Certain Apocryphal and Gnostic texts speak of a being created by God, in His own image, before the creation of Adam and Eve; according to legend, this being was abandoned by its own Creator. Called the Firstborn, the creature was a singular being neither male nor female, dark nor light, both beautiful and terrible to behold. God was so disturbed by what He created that He banished it into the Abyss to be forever forsaken, forgotten and unloved. God then started anew and went on to create mankind, giving the species two sexes, intellect, feelings, and love (not to mention a soul).

The Firstborn, too powerful for even God to keep from breaking into the mortal world, would make seven attempts to escape, each time taking back a piece of the earth to add to its domain and each time sent back to the Abyss. Fragments of time and space would form layers around this domain, linked to this world in the city Al Khali. These layers would entrap pieces of history within its walls, from the time of the ancient Sumerians to World War II. Over time, other great conquerors and civilizations would arrive to claim the city as their own. Eventually, the city was forgotten and buried by the sands of time.

The Department of Occult Warfare was created in the 1930s to combat the supernatural and unexplained. Another purpose was to meet Nazi Germany's own research into the paranormal. One of their most brilliant members, Arnold Leach, was recruited in 1962. However, his unscrupulous behavior and nature would eventually have him expelled. He was marked for assassination, and although the operation appeared to be successful, it seems that he may have survived.

The Jericho Squad is sent to Al-Khali to prevent Leach from opening the breach and unleashing the Firstborn upon mankind once again.

Starting Point will be inside of DOW headquarters.

Horus woke up with a start. He had fallen asleep at his desk, amidst a pile of reports, requests and various other bureaucratic paperwork. He looked at his watch to find he had only gotten about 3 hours of uncomfortable sleep and there was only one another hour before he needed to be awake anyways. Off in the corner was the latest orders from his commanding officer. Today was to be the final confirmation exercise for his new unit. The indoor urban operations training centre was being redone these last few days to simulate an archaic ruin. As with all training done here, they were going to be using real bullets against real aggressors either captured or cybernetic simulations. They were all the elite of the elite and only 100% success rates from here on out could be accepted. The world was too much at risk for anything less.

With little point in getting any more sleep Horus got up and began to do some morning exercises to work the sleep from his head. He wasn't the largest, strongest or fastest in his unit, but he didn't have to be. Each of them had a role to play and his particular talent was making the most use out of the groups expertise. Finishing a his sets he felt much better and went on to shower and change into his uniform. The uniform was a solid deep green with gold trim and a pair of bars across the wrist to denote his rank. He strapped on his heavily modified revolver. The gun had been a gift when he joined the unit. He didn't like it, preferring his old service pistol but politics demanded he carry it with him. Striding out into the corridor the lights in the hallway had just started to brighten in response to the day cycle. They were 400 meters underground he was told once. There was no sunlight down here and the cycles helped everyone keep a sense of time. He followed the smooth metal hallways down to the mess hall.

It was still early even by military standards and no one was around. He grabbed himself a cup of coffee and sat down at a table. As he sipped it he silently blessed the new unit and their capacity for making good coffee. He reviewed the mission again in silence as several shift workers started filing in and leaving for their various destinations. The rest of the crew were to meet him here within the hour. They would have one final go over before the mission.
"Perhaps we should perform a study on the effectiveness of studies?"

Amelia opened her eyes, she saw the ghosts of her past. the good times and the bad, and then a smile came on her face She thought of her 13 year old son Gabrieal, oh god how she missed his smartassery and talking back. her waste of flesh husband put him in the hospital and now Gabe was in the hospital and suffering of a coma. "i can't believe im still married to him" she adjusted herself in her bed and sighed heavily. "gotta get up." she unwillingly rose from her bed, showered and got dressed. Ameila looked in her mirror and saw her reflection.

"You Gettin' old bitch." she said to her reflection and chuckled quietly. she equipped herslef and walked out of her room. As she got to the hallway she looked around. it was dark and creepy looking, very quiet not even birds was heard. she shrugged it off and walked down the hallway, the metal hall way.. everytime she took a step her footsteps echoed loudly right back into her ears. "damn heels.." she said annoyed.

Finally coming to the area where the squad leader was she greeted him "good morning sir." she pulled her hair back and put into a ponytail. she sat next to him and began telekinetically making the two coffee.
