New role player here ( )

Postby jennula on Sun Sep 28, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi, I'm jennula and thought it would be fun to join this site. I've been role playing on forums and AIM since 2000 on a role playing community, but as the years went, the member numbers got smaller and now there's about no activity at all on the site. Hence why I'm trying to find a new place to have fun with. I hope I'll fit in here someway XD I have played a lot of my RPs in a modern day setting, but has also tested some sci-fi and fantasy stuff. I'm a bit biased towards fantasy, I must admit, and I prefer lighthearted stuff rather than super-serious (although I have nothing against some drama too, as long as it's not too serious and dark and stuff).

I'll check around the site a little more tomorrow, I need to get some sleep before work tomorrow, but this seems like it could be a fun place. And also? English is not my native language, so please bear with me if my grammar and spelling sometimes are wonky ;) I'm doing my best, but it was ages since I had a proper English class.

Would you be interested in this experimental realistic (PG13) roleplay?

Also, what is your native language?

May 2012: I'm currently researching roleplaying and need any roleplayers to take an anonymous survey. It takes an average of 25 minutes to complete. This is part one, and the second survey will be released soon.

Welcome, Jennula! For a Swedish-native, your English is quite commendable! Better than a few of the English-natives I know, both on and away from the internet.

I'm sorry to hear you're RP communities have shrunk so much over the years. But, that's how hobbies go, I suppose. This place is pretty big, so I don't imagine you'll have a hard time finding something to catch your interest.

I highly suggest checking out the Rules and Manual threads in the Main Lobby and Welcome Desk. Every RP website is a little different. RPGateway isn't packed with rules, but it has its own general guidelines. If you ever need any help, members and staff are always available for contact!
I am available as an RP mentor should you seek to improve.
I draw things that you may like.
I like Ronald Jenkees and you might, too.

I require a certain level of writing skill in my stories. Don't be insulted, I just prefer to RP novel-level material. (I, I, I, me, me, me. I sound like such a jerk.)

Your English seems fine to me. Welcome to our forum. Have a fishy stick!

Don't mind him; his car just crashed and it wasn't insured, so he's a bit grouchy.

By the way, I have a rather lighthearted medival fantasy RP going. Very, very lighthearted indeed: chronicles-faerilandor-ooc-open-t11193.html

If you've got any questions about the website, go ahead and ask. I'll answer to the best of my ability.

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
