(Pronounced "Anooshka Valentina Petroveen")

age,, 19
appearance,, Anuschka stands at 5'7", taller than most girls. Her skin is far paler than the others in the town, inherited from her Russian parents. Her hair used to be brown, but lightened as she got older, and is now a dirty fair/blonde colour, which she usually wears loose; on special occassions, she piles it on top of her head in a bun. Naturally thin, with the grace and body of a dancer, Anuschka feels people are put off by her face, more specifically, her eyes; midnight blue, people say there's a hardness in there that unnerves them, even though it's just determination. If one looks closely at Anuschka's legs, they can see she walks with a limp, though she keeps why hushed up.
personality,, Shy and awkward, Anuschka has problems being around people other than her family; her Russian accent makes it hard for people to understand her, and she was never the brightest spark, so her English still isn't the best. Once you get past the language barrier though, Anuschka is friendly and open, telling people what they want to hear, offering words of advice, being a shoulder to cry on; or she would be if people didn't just view her as "the printer's daughter". Anuschka has aspired to be a dancer since she was a child, and was determined to become one, no matter what, until an injury ruined her dreams and stole her confidence, leaving her the shy, stuttering foreigner in the town.
history,, Anuschka spent the first fourteen years of her life in Russia, her home country. Life was simple then; her father had a good job, her mother stayed at home with her, and she went to school and dreamt of a future as a dancer, travelling with the Russian circuses and making her fortune. Then troubles started in her town, which resulted in quite a few deaths. Scared of what would happen to them, her parents packed up their things, and the family fled to England.
Once they were there, her father set up shop as a printer, and both her parents learned English from the books they printed and sold, though Anuschka was told to stay away from the other people in the town until she could be taught English. Lonely, she withdrew into herself, until she was finally taught to speak English on her fifteenth birthday. After months of learning, and not getting far, Anuschka grew restless being cooped up in the house, and being beaten when she didn't learn fast enough; she snuck out. Watching everyone go about their business, Anuschka didn't see the runaway horse-and-cart until it was too late, and it trampled her.
After spending weeks recovering, with Mr. Lancaster making many trips to her house to check her leg, and bleed it when it became inflamed, Anuschka was told that there had been problems when it had been healing; she'd never walk properly again, and her dreams of being a dancer were short down. After begging him in broken English to fix it, and being told he couldn't, Anuschka resented him for not being able to help him, and for years has barely said two words to those she doesn't have to talk to. As a result, she speaks mostly Russian, and has locked herself away from people, though her natural friendliness is trying to break through, making her just plain awkward; but her resentment for the doctor who couldn't cure her is still there.
