Tempy was still in the process of cursing her idiocracy, when the kid with his Staff of Doom walked up to her. He slammed a nail with a piece of paper attached into the table/desk. "Hey, Temp, hows it going? Noticed your a little red...if you need me to whack anybody, drop me a line. Heres my number. Remember, if someones pushin yah around, I'll whack 'em," he said as the teacher got onto him. Temperance shuttered realizing how close the nail had been placed to her hand. As the teacher was distracted, Darius got up and came over. Tempy had looked up at Jeff and now saw Darius sneaking over. Oh, crap! she thought.
"Here maybe this will make you feel better," he said softly, handing her a piece of paper, one hand resting lightly on her shoulder. She looked shocked but the took the paper and listened as he read it out loud to her.
"She isn't like the others, she never follows the crowd.
Her words dont show her actions, its her actions that make her words.
Her hair flows in Autumm wind, and flows without a care
She isn't like the others, she is without a care."
Her face still showed shock, but her eyes showed awe, surprise, and joy. She wasn't warring internally anymore, her heart melting with his words. His voice just flowed so smoothly, showing the care he'd put into each word. Tempy had lost sight of everything going on, sounds as well, and was looking at Darius. He mistook her look for confusion and non-comprehension.
"Hey, I know it was random and some of it doesn't make sense, but anyway, I hope you like it, Temperance." And Temperance didn't like it...she loved it. Her heart was burning and melting and it never seemed to stop around him. As he uttered the last of his sentence, she threw herself at him, placing both arms around his neck in a big hug. Not once had anyone done something so sweet for her! She pulled away, sniffling a little, eyes watering just a tad. Temperance gave him an embarrassed smile and began to dab at her eyes. She laughed a little and said, "Hah, sorry. *sniff* That was really sweet; I love it, Darius." Tempy placed a hand on his gently. "Thank you, Darius. I really do love the poem," she said smiling.
Meanwhile, Jeff, the kid with the staff, had gotten up and hit the teacher in the head with his Staff of Doom, refusing to leave. He sat down in his in his seat, a smirk on his face. Had Tempy not been so distracted, she'd have thought it was little funny. Not the hitting the teacher, but the smirk plastered on his face as he very deliberately sat. On the other side of the room sat Vincet with his laptop. The teacher had reluctantly given up and sat at the computer. Vincet typed rapidly and suddenly the teacher freaked out, his screen going blank, and the PC not responding whatsoever.
Temperance was aware of everything going on, her head clearing up a little, sounds re-entering her world, but was still too distracted with Darius to notice anything else.
