Remember - this whole forum is one persistent world - your characters are free to move from topic to topic here with no restrictions.
If anyone ever told you that a new world was strange, confusing, and frightening, don't ever believe them. So what if you don't know anyone, or anything? So what if you don't know your way around? Is that not what makes it fun? Sure, you might get ferociously attacked by things that don't know what you are - even with an aura that emanates peace - but usually after knocking them out and giving some time for both of you to explain yourselves, the violence subject never comes up again. Usually.

Regardless, Corona found himself in a new world once again. He wasn't entirely sure if he would find himself welcomed or shunned, or what his purpose would be here (that part usually wasn't revealed right away. Usually). His first objective, of course, would be to secure knowledge of his location. He appeared to be in a forest - it was always a forest. The warm sun shined over his divine body, giving an unresistable urge to stretch his wings and take in the beauty of the nature around him. Birds sang in the leafy trees, and he could sense various wildlife critters going about their daily life in the wilds about him. He took his first steps among the wilds of this brand new world, heading towards a clearing he could make out in the distance. A nearby bird decided to land upon his shoulder out of curiosity, poking the side of his head a few times as if a small taste of his head would reveal all about him.

The angel made his way to the clearing, revealing to him a small lake going about its business here in the forest. His new birdie friend decided to stick around for a bit, and Corona noticed a family of ducks not too far going for a swim in the lake.

"I suppose this will be one of the friendly ones." He spoke in a quiet voice. The bird tweeted loudly, whether in agreement or not Corona wasn't sure. It then flew away.

The family of ducks began to quack agitatedly, as the suddenly took off from the seemingly still lake. At first only a small ripple could be seen on the surface of the water; easily dismissed as being from the departed ducks. The ripple continued to move towards the shore. Before long a dark figure could be seen steadily walking along the bottom of the lake.

Green sigils scintillated against a background of pure black as the figure's hat rose above the surface. It was followed quickly by vibrant red cat-like eyes, ghost pale skin, and a fanged smile framed by a well trimmed black goatee. His wet ebony hair was absentmindedly draped over his right eye. He wore a long black coat with two rows of silver buttons up the front. The coat mirrored the hat with strange and intricate shimmering green symbols. The rest of his attire was plain and black as night; from his boots to his gloves.

As soon as his head had cleared the surface an unearthly whistling escaped his lips. Despite his appearance; no human could have made the sounds he was making. To a tune dead a thousand years he whistled in harmony with himself. Though it seemed no louder than an ordinary person, the sound could be heard as clearly as if he were but a few feet from you.

In his outstretched left hand he held an uncut blue sapphire the size of his fist. His whistling ends with a long low note that sounds more akin to a cathedral organ than a living being. As the last note turns to silence so does too does the whole forest it would seem. No bird, frog, nor cricket could be heard and even the wind itself seemed to stop.

The silence is shattered as the man begins to laugh. He throws his head back and it sounds like a cliched 'Mwuahahaha!' mixed with a hint of sincere mirth. Slowly the laugh dies down to an intermittent chuckle, and he turns toward the winged man. He tosses the uncut sapphire to the winged man.

Ever smiling the man in the coat removes his hat and bows towards the other. He holds his hat over his chest with his right hand and holds his left hand behind his back; as he did so the life quietly returned to the forest. "My sincerest greetings to you sir. I am the Doctor Octavius Von Striker-Cromwell; at your service. I know not what manner of being you are; perhaps you will reveal such clandestine facts in the fullness of time. However, such desires are not permitted by etiquette at this impasse. I must suffice myself with the knowledge that you are here, and perhaps here for a reason, as I myself am. The stone is yours to keep and do with as you wish. It was only my desire to know if it could be found in the location I deduced it to be; as it was, I no longer have a practical use for such a bauble."

Hm? Clearly something else was nearby. But what? But where? The golden eyes scanned the area before him, his golden hair blowing in the slight breeze. He folded his arms in the sleeves of his white kimono, wondering what manner of being would approach him next. He notes the appearing figure, as well as the impressive tune it seems to create. A puzzled expression crosses his face as all sound stops, and the being instead begins to laugh. Was it time for introductions?

It was at about that time the sapphire connected with his face.

This little event caused the winged being to, apparently, fall off his feet. But instead of hitting the ground, his body simply spun mid-air, leaving him in a perhaps diagonal position mid-air with his back turned to the good Doctor. He did, however, manage to gnab the little gem that caused the damage.

He spun around quickly so that he faced the good Doctor, though his feet still hovered a few inches above the ground. His wings did not seem to flap or otherwise assist him with this special ability, it was as if his body simply defied gravity. The angel blinked a few times, holding up the gem and looking at it, and then changing his glance to the doctor.

"Greetings." He replied in a friendly tone, a small cut still visible on his forehead. He listened to the doctor's introduction and explanation before bowing himself. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Doctor Octavius Von Striker-Cromwell." He spoke, as if the little incident with the stone never happened. "I am known as Corona Starfire, but you may refer to me as you wish." He shrugged, then looked back to his new 'gift'. "As for this little gem here, I'm afraid I must insist in you taking it back. Afterall, a sapphire as beautiful as such should be perhaps offered to one more worthy. Such as a lady friend, or one of noble origin, yes?" Apparently he didn't understand the doctor's explanation very well.

A crashing boom resounded, drowning out all sound. A rift suddenly opened in the air, violent and destructive in its nature, trees and earth being torn asunder as the rift slowly expanded. The swirling tempest created by the rift swung the debris about, slowly breaking it down as a bright orange light began to emerge. And then, as sudden as it had begun, the rift quickly shrank down and seemingly spat out a single individual. The individual ripped through the air, seemingly leaving temporal disturbances as he flew. The rift vanished as soon as the disturbances had cleared the portal.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" The being shouted, crashing into the ground with such force as to leave a swath. When he finally came to a stop, he was face first in the lake, his head just barely submerged.

For a moment, he did nothing, seemingly dead. Then, without warning, he jumped up, gasping for air.

"GAZERA!" He shouted, cursing in an unfamiliar tounge. "For the love of chaos! Every blasted time!"

The strange being stood up, dusting himself off. His bright orange skin offset his saphire blue hair, and the mad look in his eyes was made all the more eerie by their peculiar nature. One looked normal, just a regular blue eye, although admitedly it almost seemed a little too blue, but the other eye had a diamond shape iris, this one a bright yellow.

He stood, looking around, unaware that he was ankle deep in water. The manic grin on his face gave him an almost sinister look. He looked at Corona and the Doctor.

"Bizzam, foos!" The being spoke, an upbeat, if slightly unsettling, demeanor. "Name's Demento. You folks know where an ultra powerful madman can have a little fun around here?"

Suddenly, the rift opened again, and out shot a large wooden mallet. It screamed through the air, nailing Demento in the side of the head, sending him soaring into the lake. After several minutes, he dragged himself back out, now clutching the offending mallet.

"I really need to find a better transport system." He muttered. He stood up and then did the most peculiar thing. His whole body twisted up, expunging the water that now soaked him. Upon returning to normal, he was now completely dry. He grinned, spinning the mallet in his hand, his odd gaze cast upon the two other beings present.

"Well? You gonna answer, or am I gonna have to speak louder?" He said with a chuckle. "Because believe me, I can."

This was extraordianary for the small, sleek man Thomas Legend, a species much like a human from the planat yendafoin. One of the main and almost the only difference between Thomas and a Human was a small robotic eye on the back of his neck. Making sure noone could sneak up on him. Thomas Legend was a foin, naturally small in nature but some of the best marksman in the multiverse. He was currently looking at the conversation of the three creatures below. All representing some sort of Angel, an orange man and a similar creature to Thomas except with quite an original dress sense. All this was being viewed on a sniper scope. And was one of the first times Thomas had encountered extraterrestrial life. (Apart from his adventure with Alpha team back on his home planet.) At this moment Thomas was a general explorer looking for adventure on his time off. And it looked like he had found it. He rolled down the grassy forest from his prosition on a small cliff face. And reached the bottem landing very close to, but not in, the river. He switched his sniper for an assault rifle with an accurate scope. And edged closer...

Suddenly Demento became very alert. Without warning, he spun about, throwing his mallet in the direction to the presence he sensed. The mallet spun through the air for a moment, then straightened out, mallet head forward. The opposite end of the mallet opened up and a jet of fire shot out, propelling the mallet to near mach speed. It impacted the ground infront of Thomas, burrowing underneath him, causing the earth beneath his feet to collapse.

In a flash, Demento was there, standing over Thomas, a mad look in his mad eyes, a manic grin on his deadly looking maw. The abilities that this being seemed to possess were odd, and there seemed to be no limit to his power. However, the actions he took and the things he said all seemed to be chaotic and random. There was no rhyme or reason to anything this being did. It was not something many people had ever encountered.

"It's not nice to peek, you know?" He said, his tone sinister. "Certain people might find themselves in bad places if they do bad things. It's just logic, you know?"

Demento finished with a maniacal laugh, recalling his mallet to his hand. He held it above his head, and it grew to a massive size. "Anything you want to say? Hmm? Maybe an apology? Or at least a jaunty tune, you know?"

Octavius chuckled at the angel, "I assure you, in no uncertain terms, that a lady friend would desire such a stone to be cut. However, I have met none in over 200 years who's beauty would give me cause to perfect that stone. My dearest child Moira may find joy in such a thing, as trinkets have ever fascinated her, but she is indisposed and over a thousand miles from here...Hm?"

Just then something seemed to catch his attention. He turned his attention to an empty space in the air, almost instantly the air ripped apart, and Demento made his entrance. The Doctor could feel the Chaos radiating from him, and was far from disappointed when he demonstrated that Chaos. When Demento finally settled for a moment, with his mallet over the little man with a gun, Octavius made his move.

He took a step forward and... split, for lack of a better term. Fluidly several of himself seemed to step out and disappear, only to reappear a couple steps away from Demento. They all stepped forward and into one another. A psychotic laugh burst forth from his lips.

"Indeed... I quite concur Demento; an apology is in order. It would also appear that his intentions were, perhaps, motivated by more than mere curiosity." He motioned towards the gun in the man's hand. "Such a device would be quite detrimental to your average being. To those such as ourselves it would be but a minor inconvenience. Allow that in his ignorance he had desired to end our lives, and you may end his now. However, if it would be that his intention was simple observation, then the path of Chaos should be let to run its course. An observation of his future actions could become a most interesting study. So as to avoid further rudeness; I am the Doctor Octavius Von Striker-Cromwell."

The angel, ever intrigued by the so-called doctor before him, opened his mouth to speak. But it was at that moment other events caught his attention. A newcomer with an unfamiliar guise suddenly appeared through some sort of portal. The portal's origin was unknown to him, and as more events unfolded before him he began to wonder just what sort of mess he had gotten himself into. He sensed a life form nearby, but apparently he wasn't the only one. Both of the other two that were with him (only one of which he had learned anything about, besides their name) had already prepared to deal with such an encounter.

As Doctor Octavius turned his attention to this other newcomer, as did the angel. For what it was worth, the doctor was the closest thing to a friend Corona had so far in this world. Placing the sapphire inside his kimono - apparently accepting the gift - he floated over in Doctor Octavius's direction to see what the commotion was about. Despite his ability to sense emotion, he found it difficult to take a clear reading of those nearby. For lack of better words, they seemed insane. Especially the one that came through the weird portal. And what was this "Chaos" thing that had been mentioned?

He remained airborne a short distance away from the trio, his arms folded inside the sleeves of his kimono. He merely observed, at least for now. He had hoped to gain some more information as to what exactly was going on before taking any further action. He was slightly concerned about the slight hint of violence, wondering if maybe the occurring actions would lead to further trouble down the line. If need be, he was ready to intervene. Yet the lack of information on these beings made that somewhat dangerous.

He wasn't exactly thrilled at the idea of being slain mere minutes after awaking in this world.

Suddenly, and without warning, the rift reappeared. It opened wide, like the maw of a great beast. There was a deafening roar, and an enormous creature, apparently made exclusively of blades and teeth, emerged from it. It tore up the ground around it, raging and rampaging with no apparent purpose.

Demento turned, his ever present smile present as ever. "So that's what happened to my Razor beast! Gentlemen, meet the Dementian Razorbeast! He wants to kill all of us. I suggest you not let him."

Demento laughed, jumping up into the air, hanging there as if denying that gravity even existed. He pointed his finger at the Beast, cackling. This got it's attention, and aroused its ire, or at least aroused more of its ire, as the case may be. It charged straight at Demento, but upon seeing the other two, swerved to charge Octavius and Corona, tearing up the ground around it as it did. Whomever had created this beast had not had safety in mind.

Just then, Demento pulled a piece of candy from his pocket, unwrapped it and popped it into his mouth. He sat back in midair, apparently not concerned about the rampaging beast. He hummed to himself as the Beast drew ever closer.

"What a fascinating creature." Octavius said as the Razorbeast charged towards him.

Still desiring to study Corona further he couldn't allow him to be eviscerated by the charging wall of sharp and pain. He couldn't allow the other to die either; he hadn't even introduced himself yet! A pair of large tentacles, seemingly made of congealed shadow, burst out of his back and each wrapped around one of them. He spun and launched the pair well away from the creature before turning to face it. His smile brightened just before the Razorbeast turned on puree.

The effects of flesh hitting swirling steel blades was as spectacular as it was bloody. The steel gray beast turned dark red. It was quickly evident that the sheer quantity of blood that was now oozing and dripping over the monstrosity couldn't have been held in a single human body. The blood started turning black and the creature became sluggish as large tentacles of blood and shadow began to emerge from it.

A cracking, grating noise of metal on metal could be heard from within the creature, accompanied by the sound of disembodied laughter. The blood and shadows completely covered the beast, but left its bladed maw exposed in the shape of a wicked smile. Two dark green flames flared up in its eyes. It had become a dark monstrosity of blood, blades, shadows and madness.

A booming metallic voice echoed across the clearing, "For the time being I believe that this act shall suffice to stem the beast's ability to end the lives of those present. It is truly a joyous day that such a plethora of fascinating beings be brought into my knowledge in so short a time. The opportunity to aggregate information is an opportunity I never let pass me by."

A lull of silence swept the area, only to be broken by the natural sound of the rustling trees, and a small bush, that seemed to be filled with life. Two lives, to be correct. A small boy, stumbled past the bush into the clearing, apparently tripping on a giant tree root of the sort, while his friend stepped over his body, a scowl on her face. It was immediately obvious that the two were not human, as both had two small pointy horns and long, floppy ears sticking out of their heads, a long slender tail connected to each of their rumps. They were goat-children.

"You've got to be more careful, Tatsuma! The area around here isn't the best place to shove a book in your face!" The girl scoulded the other, acting like the mother of the group. For such a young child, she had an air of responsibility surrounding her, with her red eyes adding to the effect. The girl's clothes were composed of a simple black skirt with a small flower pinned around her waistline. She wore a plain white shirt with two tan straps that connected to a rather large knapsack on her back. Her fur was a dim egg white, slightly ruffled from the trip, but still neatly arranged, short and clean.

"S-sorry Ume!" The other stood up clumsily, taking a few moments to adjust himself, "But I couldn't wait to reach home before reading this new novel!" Tatsuma bent over, picking up a large book that almost looked like it could be about half the weight of the weilder. The goat boy dusted it off with his paw, giving a weak smile to Ume. Unlike the girl, this one seemed to be a bit dazed and out of place, his messy dark hair and loosly tied scarf making him look like a bit of a bum. His fur, also unlike Ume, was a slightly unkempt pale purple, some black markings placed on him here and there. He wore a winter outfit, whiched seemed odd in the middle of spring, and black shorts that revealed his kneecaps. A small lanturn was hanging off the end of his tail.

Tatsuma smiled meekly at Ume, trying to apologize for his mistake. The girl grinned back and patted his head silently.

"Let's just get go- woah!"

The duo stopped in their tracks, Tatsuma hiding behind Ume's outstreched arms, staring at the bloody mess on the ground, with frightened expressions on their faces. The girl lifted her foot, covered in the red liquid. Looking for the source of this mess the kids spotted a rather frightening sight. It looked like a human... but it didn't seem human, with two black tentacles protruding out of his back, his attention towards another being, who was too far away to see clearly. It was strange, as the man seemed to be happy, smiling even.

"...My goodness... Ume? What the hell happened here?" The goat boy trembled a bit, wimpering at the grotesque environment. He didn't like the sight of this. This is what humans do when ever they have conflict. The child didn't want the humans having conflict here as well.

"... I don't know... but the best way to figure this out is to find someone to talk to" The goat-girl sighed, pointing over to the tentacle man, a shiver being sent down her spine. Reluctantly, the two moved towards him, unable to figure out if he was reponsible for such violence in this peaceful area. "Hey mister, do you know what the HELL you're doing here?" Ume demanded an answer, her arms placed on her hips with a annoyed face. Her friend tried to act brave as well, backing off from Ume and staring in anger at he man.
"Hey kids! Whenever anyone offers you food, beat the crap outta them! Never risk the chance of getting poisoned!" ~Wise words from Ryu Kisuki
