Temperance had just won at Solataire when the teacher gave her a warning glance saying, "Put the cards up, or they're mine." Reluctant to listen, Temperance obeyed and surveyed the room. Quite a few people had arrived late and were sitting in the back along with her. One boy was sitting in the middle, laptop on desk, dragging things and copying and pasting them all over the place. Tempy sighed and shook her head, looking around. She now realized she recognized some of these people.
Vincet was the laptop guy, Avalon was talking to Darius, Haru, Jolene, and Jeff were all in her cooking class. At least she recognized them, not necessarily knew them. Role call had been the only part she'd paid attention to in actuallity. Temperance looked back at her desk and began doodling. She etched an Anarchy symbol in the middle, looking up only when it got silent.
Tempy decided to look around again and remembered Darius getting his paper taken up. It had tiny words written all over it, seemingly in nice pargaraphs, but the teacher snatched it away, putting it on her desk. The teacher was called out a minute later, to Temperance's relief, and said she would be out for at least five minutes. Temperance saw her chance.
Leaning out into the aisle, checking the little door window for any sign of the teacher, Temperance slowly rose and walked cautiously over to the desk. A pink sticky-note was attached to the paper with Darius' name written in the right hand corner. The note said - "Detention". She sighed and grabbed the paper, removing the sticky and crumbling it up. She'd made sure the teacher had made a double note of it, and walked back to her seat, feeling many eyes on her. She handed the paper over to Darius.
"Darius," she said lightly, "here's your paper back. Don't get it taken up again, though," she warned. Temperance smiled, her heart flying with the good deed she'd done, though it may not be right, and turned back around in her desk. The teacher arrived about a minute later, after Temperance had made sure Darius had hidden the paper.
