Not Another Superhero (Omega) IC ( )

Postby Xersist on Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:28 pm

"Hey No Music in the hallways!" A teacher cried out into the hallway,as Chris passed by, with his headphones on.
"Whatever old man." He replied back, the old man's face turned red. Rushing over to Chris. But before the man could lay a hand on the boy, the school bell rang. "Alright! Schools out, See ya fat head."

Chris ran off rushing out of the halls into the School's plaza. "Finale summer is here, time to start shredding!" Walking into the plaza Chris could see a tall man standing in the middle of the High School Plaza with a stack of papers in his hand. Chris headed toward the man, asking him why he was here. "Hey man, whats up with the papers."

The man replied back with a smile on his face."Oh, I'm just holding these fliers handing them out for the First Summer Bash."
"Summer Bash?"
"Ya, the with the help of the school, and teachers. The district could muster up a local party." The Tall man lied.
"Sweet, let me have one of those." Chris said grabbing the paper ot of his hand.
"Remember be there at ten o'clock."
"Alright I'll be there." Chris ran off toward the parking lot, find his car squeezed between two big trucks. He grabbed for his keys and pulled out of the lot, heading toward home, to get ready for the Bash.

Jessie rushed outside into the hall nearly catching the crowd of fellow kids eager for summer to end. Some summer they had here in the frozon Mile High, he'd much rather be back in Tampa's blazing heat. He passed a tall man handing out flies and snatched one to look at, Summer Bash? He thought to himself, he could easily make the ten o'clock time. It was just a matter of how motivated he was to attend, he made it to the bike rack as the crowd poured out of the main entrance to the school. He unchained his bike and rode out the parkinglot to his house laughing as he sprayed a few kids as he flew through a puddle.

He entered the kitchen and want directly to the fridge, popped open a soda and crashed on the couch. He had nothing better to do tonight so he decided to go to the party. He dozed off as he watched tv, his feet propped up on the coffee table as he did so.

"Finally over."

That was all Donni could say about it as she weaved her way through the halls of kids anxiously unpacking their lockers for the summer.

Well, almost over, anyway. Donni tried to keep from glaring at all the girls around her who couldn't even wait for summer to start before they broke out those before they broke out those ridiculous flip-flops. Maybe now that she didn't have to show up here every day, she'd get a little peace.

Listening to all the chatter, she remembered that that probably wasn't going to happen. They'd be lounging around the pools all day or trolling around the mall or just milling around aimlessly. She'd probably keep bumping into them all summer. And she'd have to keep hearing the prodding and the jokes like she did all school year.

While walking outside, she wasn't really paying attention as she walked down the stairs and immediately crashed into someone.

"Ow! What the hell were you...?!" Donni was expecting yet another dumb kid on his phone. But, instead came face-to-face with some guy clutching onto a stack of papers. "Uh, sorry."

"Nah, nah, no problem." The tall guy was still smiling, unfazed apparently. In fact, he still had his senses enough to take one of the flyers that he didn't quite catch and said, "here!"

Donni picked herself up and read the flyer. "'First Summer Bash?'"

"Yeah, the school district pulled it together!" He was still smiling.

Donni looked it over. These school dances tended to attract the little harpies in swarms. "Um, I don't know."

"Come on! It'll be fun! You look like you could use it!"

Donni looked at the flyer. She shrugged a bit. This guy must have planned half of it or something, he was really trying to push this. "I'll see if I have time."

As she walked away, she heard the guy shout, "remember, ten o'clock!"

Donni gave the flyer one more look. She really didn't have anything better to do....

I used to rule the world, seas would rise when I gave the word, now in the morning I sleep alone, sleep the streets I used to own…………

Viva la Vida blasting off through his headphones a lone teenager strode out of downtown Denver, bobbing to the beat of one of the many songs his sleek, silver Ipod carried, returning from a long day of doing nothing. A thin grin slipped past his lips as he absentmindedly dodged the crowds of people swelling on the sidewalks and thought back to his full day of doing totally random things. He’d started off in the park, fed some pigeons, got into a game of ultimate frisby, and even climbed a couple trees before heading downtown. There was always something interesting to do there, from hanging out in random shops, from admiring creative graffiti, to discovering new music from the diverse population.

Grinning Alex switched to “I Thank You (Goa Trance)” as he continued to head down the street. He wasn’t sure where he was going, but there were loads of people around, so this was probably the most interesting place around. Many of them looked like ordinary high schoolers, just younger than he was, no doubt ecstatic as summer came upon them. With school out he’d be likely to have even more chances to do things with random strangers, maybe some soccer, Halo, poker, he’d play pretty much anything.

Lost in his thoughts Alex jerked back as thin sheet of paper was shoved in his face. Shaking himself back to reality and pulling off his blaring headphones Alex was greeted by a deliriously smiling man holding a flier. Blinking Alex lightly lifted the leaflet from the man’s outstretched hand, taking in its exotic font and bright colors. Ignoring whatever words the man cheerily spurted out Alex scanned quickly over the flier. Mentally ignoring anything that he didn’t find interesting he ended up with “Party at 10:00” and an address that he filed off to be remembered just long enough to find the party.

Nodding politely to the man and pretending he’d actually heard a single thing he’d said Alex headed onward towards his small apartment. His surround sound and $2,000 subwoofer were calling, and he already had a fun night planned. His head bobbing as “Fake it” proceeded to blare through hid headphones Alex slipped through the dense crowd, a smile crossed the lips of the man behind him.

Daniel stood looking his barely visible reflection through a mirror.

"What are you looking at ?" Daniel asked to himself

He finally came back into reality and frowned at a younger school child sfowning at him.. He walked away from the mirro and down a crowded hallway. He bumped into people ashe walked past hearing; "watch where your going," and "what's your problem." He didn't care.

The end of school for him was here. He had finished highschool. Suddenly though a man wth flier approached him. It said party at 10 on the leaflet. He carried on walking and was about to drop the leaflet when he looked at it again. He had nothing better to do and also he may have some "fun." The last timehe had, had some fun someone went to the hospital.

Donni walked into her house and the first thing she heard was, "lived through another year, eh, killer?"

She looked up and saw one of her older brothers, Tommy, sprawled out on the couch, the family cat laying next to him. Tommy had graduated last year and was back home from college for the summer. Donni sighed a bit and shrugged. "Looks like it. Where's Mark?"

Mark, her other brother, was also home from college, but in a different school. "Out with Mom right now, getting stuff. I just got in, so I wanted to sit down for a bit."

"Ah."

"I think they want to have a barbaque or something in a couple days, invite some other people over, since we're all home."

"Sure, sure." Donni, meanwhile, had her hands on her jean pockets....one of which contained the flyer, which she hadn't let out of her grip all the way home.

"Say, you want to catch a movie or something? First day or summer and all?"

Donni looked up, thought a bit, and said, "um, I kinda have someplace I was gonna go."

"Where is this, exactly?" Tommy had started to edge into Big Brother Mode, but was at least relaxed enough to still be scratching the cat behind the ears.

Donni tried to remember what was on the flyer, answering, "the schools throwing some kind of summer party thing. It's gonna be at ten."

Mark raised an eyebrow. "Little late for a school party."

Donni shrugged, then started upstairs to her room. "I was gonna check it out. Not much else to do."

"Okay..." He still seemed unsure, but left it alone for now and turned back to the show he was watching.

The school year finally over, Eric heaved a sigh of relief. School seemed like such a waste of time whenever he stopped to think about it. It wasn't that he didn't believe in the value of an education, but he didn't see how doing endless worksheets was anything more than the teacher's way of not having to do any work.

He didn't have to worry about that anymore though.....he'd be in high school next year. That would HAVE to be different, right? He was supposed to take the bus home today, like everyday, but maybe he'd get a glimpse of the high school before anyone else in his class.

The dry Colorado air was something he'd gotten used to, since Eric had never lived anywhere else. Foster care didn't tend to give you the luxury of living in the more humid states after all.

By the time he got to the high school, the halls were empty. Empty, except for one man with a stack of fliers tucked under his arm, who seemed to be on his way out. Catching a glimpse of Eric, he changed direction to approach the boy.

"Hey there, sport, I don't think I gave you one of these yet did I?"
"Er, not yet......sir." Feigning politeness was a skill Eric had found to be quite useful in staying out of trouble.

"Might want to check this one out," said the man. "It's gonna be quite a show."

Eric took a flier and stuffed it in his pocket. "Yea....thanks...I gotta get home."
"Of course you do." The man smirked and headed out towards the parking lot.

On his walk home, Eric took out the crumpled note. "Come join us for our Summer Jam Bash. Tonight only at 10pm!" The thought of going to a high school party was just the motivation Eric needed. Making a mental note of the party's location, Eric stuffed the note back in his pocket. "Least I have something to do tonight now......"

Aiden was walking down he halls of her school. She was an outcast and she didn't know why. While she walked outside she was staring at the ground, not caring where she went. Suddenly a paper was shoved in her face. "Ahh." She said as she fell back.

"I'm sorry for scaring you, but here take this." The man that shoved the paper in her face said while giving it to her.

"What is this?" Aiden asked while looking at the paper.

"It's something the scool is putting together for the kids. I hope you come." And with that the man went back to handing out fliers.

'A party huh? Maybe I should go. It would make dad happy' Aiden thought while walking home.

Jessie woke up with a start.
He had fallen asleep and the night was upon him already.

'Oh what the fuck!" he said in frustration of sleeping so late, he had only wanted a short nap not a 3 hour sleep. He looked over at the wall clock, 9:00pm. He had only an hour to get ready for the party and get there.

He ran to his room and threw on a black&purple hoodie 3 sizes too big for him and a pair of white tripps that were very baggy, they would have fallen off him it it wasn't for his studded belt.
He also grabbed his aviator sunglasses and his Ipod as he ran out the front door.

Jessie was riding his bike fast to the beat of Devildriver, his aviator's hiding a mischievous glare as he raced down the sidewalk. His long blond hair flying behind him as he picked up speed. He never was one to miss a party after all...

Aiden sat eating dinner with her dad. When she was done she was going to leave for the party.

Where is this party again?" Her dad asked for the 50th time.

"It's just down the street a little ways. Calm down dad. I thought you were the onr who wanted me to get out more often?" Aiden replied with a smile to comfort her dad.

"Ok, but please be carefull." He said worriedly.

"I will dad don't worry. I'll have my cell phone on the whole time. Well I go to go. I love ya dad." She said while heading out the door. She was wearing her plaid mini skirt, fish net leggings and fingerless gloves, Good Charlotte shirt, and her converse.

She went down the street twords the party while listening to her Zune.

Donni looked herself over in the mirror one more time. The usual jeans and hiking boots, with a black t-shirt and a pink bandana around the neck and another around one writst. That's about as colorful as she usually got.

She turned back to Sparky the cat, who was laying on her bed. "What do you think? Party enough?"

The cat peeked up at her, yawned, and went back to sleep.

Hannah glanced at the watch on her other wrist. She gave Sparky a final scratch behind the head on her way out. "Well, time to get going. Don't mess up the room, now, kit."

As she went down the stairs, she heard the conversation still going on at the dinner table. She shouts over her shoulder, "I'll be back in a couple hours. I have the phone on if you need me."

"Wait, what," her dad asked.

"The party. The school's having some kind of summer party thing for the kids," Mom answered.

Before she could hear the rest of it, Donni was already out the door and on her way.

Chris rolled out of bed and plopped on to the carpet. "10 o'clock eh" The kid started to do push-ups in his room. A usual habit for him when was bored in his room. After 15 or so lifts he stopped and rolled over on his back. "Hmm, well better get going."

Chris grabbed his jacket, and tossed it over his shoulder. Looking out the window for a second he paused, then turned out toward the door.

His Parents were gone, out on a business trip they said. 'Whatever," he though, 'they don seem to be here anyways.' Heading down stairs into the garage the boy jumped into his car. Cranking the engine and pulling back he headed for the road.

The Party was up on hill, on an old ski-side resort. It was only good for the spring and fall. No one used it in the summer, because it was too dry, and in the winter when it was too harsh. Seemed the right place to hold a bash.

Making his way, up, while finding a place to party he rolled around to the entrance. Chris could see big beefy bouncers at the door. He held the car still, watching as the teen came in.
On caught is eye, that had a cigarette in his mouth, "That kid looks fifteen at best, " He said about to pull up the window, but then he stopped. Watching as the bouncers ganged up on the kid.

"Hey no smoking." One of the men said, the teen replied.
"Hey stop front'in man, I thought this was a party, not a hold folks home."
"I said not smokes." The Bouncer pulled the cigarette out of the teens mouth will the other bouncers pulled the kid off.
"Hey! What the hell, let me go!"Chris watched as the boy was pulled away, Chris chucked as he pulled off for a parking spot.

Getting out, and walking into the resort, he saw that they used the main ball room for the party. The music was loud and bumping the Victorian walls. "Very Clashy." Chris said as he looked around. He headed for the refreshment stand, pulling out for the punch. The color was pinkish-purple, and odd color that seemed to swirl about. Though Chris didn't mind, taking a sip of the brew. The flavor had a kick to it, sweet and tangy, but his mouth soon cringed, as the after taste changed to that of old grandma medicine. "Ugh, what is this stuff, Benzo?" He put the cup down and grabbed some chips, hoping to cover up the flavor. "Some party." He said sarcastically. "When are the babes gonna show up."

Donni made her way towards the resort described in the flyer. It was usually empty this time of the year. She guessed the school took the oppertunity to rent it for a party since it wasn't being used at the moment.

As she approached the resort, however, she was a bit surprised. Since when did some high school party need bouncers? She eyed them a bit, but they didn't make any motions towards her and just left her alone as she entered.

"A little early, I guess," she muttered. There weren't a lot of kids here yet. She wandered over towards the refreshment table, picked up one of the glasses of brightly-colored punch, and leaned against a wall to watch what was going on.

"Ah, speak of the devil here comes one now." Chris said eying Donni. He stepped over and said hi,

"Hey, never seen you before, do you go to Mile High?" The kid tried to put on his charm, but he was nothing to call pro worthy. He took a sip of the punch, almost choking, forgetting about the bad after taste.

After biking up the hill Jessie saw some kid booted out for smoking, he checked his pockets and put his pack of smokes in his sock. He didn't want some gorilla of a bouncer to take them.

He chained it up on a street sign in the parking lot before heading inside. After getting and giving the hairy eyeball from the bouncers Jessie went to the refreshments table and decided he needed a drink. After pouring himself a cup of the pepto looking stuff he took a swig, and immediately regretted it. "This stuff is shit!" he said. It had a deceiving sweet taste but lead into a horrible aftertaste.

Jessie spurted and went to the dance floor, maybe he could start a decent mosh up in this rustic old joint.

Since Donni was already watching the other kids to start with, she spotted the guy walking over pretty quickly. As he started the conversation, she still couldn't get over just how transparent teenage guys are. Even if their conversation is totally normal, their cues give away what they're really thinking about. It's actually kind of funny.

Nearly choking on his punch kind of killed it, though. Donni gave her own drink another look, answering, "yeah. I don't spend a lot of time at these school events, that might be why you didn't see me."

Donni finally took a drink of her punch and had to stop for a second so she actually swallowed it instead of just spitting it out in front of this guy. "Jeez, you can tell this is a school thing, the food's cheap as hell. That or one of the older kids got loose here again."

"I think it was both," Chris said looking down at the beverage. "Do why did you come to this one then?"

The music was heavy, as lights flashed all around, massive speakers pushed a loud bass that resounded in the halls.

Donni thought about it for a second. Truth be told, she didn't know why she was here. She usually hated parties and hated socializing with other kids her own age. But, for some reason, she felt like coming today.

"I don't really, really. Nothing better to do tonight, I guess." She shrugged again and decided to take another chance with her drink. She grimiced. Nope, still not a good idea. "By the way, I'm Donni Haill. And you?"

Jessie Found out pretty soon that no matter how "heavy" the music the dj played that no one there understood what moshing was and just thought he was an asshole. Not that they were wrong but he was just trying liven things up.

He bumped into two people talking with the disgusting drinks in there hands. "How can you even stand that crap? Taste like old motoroil." Jessie said making a nasty face to emphasize it.
