Noodles' art stuff ( )

Postby Noodles on Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:54 pm

Hey there. Thanks for taking time to check out my work. Hope you like it.
I welcome criticisms but please try not to be so harsh okay? *bribes you with pizza* :D

Here are some stuff for now.

Graphite portrait of Daenerys Targaryen (I love Game of thrones. Can't wait for season 2!!!)

A character I created for a cool rp I recently joined here. (Sort of done in a rush. I didn't even get to do the line art digitally but I'm quite happy with the outcome)

I'll add some more drawings in the next few days. Got lots of pending projects bu art block kicked in ;_;

I really like the attention to detail, texturing, and realism of your graphite drawing. I think the best way you could improve your digital art is use some of the techniques you use in graphite. Have you tried doing a digital drawing over a graphite sketch? I think it would look amazing. :)

@ Kuril - Thanks so much. Yeah, I've been trying to improve in digital art. The medium is still a bit uncomfortable to use for me but I'm practicing though. I'll give your suggestion a try too :D

Random digital art I made. It's funny how from a far view it looks like the character is flippin' off people even though its not even that finger(a lot of my friends told me so). My intention was more like him beckoning someone to come closer. Oh well xDD

Well, I'd say the same thing about these pictures. Everything I can think of that would improve the digital art you do very well in the graphite sketch. I wish I had something more helpful for you. :P

It does look like he's flipping you off. xD

Hey, howdy, I'm Sato - one of the Designers 'round these parts. Really great artwork here, and thanks for posting it!

One thing that really struck out to me, and it's such a small little detail, but your clothes! I can't draw clothes to save my life, which may be why I decided to stick with stick figures. xD Anyways, they seem properly textured, and look real enough to me. I wish I had that sort of skill.

Keep on posting the goods!

This is an old-ish traditional artwork I made(Did it in January 2011). I used colored pencils on this.

Wow .. see? Those clothes look amazing. How do you come up with them? Are they similar to what you or someone you know wear?

Magazines are the best source for reference pics. They also help me a lot with figuring out the folds, etc.
Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who wears stuff like the clothes in the pic above. ehehe ^^;

Magazines. Magazines. I would never have thought of that.

Question .. do you do character commissions?

Depends on the character and my work load I guess. Oh and I prefer if it's just the character alone. I'm not fond of drawing super detailed backgrounds....laziness alert. lol xD
