Need help getting people interested ( )

Postby Mr D on Sat Sep 06, 2008 4:26 pm

Hi. I'm fairly new to the site and came looking for a place to try out some of my ideas. I set up a couple of interest checks in the appropriate forum and added the background information to the setting I had developed. However it's been almost a week now and no one seems to be interested. I've never really been involved in RPing like this before (most of my previous experiece the players already knew each other and the setting was already developed, so no need for interest checks and the like). I'm not upset or anything, just a little confused. Did I do something wrong? Do I just need to wait longer?

Is there anyway I can attract people to join? Or do I just need to suck it up and scrap the ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Ehh..Give it time. Check on them here and there, but come up with new ideas. Whenever you get an idea, post it up and such. Not all Rp's will get responses. I've seen and had some Rp beginnings, but seen them go nowhere. You did nothing, your Rp's just arn't the flavor of the week. But I will say this, over time, if they don't get any attention, edit the first post you made, so it'll shoot back to the top of the new posts and you can try and get attention. =] Also, if you like to start Rp, i'd like to have to come along to my forum, since we are new, and get some Rp going. Anyways, my site is on my clan advertisement in the Clans/Guilds/Organizations section of the forum. But yeah, you did nothing, you're just not what they want at the moment.

Well my favorite way to advertise is to put in the topic in capitol letters " NEED PEOPLE BADLY"
It works most of the time.....and usually increases view count

Thank you all for the advice. I guess I'l wait for the time being. I'm not in any rush and it would be good to get a feel for the place and get to know the style of posting and some of the people involved before starting. :D I just saw some of the topics posted after mine racing ahead and thought I might have been approaching it the wrong way.

I'll bide my time for now. 8)
