Squeal Sasha's brakes screeched as she slowed to a stop in front of the hall where the supposed dance was to be held. She had debated on going when the strange guy handed her the brightly colored flier earlier in the day, but now, looking at the old building guarded by bouncers, she was beginning to have second thoughts. Sasha glanced down at the flier in her hand. Yup, sure enough, this was the correct address. She groaned, and turned her car into a nearby parking place. If it weren't for the loud music blaring from the building, Sasha would have turned back home. The parking lot was nearly deserted, save for a handful of cars; a couple of which had a layer of dirt so thick on the windshields, that it was apparent that they had been parked and abandoned for some time.
Well it was now or never. Sasha had only been in town for a few months, and so far she hadn't made any friends. Hopefully the dance would change that. She took a deep breath, locked her car, and headed towards the entrance. She half expected the bouncers to stop her as she approached, but they simply took a glance at her and waived her in. hmm, strange Sasha thought.
Once inside the hall, Sasha noticed only a couple of people scattered in the room, and a refreshment table scooted in a far corner of the room. Nice She thought, I am getting a little thirsty. Sasha put on a look of confidence as she strolled to the table. There were some chips and cookies, and a large bowl of punch in a strange pink color. Sasha served herself a glass of the cold liquid, and she examined it. It swirled in a strange pattern, and smelled rather odd. Actually she wasn't really sure how to describe the smell, but it didn't seem harmful. She took a large swig of the drink. Hmm...sweet, fruity almost, kind of like... Suddenly a sour look crossed Sasha's face, and she resisted the urge to spit it out. She reluctantly swallowed the foul juice, and gagged. "Ugh, what the heck is this stuff?"
Sasha glanced around the room once more. Other students were drinking the same stuff, including a quiet-looking girl. Sasha walked up to the girl and asked "Hey, um, I'm kinda new. Is this sort of party common for the school? I mean no one's here. Also, what's up with the funky punch?"
