need a little help with design... ( )

testing-testing-one-two-three-t65563.html

My testing thread up there I made to try to make a roleplay, but I can't seem to get the words right. I am going for the Queen's words on the left side of the picture, and the mirror's words on the right. Any idea on how I can do this?

This kitty is just as cute on the left.

As it is on the right!

That work for you? If not you can always take the image, save it, expand it's dimensions, and fit your text into the image itself.

But I wanted the words to be cascading down the sides of the picture because there are multiple lines of dialog, and more after that. But maybe it won't be possible....it's looking that way.

Tell you what, send me a private message with the image and all the text you want (label them which side please).

I'll take the image and just put the text on the image itself.

Unless you know how to do this then by all means go for it. Otherwise I can handle it.

I can't say it will be done right at the moment but within a few hours probably.

No problem! If you make the places where you put the text the same color as this board you can kind of make it have the illusion of a post.

Otherwise you can use graphics skills to make it more interesting (have the text on the mirror and alter lines from the speaker and the response, just an idea).

Okay. Sorry. Let me try and get this straight. Are you trying to get the words to wrap around the picture? I figured out a way to do that ages ago. If that's what you want, I can dig up the code from some old character bios ..

he must balance sudden stardom with his destructively dysfunctional family.

Here is the character I was talking about. Click the link, that's what you want, right?

Add directional tags to the image, and put it at the start of your text. Try and see what happens. You may need to fill out the rest of the text before it'll wrap, but here it is anyways.

So here's the code I used, at least, a part of the profile.

Code: Select all
[left][img]http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/218/2/2/Commission_1_by_tsong_ming_yi.jpg[/img][/left]

[quote]Good grief. Just what I need. Smarter bad guys, and less competent agents ... [/quote]

[b]Appearance:[/b] Coming from good Dutch stock, Liesha is tall, blonde-haired and blue-eyed. She's pretty, but the demands of her job have worn at her both physically and emotionally.

As she has little time to worry about hair, Liesha is usually seen with her sleek, silky tresses lashed hastily into tight braids. With her lips usually pursed in disapproval and her eyes hardened from the cynical things of law enforcement, Liesha appears far older than her years.

[b]Personality:[/b] Liesha bustles through her day wielding caustic wit and cutting disapproval like Swords of Truth. She's acerbic, brusque - set firm in what she believes, stubborn to the point of danger. She has a short temper not helped at [i]all[/i] by chronic ghost-pains in her leg from a childhood injury. Liesha has very little patience for co-workers, friends, enemies, even herself.

[quote]Really, guys? [i]This[/i] is your solution?[/quote]

These standards come from necessity, however. With an entire office of agents waiting on her call, Liesha has little room for error. She's been known to throw herself completely into cases, bending arms and rules to achieve an end. To her, justice isn't just an intellectual exercise. She views it as something tangible that can be readily achieved - through force, if need be.

Predictably, there's not much to say about Liesha's social life. When she's not actually at the office or on the scene, she's at home pouring over casefiles. Her job is her life; she loves it and hates it.

[b]Equipment/Abilities:[/b] Liesha has a fiery arsenal of both spells and verbal darts at her disposal. Her proficiency as a witch aside, she also carries a 10 millimeter pistol, and has a decent boxing stance. For better or for worse, she's quicker to reach for the gun than her wand.

A childhood accident left Liesha with both permanent nerve pain in her left leg, and a curious healing ability. Any broken bones or lacerations mend instantly, as though they hadn't ever happened - except the pain never fully goes away. Liesha suspects it simply displaces itself and continues to dwell in her leg. It leaves her with a pronounced limp at all times. This only adds to her cheerful demeanor.

Give that a run. See what happens.

Oh, I already tried that. See these are the codes I have in so far...

Code: Select all
[center][size=400]♏[color=#BFBFBF]irrøя[/color] ♏[color=#BFBFBF]irrøя[/color] øη  T[color=#BFBFBF]♄e[/color] ω[color=#BFBFBF]αll[/color][/size][/center]

[left][size=90]Who is the fairest, of them all?[/size][/left]
[right][size=90]You are...for now...[/size][/right][left][size=90]For now? Explain.[/size][/left][center][img]http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g361/that_one_guy701/Decorated%20images/Mirror_Mirror_On_The_Wall_by_swimmingwiththekids.jpg[/img][/center]

irrøяirrøя øη T♄e ωαll

Who is the fairest, of them all?

You are...for now...
For now? Explain.

and when I try to put the text after the image it just shows up on the bottom. But I want a back and forth dialog that has the mirror's words coming down the right of the page, and the Queen's words coming down the left side of the page, with the picture in between the both of them. But like I said, I'm not so sure it's possible...

I'm not so sure it is, either. Here's why.

Text by default wraps around an embedded image. To have the effect you're looking for, you'd need a three-column Word document (one on either side for the dialogue, the mirror in between), which is a tad too sophisticated for BBCode to handle. I'm no expert, though.

How about this? The mirror is at the top of the description, then the Queen and the mirror trade off dialogue in different color texts underneath? That's far more doable and has mostly the same effect. Plus, people see just a mirror, they'll want to actually scroll down to get to the text, and before you know it they've read the entire post.
How long will he keep on fighting? How long will his pain last? Maybe only the X-Buster on his hand knows for sure...
