What happened to posing for the sake of art? Freakin - A nowdays, everyone thinks that anyone who looks at naked people is a pervert!! i can understand why...but what is wrong with using women posing nude and drawing them? it pisses me off that everywhere i go, people think that its a sick and perverted hobby. WTF!? its art! just because my models have a lack of clothing, doesnt make the portraits and pictures any less art!

Sorry to spew to you guys...my last model just quit. her portfolio is filled and, now, i have nobody to draw. i love drawing, but building my portfolio of nude sketches is my primary concern right now, as i need it for a job i have saved for me in 3 months...it just gets me kinda frustrated that i have nobody to pose for me...

I know. I'm a woman myself, and see nothing wrong with posing for the sake of art. I went to a few classes, to see what it was like, and when people found out, they all thought I was gay. My boyfriend, thank goodness, was also taking the classes, so I didn't have to explain to him. ^^

I totally understand your pain. I'm a photographer, and would love to take photos of nude males and females, but not in the perverted manner. But no one will pose for me.

I did one photo project where I worked with a semi-nude body, and I got told my art looked like it belonged in a dirty magazine. IT WASN'T EVEN NUDE WORK. I totally didn't understand why they thought that way. It wasn't what I was going for, and it really upset me.

I haven't worked with body parts that may be construed as sexual since. Even though I would love to do more things like that.

There is a world of difference between nude modelling and pornographic modelling. It's peoples perception that causes this misconception.

Honestly, I'm in a religion that believes that one's body is ONLY for their husband or wife. I do, however, understand the situation. I wasn't born into this religion, so I'm able to look at this through 'normal' eyes, so to speak.

There is a misconception about art and pornography. Unfortunately, some people feel that all nudity, no matter in what form, is pornographic in nature. This is just one of those things that artists have to deal with, I think.

Before I was baptised into my religion, I truly believed that pole/erotic dancing, whether clothed or unclothed, was a form of artistry, now I can't even consider looking at that anymore.

One thing's for sure, artist's need to have a backbone.

This isn't just nude modeling, but models in France did a nude protest because their.... gosh, I can't even remember the word now, think it starts with c... but anyway, its basically a "collection cup" of sorts, and they're often the models main source of income. They're now illegal, and models are protesting because they get so little pay...

Anyway, yeah, I hate how you cant look at a nude artwork or piece of nude photography without someone thinking you're looking at porn, and whenever you go to explain that its art to some people, they simply refuse to listen....
