Derek heard the scream too, but didn't react as fast as Annabelle. He was surprised at how fast she took off. Instead of following, Derek headed back to where the other vampires were. He walked toward the coffee shop, taking up his post near the entrance again. He waited for other members of his coven, or one of the newborns he was looking out for.

Joselyn walked down the dark streets, keeping her eyes peeled for any of the vampires she had seen in the area. The other two had vanished more quickly than she thought possible, and she was a little miffed. She jammed her hands in her pockets to protect them from the chilly night air, and continued to stalk down the streets. The vampires would pay for what they did to her brother. This single thought kept her going when she felt down.

Pretty soon, she spotted a few vampires. One, a guy, looked like a mature one, but the one he was holding down looked like a newborn. They were arguing back and forth, then another one walked up. Apparantly, this one wasn't too old, but could control itself. She didn't bother hiding from them, knowing they could smell her from a mile away, so she just watched, waiting for one to notice her.

On the way back to her tree Annabella passed the vampires and newborns again. She sighed. Still fighting like morons. She barely glanced at them but she smelled a human among them. Her eyes met those of a young girl watching the vampires spitefully. She may be in danger.. but it's best not to get involved.. Annabella sighed and walked a bit then sat down on a bench. If the girl was attacked, she would be nearby.

Kiana had long since left the little group, not really wanting to get caught like she predicted they would. She walked around, not really paying much attention to where she was going. Since it was night, not a lot of humans were out. She smiled to herself. Well, she was a vampire out at night. Way predictable. She blinked and frowned, finding herself back at the way holding down the newborn. They were still here?! She didn't bother approaching. Suddenly she was alert. She sniffed experimentally... Was that a....? Yes, there was a human watching. not very good. She glanced to the side, and noticed for the first time a human girl watching the encounter. Much to Kiana's surprise, the girl didn't seem the least bit shocked. She frowned again, observing the girl.

Joselyn became a little worried when she noticed another vampire approach. One was preoccupied with a newborn, but she wasn't even sure she could take on one vampire...

She realised she was outnumbered, and it made her a little uneasy, but she didn't let it show. They could smell fear. She took one step toward the vampire, pulling her gun out of the holster on her belt. She lifted it up until it was pointed at the female's head, and grinned a little. She knew the vampire would be confident, but Joselyn knew more than they suspected.

Derek was getting tired of waiting, so he decided to go for a walk. After a few blocks, he caught a whiff of a group of vampires all in the same general area. Deciding to go check it out, he shifted his direction. Two more scents made themselves known; a human, and a newborn. He was having a busy night already.

Once he reached his destination, he saw the human, a young lady, pointing a gun at another vampire. He couldn't supress a chuckle. Humans were frightened so easily. They were so emotional and fragile, and that was why he liked them so much.

Joselyn heard a chuckle behind her, and looked over her shoulder, but kept the pistol trained on the female. Another vampire?! Now she was scared. This one was male...she wondered if they all knew each other. They had to, there was too many in one area for this to be a coincidence.

Kiana looked at the girl who was pointing a gun at her, shocked. Of course, the gun wasn't going to harm her. No, she probably wouldn't even feel the bullets.But not only could that be pretty reveling, but why was this girl pointing a gun at her in the first place? Unless..... She hissed quietly under her breath and subconsciously shifted into a defensive crouch. Alright, so this girl was either a psychopath or she knew about vampires. Of course, the latter couldn't be possibly, or she would have been taken out by now. So she settled for mentally insane.

Damian smiled, "I can teach how to not get killed," he told the newborn. "As surely everyone around here would love the chance to kill us all." He smiled at her a charming smile, baring his fangs in the process. "Don't worry though I'll pretend as if i never saw you, if you don't want my help.

Meanwhile Elipsophine grew bored of the childish games and drifted away from them. She was looking for a little excitement and wondered what awaited for her down the road. After quite some time, and following the scent of blood of course, Elipsophine found some human pointing a gun at another female vampire. There was a male there too. He was probably coming to the defense of the female. Though she was new to the vampire life she thought mated pairs of vampires were unusually defensive of each other. She didn't know, but she decided to watch the proceedings. Then again she thought it might not be wise. She was getting hungry again and the human with the gun seemed to be the only one in the immediate area.

Annabelle could hear the conversation of the vampires behind her and she raised an eyebrow as she sensed several more people approach the group. She would have thought they were a coven but there were a few problems with that theory. One, a vampire was threatening the newborn and two, covens rarely met out here in the open. These ignorant vamps would expose everyone if they weren't careful. Annabelle sighed and remembered again that this was none of her concern. She walked back to her tree and layed herself down. She kicked off her black leather boots and closed her eyes, trying to get to sleep as dawn began to arrive.

Joselyn flinched a little when the vampire shifted. It looked ready to attack, and that made her nervous. She was aware of another vampire behind her, and if it decided to attack, she wouldn't stand a chance. Joselyn lowered the gun slightly, glancing back over her shoulder. He hadn't moved. What were they doing? There were two of them, and only one of her...if they were going to attack, wouldn't they have done so already? She turned to her left slightly, so she could keep an eye on both vampires.

Derek saw the female shift to a defensive stance. He decided to step in before this got out of hand. There were too many newborns in the area for any kind of fight at all to take place. He took slow, deliberate steps toward the human, making sure he didn't look tense. "Calm down, we aren't going to attack you, if that's what you think." He told her as gently as possible. Her eyes looked panicked and afraid.

Joselyn heard him speak and jerked her head around, "Don't come near me!" She shouted, pointing the gun at the male's chest.

Derek was unfazed by the weapon, but he did stop. "Trust me, you don't want to be in this area at the moment. We're actually trying to help you..."

"Lies! All you leeches think about is the best way to drain someone!" She said bitterly. "You're all the same!"

Kiana's eyes shifted towards the male. Yes, it was true she hadn't been planning on attacking, simply on defending herself if necessary, which she doubted. Her eyes widened as she listened to the girl speak. How in the world did she realize they were vampires? She straightened out of her crouch and her confusion seeped into her expression for a moment before she cleared it and took a timid step forward.

Joselyn caught the other vampire's movement out of the corner of her eye. She wheeled around, pointing the gun at her. They were closing in on her! Panic began to set in, and it took all of her willpower to not pull the trigger. She wanted answers. As she was focused on the female, the gun was suddenly not in her hands. Her face first revealed shock, then terror, when she realized she wasn't armed. She looke around frantically for her weapon, and found it. The male had it in his hand. How had he moved so fast? Now she was truly afraid. She reached down to her boot deperately and grabbed the small dagger.

Derek shook his head. "You'll do about as much damage with that thing as you would to an oak with a tooth-pick." He said, still grinning. Derek began to walk off, he didn't want to scare the girl anymore than he had to. Besides, the newborn down the road was more interesting than this anyway.

Joselyn shouted toward the male, "Get back here! I'm not finished yet!" But he ignored her and kept walking. She gave up and turned back toward the female.

Kiana couldn't help but grin. That was simple. She watched the male leave for a couple minutes, gun in hand before turning back towards the girl. She looked terrified. Kiana frowned slightly before putting her hands up. "I come in peace." She tried lamely. When that didn't work she put her hands down and rolled her eyes. "Honestly, I'm really not thirsty. And personally, you really don't smell that good." She thought about it for a second. "No offense." She tacked out the end. Kiana looked at the girl curiously. She was the first human to be afraid of her really. To most humans, she was a normal, harmless fourteen year old. It was.... interesting seeing something beside some sort of animal trembling before her. Still.... She put her hands up again and took another step forward.

Joselyn took a step back when the monster approached her. "Don't come any closer!" She warned, though she knew the threat was empty. She suddenly felt helpless. The only other time she'd ever had that emotion was when her brother...she shoved the thought from her mind, and focused on the vampire coming toward her. The girl looked young. She must've been around 14 or 15 when she was changed. Joselyn wondered if she had been transformed by will, or forced into it.

Either way it didn't matter now. She was a monster, and didn't deserve to be on this Earth.

She stopped and frowned at the girl, placing on hand on her hip in annoyance. "Geez, what's that going to do> It's not like you'd be able to stop me anyways." Nevertheless, she stopped moving. Again, she wasn't used to people being so frightened of her. She decided she didn't like it. "Didn't you hear me? I'm not going to bite you." She smiled at the literal sense of that phrase but then looked back at the girl, in mild concern. This time, she didn't walked slowly. She ran, by her side before she could blink. She cocked her head to the side and looked at her.

Elipsophine Watched the proceedings in amazement. When the male unarmed the girl she seriously thought about attacking her. She knew that odds were she was faster then the male or female vampires anyways. Then she noticed the male vampire was coming down the road towards her. Her eyes grew wide. What could he possibly want? She didn't know if he was just going to pass her by or actually try and talk to her. She bit her lower lip as she debated trying to hide. She decided it would be useless, he had already seen her.

She looked at him suspicously for a moment, taking a few steps back just in case it was a trap to catch her off guard, "Why would you want to help me?"

Damian smiled, "Well because you are new to this way of life. And its in the rules. An adult vampire is suposed to help any newborn it finds. There are all sorts of odd rules vampires are suposed to follow, some don't. I've always wondered what would happen if we didn't, but either way I would help you anyways." Damian gave her a broad grin, "For one, you're cute. For another, I like to help people who need help."
