Hey everyone! I'm totally new to this site & role-playing altogether. So please be patient with me & maybe someone will be kind enough to show me how it all works. My name is Bella. I'm 21 yrs. old. I'm not exactly a writer but I really like to read and just escape from the world sometimes. So many of my friends suggested I get into role-playing. However, I've been too shy to have them show me how it's done. Especially since they have been doing it for years and know exactly what they are doing. lol. So yeah anyone want to get to know me, send me a message.
I'd appreciate any help and guidance :) Also I'd like to start a role-play soon, preferrably one for beginners.

My name's Will and I'm new here as well. If you are interested in learning the ropes I suggest that you follow where the Mods usually point: the Role Play Academy! I skimmed through a couple of tutorials, and it seems very informational and helpful for newbies such as myself!
If you are going to start a role-play for starters, sign me up!

Looks like you've already met Will, one of our friendly (and newest!) members here in our fantastic community. We are a veritable army of storytellers, and you'll find a place once you get settled in. Don't worry about being new to the craft!
Here's a link to the Role Play Academy that Will mentioned. It's an awesome place full of helpful guides, articles, and general topics on theory for those just getting started in roleplaying, or those already well-versed and looking for some new tips and tricks.
The Multiverse is a good RP for you to start in, and get a feel for our unique system of roleplay here. I'm usually floating around there, so come find me and I'll walk you through how this all works!
Also, one thing you might want to know is that before you can use your inbox to send/receive private messages, you'll have to make ten forum posts. Click that link there to hear a bit more on why that is, and to actually see an index of helpful links to get that number out of the way!

I actually started my time here at the Gateway in almost the same fashion - I was into reading & getting lost in my own imagination - I wanted to take a step deeper. RPG is the perfect place for that.
Here is the Rules and Regulations and the Romance Policy here at RPG! It's always best to review those just so you're up to snuff on all the new stuff!
You’ll also notice the RPG Forum tab. Here you'll find anything and everything! No, really! There's a forum called The Creative Realm that you can post artwork and creations in. There is also a forum called Interest Checks where people talk about what kind of roleplays they would be interested in starting. And, of course, the Roleplayers Wanted forum, where GM's can advertise for their newly started roleplays!
As VV and Will have already pointed out, there is also a great section called The Role Play Academy. Here you can ask questions, get advice from the Scholars, read tips and pointers from the pros, etc. If you're looking for some advice/brushing up your skills/help becoming a better role player (because -seriously- who isn't!) I would definitely suggest poking a Scholar!
Though my greatest advice? JUST JUMP RIGHT IN!
