Music Resource for Beginners - Myna and Roc ( )

Postby Cleril on Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:23 pm

The following is a link to Aviary, which hosts both art programs and two music programs.

Myna will let you get the basics of any music editor although it's limited due to each clip holding all instruments while in other programs like MAGIX each clip is one instrument (as in you have more control over the sound of the song).

Roc let's you use very cheap sounding instruments to create your own clips (which you can then use in Myna). Personally I think the quality is too poor but this stuff is meant for those just wanting to make it a hobby or learn the basics.

Woo! Thanks a ton. This is really quite useful.

I use Garageband. It helps me with what little I dabble. I'll definitely check out this link.

Personally I would say anything that you download is going to be more powerful than either of these resources. But if you just want to learn some basic audio editing then these things can do just that. Their main issue is the lack of options, control, and Roc has pretty bad quality.

But it's free and there's no installations. Never used Garageband but I'd still say anything you can download is a better piece of audio editor.

Your welcome though!
