Monthly Featured Artworks February Edition ( )

Postby Ingrid on Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:45 am

RolePlayGateway on deviantArt wants to feature YOUR artwork!

Every month, there will be a theme for you all to interpret and draw. It doesn't even have to be a sketch-- it could be a comic, animation, photograph, piece of writing, anything you want.

At the deadline, the one that reflects the theme the best will be uploaded onto the RolePlayGateway deviantart gallery (which is pretty empty, as you can see!), with the artist's permission, of course.

    Rules:
  • Please upload or link all images in this topic.
  • Submit as many entries as you wish.
  • Judges will be the Artwork Forum moderators Kasurin, Dovey, Yami-Dokuro, and Ingrid.
  • Any ORIGINAL digital medium accepted (including scanned words, audio recording, etc).
  • If you choose to use works that were not created by you (such as photos, images, or graphics), please cite your sources accordingly.

So let's get started!

Theme for February: Valentine's Day! (go figure, right?)
Deadline: February 14, 2008
NEW DEADLINE: Tuesday, February 12th, 11:59 pm, Pacific Time

---

Thanks for such a great turn-out, everyone!

In addition to the Artwork forum moderators, we also got some help from the deviantArt community. So, give a big thanks to these people by visiting their galleries:

Blaze-x42: Mr. Nice Guy and volunteering to judge other contests too.

BenPollack: Check out his writing! He was super-nice to judge AND comment (in great detail!) on all 13 entries for one measley critique.

skuatmraa: Ah mah gahd, look at his gallery.

I liked these entries so much I wanted to feature all three of them instead of one as originally planned.

Congratulations to the winners!

2nd Place:

3rd Place:

Lots of contests/competitions on RPGateway lately. Interesting, and disturbing, as no matter how good I am compared to the people around me, there are always people here on the forums better. Disappointing, and yet I look forward to seeing the submissions.

Enough of my moping! :)

I'm so excited you guys are interested!

jadelinghawkins, original characters are welcome. I love how you've depicted them in your own gallery ; )

HorusTheHeretic, don't be such a downer! I've seen your gallery! Even if you don't make it this month, you can try again the next! Besides, this will be judged based on your interpretation of the theme ; )

Can't wait to see your entry, tigerz-peace! :D

Hmm... what if it's something we already did for V-Day a year or so ago? I ask that because of the fact it takes a special circumstance to take V-Day as anything more than garbage and don't normally do anything for it.

If that's possible, I have this:

Ah, a competition, an excuse for me to do something xP

I was gonna do something for last year, but I didnt get to do it, do to no drive or anything. But now I have a reason! And it's a dA thing too, so double yay!

Also is there a rule as to how many things we can submit?

Okie Doke!! Here's my submission. A bit of James and Richelle (from Possibly Pirates) doing one of their many crazy impromptu dances. I imagine there would normally be a lot more of James flailing like the adorable loon he is, but it just didn't turn out that way in this one ^^''

Great submissions, all! Keep them coming.

Just some things to clear up:

Dovey: Anyone can enter, but let's make it a rule that judges can't. I forgot to mention that I'm getting the Artwork moderators to judge!

Ace Darkfire: Sure! You can go ahead and enter that.

Kijuki-X: You can enter as many entries as you wish!

jadelinghawkins: Thanks for the submission! : )

TEN MORE DAYS, EVERYONE!

Ok well I drew something in 2005 that resembled my feelings of Valentine's Day. It's the only thing I am gonna try and draw something soon, I haven't drawn anything in forever >_<

But yeah, if I don't get a chance to draw something NEW, here's my entry lol. (And if I can, I have two entries, cuz we can have more than one)

Ah, Dovey! I looked at your picture yesterday and thought it was awesome, but I just looked at it again and noticed the dead guy was Cupid. Hahaha.

-tard-

I'll hopefully be submitting something. Life is taking it's toll on me.
Today, Friday, October 10, 2009, is my last day on RolePlayGateway.com.
Everyone give me lots of love, because I shall be handing lots out. <3

Just a friendly reminder to use this upcoming weekend to slave over your entries for the Monthly Featured Artwork event! Which ends in less than a week!

Some changes:

NEW DEADLINE: Tuesday, February 12th, 11:59 pm, Pacific Time.

Sorry to pull such a fast one on you all. This is so our judges can have time to... you know... judge, and so we can reveal the winner of the first MFA the day of Valentine's Day.

I drew something for this! It's the first thing that came to mind when I thought of "Valentine's Day". I found a picture of Hayden Panettiere (she's so adorable) and used it as a reference lol.
