The war went on in her head. Her sense and desire were fighting viciously against her embarrassment and actions. If they had been little action figures that had suddenly come to life on her desk, it would have been quite a hilarious show. Sadly, they weren't and instead of making her giggle, it made her sad. Polar opposites... she thought. Too bad these don't opposites don't attract...

She laughed a little huff and looked over at Darius. He was looking away now, too. She felt responsible and her face fell. Damn, Temperance! You certainly are on a roll today..WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?! "I don't know..." she mumbled in a saddened voice.

Temperance noticed that Jeff was standing over the teacher. The teacher announced just after that they all got a free ride to A's and B's. Though, this made her happy, she felt a little wary.

The next bell rang and Darius saw that Temperance was sad, he walked up beside her "Hey Temp why are you so sad? Either way I never want you to be sad. Look usually I'm not very social with anybody but with you I just feel ..different. And I just wanted you to know that you are precious to me." Darius had never felt like this.

The bell rang, but Temperance didn't immediately get up. Darius came over to her though, as he'd gone to collect his stuff, and spoke to her very caringly. Temperance looked up as he spoke. "Hey, Temp, why are you so sad? Either way I never want you to be sad. Look, usually I'm not very social with anybody, but with you, I just feel...different. And I just wanted you to know that you are precious to me."

Temperance about lost it right there. Everything he said to her was just so sweet and her heart was melting like wax on a candle that's been lit for an hour. It was ridiculous! Her eyes quickly softened and sparkled as she looked at him. She got up and hugged him tight. "Thank you," she said. Then she grabbed her stuff, needing to leave before she totally broke down, and hopped on her board. She pushed off, but stopped at the door to look back at a very bewildered Darius. Temperance waved and smiled before heading off down the hall.

Phew! That was close. As much as I wanted to stay with him, I just couldn't. I can't breakdown. I won't break down, no matter what. she told herself as she neared a long declining ramp. She smiled with excitement, "Down I go! Woo!"

Darius blushed and laughed softly as she skated down the hallway. Darius breathed a sigh of releif "I thought I would never say it." Darius slowly walked to his next class;he looked at his scheduel and saw that he had Chemistry next and was actually happy about it.

"come one, pull your self together Jeff, seriously, do it! don't look down. don't look up." But no matter what he said to himself he couldn't move. "god, i hate heights." right after that, his body began to move on its own, without any help from Jeff's head. he took one step at a time, one foot in front of the other. eventually he made it to about a foot away from edge of the 5 story building. his head instinctively looked down. "oh crap" said Jeff. he was once again, paralyzed with fear. he could barely breath. he regained control long enough to text 3 people. haru, temp, and darius. the messages were all the same. "plz come 2 roof"

Temperance didn't remember what class she was supposed to go to next, so she pulled the list from her back pocket. Unfortunately, just as she looked back up, she ran into bolted down trash can and went flying over it, landing on her right side. AHH! was all she'd had time to think.

"Shit!" she said, clutching at her arm. She didn't think it was broken, but it hurt a lot. That's what happens when you don't pay attention! "Damnit," she cursed, laying her head back on the ground, "now I'm gonna be late..to..to...Chemistry...I think." She didn't even remember the class...Ugh! She decided to just lay there until someone found her. Tempy was in too much pain at the moment to do anything.

((Gotta get off for a few hours. I'll be back though))

He turned around after getting tappped on the shoulder with a fist dran because he thought the teacher was gonna try something smart. But when in turned out to be a student he relaxed.

"Hmph, Haru huh? Well sup? I'm Gatsbi. good ta meet ya in this hell hole."

Darius was walkingdown the hallways to chemitry and he noticed a lot of the new people in this school, none of thme seemed very....happy to be here. And so he just pulled out his I-Pod and started listening to Haunted by Evanessence. He was almost to chemistry when he saw Temperance sprawled up on the floor in pain, he helped her up "you okay?" "Lets just get this day over with." He put her arm and his shoulder and walked with her to chemistry "I guess were destined just to runinto each other today aren't we?" He smiled.

jeff tried texting them again as soon as he could, this time he texted haru, gatsbi, and temperance. "god, where the hell are those stupid humans? whats taking them?" thought Jeff, wondering what the hell was taking them. he started walking again without his heads help, and this time he was standing on the ledge.

Darius walked into chemistry with Temperance around his shoulder, and said "I hope your okay." He sat down in the back of the room and saw Haru, "Hey Haru." he sid with a slight smile.

Still on the floor, attempting to relax and ignore the throbbing in her arm, Temperance felt her phone start playing Tourniquet by Evanescence, her text alert. She reached for it with her good arm, careful not to disturb the hurt one. She opened a text from Jeff. "Plz come 2 roof," was all it said. Tempy sighed and took deep breaths. She was going to get up, hopefully, but thankfully Darius came walking around the corner and bolted over, throwing his ipod from his ears. She could hear Evanescence and what sounded like the song Haunted. "You okay?" he asked. She simply nodded and stopped to grab her skateboard and bag in her good hand. The other was draped gently over Darius' shoulder. "Let's just get this day over with," he said beginning to walk. "I guess we're destined just to run into each other today aren't we?" he asked and smiled. Temperance looked at him and smiled back, glad her arm was elevated - the throbbing was going away slowly.

They walked to Chemistry together, her arm draped around his shoulder, still very gently. She sat down and heard her txt alert go off again. It was muffled so only she really heard it. "I hope you're okay," Darius said. Tempy smiled and tried to be positive and funny about her 'incident'. "Psh, yeah, I'll be fine. Haha, who doesn't take a spill once in a while. I mean, I can always get another arm need be," she laughed. She then pulled out her phone. It was Jeff again. She turned to Darius.

"Hey, did you get this text from Jeff?" she asked showing it to him.

" No I dont think I have." Darius read it and it said "come to the roof." "You think we should ditch the class and go see what he's up to?"

"He's sent me the text twice, so I think we should. He seems to want us up there pretty badly." She smiled and stood, holding her arm high. It still ached and was at least sprained, but hopefully not fractured. Temperance was sure she'd be in a hell of a lot more pain if it was, so her optimism stayed high. She grabbed her board out of habit, even just to carry it. She didn't know she could get her books though. It'd been a miracle that she'd carried them to class to begin with. Frankly, she didn't care if they disappeared.

Temperance gave Darius a bright smile and her heart fluttered. "Let's hit it!" she said with a laugh.

jeff just stood there, hoping that they would get up before his feet decided to go a step forward. he still didn't understand it, how his body would try to get its self killed when he was in a high place. but to this day he was never more scared or fearful for his life. he was terrified. but then again, the adrenaline rush was slightly thrilling, but still terrifying. "come on, hurry up humans"

"Yeah so we better get going. here I'll carry your books for you." Darius smiled "It's the least I can do. Okay so lets go save Jeff!" Darius laughed at what he and Temperance had said.

As Vincent made his way to the principle's office, he decided to take a detour. Better yet, he decided to just skip out on the lecture and just wander around the school for a bit. After looking through a couple of storage rooms and classrooms with no sucess of finding anything of interest, Vincent was about to just go to his next class when he noticed a staircase leading to a place he didn't know of. Might be fun, maybe I'll find something to do for now. As he made his way towards the end of the staircase, he noticed that the door was slightly ajar and so he opened it slowly incase someone was up here. What he saw was that Jeff kid and he was really close to the edge and about to walk off the five story building. Vincent quickly placed his laptop down so he wouldn't damage it and ran to Jeff, grabbed the back of his jacket and arm and quickly pulled him away from the edge. "What the hell were you doing you fricken idiot?!" Vincent yelled before he started to cough. Since he never bothered to talk to people his voice wasn't used to the strain. Vincent continued to glare at Jeff waiting for an answer while trying to calm his coughing.

"Yeah, so we better get going. Here, I'll carry your books for you. It's the least I can do," Darius said with a smile. Temperance's heart became like that candle again, and the fire had just been lit. She blushed a little and thanked him repeatedly. "Thank you, Darius." Her eyse twinkled, still feeling out of place with a guy talking to her and being so sweet. "Okay, let's go save Jeff!" Darius laughed. Temperance giggled and walked out with him, her bad arm still throbbing, but she paid no attention to it. "To the roof!" she exclaimed, lifting her skateboard to the sky.

"eh, not so sure myself. thanks for finding me though, nice view. hehehe..." said jeff, regaining control enough to slowly walk away from the edge. after he made his way down back to class, he saw tempest and darius. "thanks. if it weren't for vince i would probably be dead..." said jeff. "note to self, never ask for help from darius or temp again..." though jeff.

"Damnit were too late he's dead!" Darius said in a sarcastic voice. "Nah but seriously you ok man?"

Temperance was walking towards the roof access when Vincent and Jeff came down. "Thanks. If it weren't for Vince, I would probably be dead..." he said. "I'm sorry, Jeff. I kind of took a spill in the hall," she said motioning to her hurt arm. "Damnit we're too late; he's dead!" Darius said sarcastically. Temperance hit his arm playfully, smile threatening to expose itself on her face. "Nah, but seriously, you okay, man?" he asked. Temperance turned back to Jeff and Vincent awaiting Jeff's answer. Tempy felt horrible. Though, she was tough and a fighter on the outside, on the inside she cared too much for her own good.
