Her father blessed it some years ago and it’s believed that only the purest souls can wield it. Mususaki's wings aren't always at her back. She can decide whether or not they appear, and like ghosts, they do.

Background
Biography: Mususaki was born in a shrine outside of Yufuin, Oita in Japan. She lived her entire life on the beautiful land surrounding the shrine.
Her parents knew that she would be different. Her father was a demon, but not an evil one. Many people appreciate him for the many feats he had accomplished; however, he was still cast out by many people because of what he was. Kasha was Mususaki’s forefather, whom was the cat-like demon to feast on dead bodies before cremation.
Mususaki was home-schooled from the time she was five to protect her from prosecution. Since she was at such a young age, she wouldn’t have the strength to control the potentially dangerous entity she possesses.
As years had passed by, she learned the basic curriculum a normal Japanese student would get, and yet more. Her father had received the same traits as herself and knew how to use them well, therefore, he taught her how to use them. Later on, her father decided to teach her the basics of Aikido and Kendo. As the years went on and she had accepted the information well, he moved her onto bigger things.
Although the wakizashi was an unorthodox tool of using Kendo, he passed down Akemi, the sword of the light, and blessed by the Gods. Her father sealed a pure power into the sword, customizing it for his daughter to wield. Impure souls would find it hard to wield, seeing as how it would burn the hand that touched it, eventually eating away at their body and soul with the light.
Some time after Mususaki’s seventeenth birthday, she seriously pondered the reason why ordinary humans wouldn’t accept people like her and her family. Her mother would do most of the shopping and cavorting about the human society. Yet, many people whom were unafraid of her family came to their shrine for ceremonies, or simply to pray. Why did others avoid them?
Were they scared? Did they just see them as too different? What was the reason…?
Mususaki decided that she would learn these questions’ answers best if she could investigate them on her own. One cool summer night, she packed most of her belongings and started to leave home when her father stopped her.
His exact words were, “I don’t want you to leave here. People can be cruel, and you’re too kind to be hurt that way.” Mususaki refused to stay. She didn’t want to be kept here anyway. If she could bring justice to her family, then maybe others will be appreciated as well. Her father understood her decision and handed her Akemi. “Use it well and bring justice to us all,” Were his last words to his eldest child.
From time to time, Mususaki revisits her home to discuss her adventures, but for now, her life is on the open road…
