, long black hair, wears a long silver cloak with a hood. He is clad in a blacksteel armor and helmet.
Image
History/Bio: He was raised in Rhine, lving with his family who had a history of Vampires throughout the ages, and was under the Magick tutelage of his father, Kazad-dun. His Mother, Llewallin, was killed by his Brother, Evergrimm and his Father ran off; scared Evergrimm might go after him next. He is very persuasive, and it takes alot to anger him, but once he is angered, be goes into a berserk state. He was infected by the bite of his Vampiric Brother and, therefore, became one himself. He appears to be 37 years old in human years, but he has forgotten his true age.
Abilities: He wields a Magicked Broadsword, he has "above-average" speed and strength, thanks to his his Infection and can use the Darkness in various ways, through his Destruction Magick Training, which has been enhanced once he became a Vampire.

Durahan had just come back from an evening of drinking and chit-chattering. He was no longer under the influence of alcohol, but wished he had been. This city was not all he thought it might have been. "If only there was soemthing greater..." His face and long black hair were hidden under a helmet, which was hidden under a hood. He was clad in armor, but a great silver cloak engulfed his whole person. The rain was quite tiring to him.

<Kk that is fine xD your front post just with the little story kinda confuzzled me for a sec :p>

Lucian walked quietly tbroughout the Midnight, the moon was full at this time, and shone above him. Lucian was a Lycan, or simple to say a Werewolf, but also was a Vampire, both forms lived deep inside his soul, his parents neither to say his mother was a Vampire, his father Werewolf, though his father was killed, his mother killed not to long ago. Lucian didn't really care, he was a monster to most, and he didn't have feelings or emotion anymore. He smiled and stared up, as the snow fell gently, he loved the feeling. Sadly he felt so alone, so scared, he may be both, but he was only a child, and he longed to be Loved, more Motherly love than anything. He finally curled up agaisn't a tree, tears swelling in his small eyes.

<Sorry...>

Wandering aimlessly through the woods, Braeden stumbled upon a small creature curled up against a tree. He had heard the creatures thoughts long before he actually came into view, but Braeden was surprised by the youthfulness of what he found. After having been around for over 300 years, Braeden thought he was able to put an accurate mental picture to the thoughts he heard. This young creature surprised him. The level of thinking and the amount of suffering, these things Braeden only found in creatures of at least 150 years.

On his best behavior, Braeden changed his demeanor to that of a friendly passerby. Hands tucked neatly in his pockets, shoulders slightly hunched over, he addressed the creature with the mildest of interest. He noded slightly when he saw that the creature noticed him, and waited for whatever response would come. Despite his demeanor, Braeden was always prepared for an attack. Being able to hear other's thoughts, he always knew when an attack would come.

Lucian went on first thought and showed his fangs, on the outside he was a Vampire, but he could change into a Lycan without a second thought, both creatures living inside of him. As a wolf he also had wings, something far to his advantage. Finally he just stopped and stood up, sniffling, wiping his tears away with his palms. He wasn't sure who it was, and just shook his head acting like everything was fine. He kept holding onto the tree and moved around it until he was behind it. He stood there shivering, so cold outside, the snow feet under him, maybe further. Finally he darted in the direction he was pointing. He ran quickly, trying to get away, he tripped over a root, sticking far from the ground, his face getting burryed in snow.

Durahan cautiously went about walking through the city, disgusted by the humans. His Vampiric appearance was hidden under his hood and helmet, but he knew that others knew that something was...different with him. He walked past the two, one of whom, seemed to be having trouble with the snow. Durahan took a few steps forward...

Lucian looked up shaking the snow off his face. He hated this place, not that he was in pain, for what he was, he could handle himself, but he just hated it! He looked up kicking the snow up to see another figure. "Hey, whatever you are, go away, or I'll, I'll, you won't like what I can do!" Lucian said honestly, easily he could change, and bite his head off. He smirked stepping back, another tree, he backed up more and the other figure behind him. He felt boxed in, not that he was in danger, but he wasn't sure. He turned around scared to go the other ways, right nor left. He shivered and shook his head and ran towards the New Figure, using his Vampire Power, he jolted skidding under him and kept running.

Braeden chuckled to himself, Silly youngster. Everyone knew that running in the snow was not a good idea, especially in these parts of the woods. Braeden had lived here for most of his life, and he was pretty sure that he could find his way blindfolded. Suddenly the thoughts of another creature entered his ears, and he wheeled around to face the newcomer. He didn't like what he heard...

"What do you want?" he growled between closed teeth. He pulled back his lips tightly, so that his fangs were just slightly visible.

He watched as the youngster fled the scene, slightly more interested in the tall, cloaked and armored figure before him.

Lucian stopped turning. He was knowingly the first of his kind, and only. He smiled. "I'll show them something they've never seen!" Lucian looked up at the moon and began to change. He roared and howled at the moon and finally his skin broke up becoming Light White Fur, it blended with the Snowfall, almost making him look invicible. As he changed he looked and roared, his teeth piercing, and two of his teeth much longer than his others, stretching out of his mouth, Vampire Fangs. Behind him wings, stretching out far and wide. He roared and howled more coming to knock down the Dark Figure, for a kid, in this form, he was larger than the other two figures.

Durahan said nothing at first. Then his mouth curved into a smile beneath his armor. "You and I are one in the same, it seems. As well as part of your friend that is, at this moment, running." Durahan smirked. "I am Durahan Faust, and I think it would be good if all had a little chat." Durahan summoned the Darkness, which reached just far enough to trip up Lucian, hoping it would be enough to falter him. Durahan pulled out his magicked broadsword and his breath could be sene in the air.

"You know, I'm not really too big into chatting. But if you have something to say, be on with it. I don't have all day." And with that, Braeden quickly sat in the snow, landing softly. Chatting always leads to fighting, and Braeden wasn't a fighter. Fighting was so last century.

Lucian still a beast stood up roaring. He was trying to scare them. It seemed not to work and finally he just turned away and changed back quickly. "Fine!" He said running farther away, this time not coming back.

Durahan sighed and yelled to Lucian. "Hey! You! The one with the hair and fangs Get back here. Stop running for once in your tiny span of life and come over here." Durahan turned to Braeden and spoke. "I'll chat once our kinsmen come sback."

Lucian stopped and smirked. "Stupid!" Lucian stomped his foot and walked back. "What?!?!" He said seeming agitated. He wanted to be left alone, at first he was, but this two just had to come along. He smirked waiting for an answer.

"We're quite alike. You don't have to be quite so lonely anymore. I have a sob story, not sure about this one here, but, I know how you feel. To be mistreated to be thought of as...as a monster. Something that does not belong. But, it seems that something is going to happen, and soon. I am sure that you cna sense it, as well as I can. I think we should stick together, our kind."

Lucian didn't know what to say. He stared at the snow on the ground and just shook his head. "Okay.." He said astonishingly. Happy to make some sort of friend. He smiled and just crunched down turning into a Wolf. Him being what he was, had many tricks up his sleave, turning into a normal Wolf was one of them, or an actualy Werepyre, for what he called himself, being both creatures. As a wolf, he was also pure white, blending in the snow, out here was his natural home, letting him hide very well, he enjoyed it.

"I've been alone for as long as I can rememeber. I don't really work well with other people. But I suppose, in light of what is coming, I could manage to hang around you guys. I had a friend once, for a little while, and she had a special gift, much like I do. Her gift was much more useful to me, though I do enjoy mine. She could see the future, well the near future anyways. And only until someone changed their mind. Then the future would change. I suppose I could try to contact her, gather her to us. It might be useful to have her gift around, just in case. Just let me know..." And he waited in silence. Braeden had never seen a creature that could change so easily from one form to another. And he wasn't sure if the creature understood him now, so he mostly addressed the armored one.

"I'm Braeden, just so you know..."

Durahan nodded solemnly. "Times are hard...So, I think we shand band together, if we are going to survive whatever shall face us. Something is bound to happen soon, and frankly, I'd rather not have to face it alone." Durahan nodded once Braeden spoke. "I see, your friend's gift may prove to be very useful."
