Flyte dropped his smile instantly. Apparently Syra wasn't one to joke when something serious was happening, which was understandable. Most people weren't, but whatever. Flyte let it go, and stared at the tree. It was a marvelous sight.

"In the tree?"

Flyte was really confused now.

"How should I know? My father is a very mysterious man, and one not to trifle with, although he is quite the trickster."

Syra smiled as certain memories flooded back.

"Do you ever think that humans know we have a life just like them? A family, just like them?" Syra's voice drifted off as she searched around her.

Flyte thought about it for a second.

"Honestly? I've never thought about it."

Syra sighed.

"I've been thinking about it. Ever since we started with that man from behind the statue. We don't always kill, I only kill when I need to.."

Flyte let out an uneasy cough.

"You know, maybe it's because that's all they see on the news. You know, the same way that people are racist. All they see on TV is negativity and crime and associate those with ceartin races, so they suddenly think that all people from that race are like that. And hey, we shouldn't be so judgemental of humans either. If you want people not to judge you, the first thing you've got to do is not judge people."

"Well I know that. I don't judge. I used to have a best friend who was a human but she got old. It was sad."

Syra looked around her uneasy. Where was her father?

Flyte let out another sigh. This investigation wasn't going anywhere. Then he had an idea.

"Perhaps the tree is hallowed out, but from the top rather than the trunk."

Without another word, Flyte climbed the tree with ease to investigate.

Syra stayed on the ground and let him do the work. She wasn't in the mood for climbing. She examined her cuticles for a bit before looking up.

"See anything?"

((Mmk. I wasn't sure if you already had something planned or not.))

"I think. Just hang on a second."

There was series of knots that seemed to rotate, push, and pull. When the moved, a series of clicking noises would follow. Continuing to turn, push, and pull, the top of the tree opened up under his feet like a trap door, and Flyte fell through. The tunnel was long, dark, and wodden. With all his might, Flyte punched into the tree, and caught himself.

"Syra! I found something!"

Flyte chuckled a little bit, and started to slowly make the rest of the way down the tunnel. Eventually, his feet met a ground, and he was greeted by two torches and large, golden door. Not sure if it was a trap or not, he yelled again for Syra.

"You might want to get down here. It's basically a really big shadow, so you shouldn't have any problem getting here."

Flyte looked up, and saw nothing but black. Syra probally would see nothing but black when she looked down, for the tunnel had a slight curve to it. Probally to block the torch light from getting out.

Syra leapt up, her hands gripping a branch she swung up, her legs catching the next branch. She swung again and reached up with her hands and swung down into the tunnel. She fell, curved and then landed on her feet beside Flyte.

"What's this now?"

She questioned staring at the door.

"I'm not sure. I figured you would know. And besides, it is, afterall, your father, so this might be some kind of blood-relationship thing, where you can only open it if you're a blood realitive. I wasn't ready to risk giant spikes and falling floor for it either."

Flyte laughed, and grabbed the other torch, handing it to Syra.

Syra smirked and grabbed the torch. She looked at the door finding a small indent for a finger. She looked inside and saw nothing out of the ordinary. She thought for a second before biting her finger and allowing blood to flow. She stuck her bloody finger into the hole. The door seemed to glow more and slowly creaked open.

"You first." she said.

She did not remove her finger afraid the door might close if she removed it.

Flyte stared in amazement at the door. It amazed him at all that vampires were capable of, especially stuff he didn't even know could happen. Stepping through the door, Flyte didn't see anything. The room was dark, except for the small amount of light that his torch emitted. Taking a step forward, Flyte gave room for Syra to enter.

"C'mon in. I can't see a damn thing."

Syra raced through quickly. When she removed her finger, the door began closing immediantly. She had left her torch behind. She took a step forward and realized that there were stairs decending downwards. She found a railing and grabbed Flyte's arm.

"Stairs." she said as she began downwards.

Flyte was startled. How could she tell that there were stairs when he couldn't see a thing? It made sense now. She was the blood-realative so she could tell where everything was. If, somehow, someone managed to get in that wasn't related by blood, all they would see would be a pitch-black room and probally fall down the staircase.

"This is all so, so...amazing. I would've never known that we, vampires, could posess so much talent. Somethings I find just blow my mind."

Syra grinned and took him by the hand.

"We are capable of so much more. My father can teach us the secrets of the past and the future."

She let herself say us instead of her. She knew Flyte would be interested in learning their capabilities. She continued downwards. She sensed there were certain paths leading in all different directions but she could also sense when they should turn and when to continue straight.

((Sorry I left the other day. Stuff at the house and all that.))

Flyte smiled, but still confused. Following Syra, they came to the bottom of the staircase, yet Flyte still couldn't see anything, so he wasn't sure what was going on. Then, suddenly, a hallway of torches ignited and Flyte covered his eyes and gave a slight hiss. Letting his eyes adjust to the sudden change of light, he dropped his torch, seeing as they didn't need it now, and walked down the hallway. The same tree was on the hallway and, as Flyte watched, there were torches igniting and extingushing. Through further investigation, Flyte came to the conclusion that they weren't torches at all, but actually flames on the wall that were burning, but not burning the wall.

"You don't think the flames represent people that are living do you?"
