Lol Yeah. I don't know the current progression of an actual chat that ties with the chat at the bottom of the pages, as well as the IRC clients. It's all quite a bit of work to keep up with.

Originally posted in the OOC section of Clans and etc (My idea): I had a quick look at all the groups on here, and I didn't see one like my group idea. So take a look at the following below.

The Underground Intelligence Agency
_______________________________

The UIA is a group responsible for reporting new findings about the RPing world that'll come in handy for the future if you are seeking certain sources of info on a certain subject [Major events occurring in the role play world, New TB or SB fighting styles such as S20, PSS20, T2, T3, T4 and T1 and new RPG online games that come out (WoW, Ruinscape, Habbo Hotel and Gaia), plus what chatroom RP can be like], or the establishment of side projects for RoleplayGate, if a Mod allowed the group to do so.
The Underground Intelligence Agency is already a group on UG Roleplay; though it's a small fraction. I believe this idea will be helpful to the Gateway community.

I'd only need a few helpers with this general idea. People who have been around abit and know there shit about Roleplay. Or peeps who are willing to give there spare time into helping the Gateway community understand the ways of Rp'ers abroad.

This is a open group for anyone and everyone who loves RP. I'll let it play out first of all, so to apply, just ask on this topic.

SIDE NOTE: WE could have our own little fourm on the Roleplay Central bit. "The headquarters of the UIA, citizens of Gateway can come here to report events occurring in the role play world. Consider yourselves citizen journalists!" Lol.

I'm sure that'll be a good Topic of Discussion for you peeps, right? Just give feedback and so on.
I just stole a second or more from that sad thing you call your "social life".

I strongly disagree with the style changes in recent times. Yes, the annoying "4 Star Reputation" thing has disappeared, but can still be checked, which I support, but everything else is a mess.

For one, why did you take the profile fields and post counts out of the member info area when viewing a thread? This was an unnecessary move; you can't be doing it to save space, as most RP posts are several times longer than the amount of space taken up by these fields. So there is no practical reason for removing it other than to prevent elitism, which could have been done by just removing post count.

Also, you took out the stylish member group images I came to know so much. Now it'll only be more of a challenge for members to recognize moderators, administrators, and other specific titles which are important to the community.

Remaeus, I am going to strongly recommend, and just short of demand that you put things back to what they were. The only changes you should keep are the default avatar, which does an adequate job filling up space, and the fact that there are no numbers next to the reputation ratings.

Too many changes in such a short time can disorient the community, and can cause alienation and unease among your newer members and even your veterans. I know you only have the community's best interests at heart, but a more gradual shift in style would be appreciated. Oh, and our post counts.

A place for newbies to learn how to fight in a roleplay? xD I mean, the arena may be a good place, but it is kind of harsh to just throw someone in a fire without them knowing how to stop, drop, and roll. ^^;; Maybe you could add a sub-forum for critic and stuff? Just an idea though. =3

Edit: Better idea~ Okay, so basically, if they're going to learn how to roleplay, why not put newbies in a typical learning invironment? See where I'm getting at here? That's right! Put them in a school! There's already a Roleplay Academy, so why not add a grade to that? There can be classes like basic fighting techniques and stuff! =D I know that it can be hard to figure out attacks and stuff, so why not have a class for that too? Whatcha think?
Ya know what? Just forget about me because it appears that I can't help anyone on here, not even the board itself, and it'd probably be too selfish to ask for help myself. Besides, I'm just the ghost that nobody sees anyways. >_> Goodbye.
P.S. For those of you who want me to continue "Domination," go here. I'll allow anyone to comment on it. Thank you.

I personally think personal tutoring is a much better way to teach.

Would it ever be possible to...

1 Remove the 'too many common words' feature from the search button? >_< Usually it occurs when I'm looking for specific thread types, since you can't specify anything specific (and so ending up with somewhere around a 2 word search request that is rejected by the server.)

2 An option for forum coloration scheme that has darker colors. This current scheme is painfully bright, though I'm not requesting anything dark to the point where the text has to be white colored.

No forum breaking suggestions just convenience and flashy flashy stuff. :P

Edit: Of the two, I'd personally say darker scheme options > search conveniences for order of priority, if the two suggestions are are ever juggled around and considered for a near future forum improvement. Better yet, if considered, perhaps a feature that allows you to choose the RBG ranges for text, background, boards, etc, could be designed.

Or would that essentially require installing a new forum?

No. Actually, it's a rather tricky process with the way this server is being set up. I agree with you, and I am working on things that will give us the option to change the color schemes and the like. Until then this is our only choice...

As far as the Academy goes, meh we've ran it that way before; didn't work. So we're trying a more hands on approach with guides and tutorials that people can do in their free time.

As for the search.. Yup.. broken for me too.

Gyaaar! Apparently "village" and "alchemist" are too common words to search for! How am I supposed to know if people are talking about me behind my back?

Well, I'm not a fan of slave roleplays, personally, and I know I'm not the only one. They over populated Gaia, and thus ran this ninja off. >.> (As well as others I've talked to)
Could something possibly be done to give them there own section in Fanasty Roleplays much like School Roleplays got their own Sub-Forum?
I know there's a lot going on here and Remeas is trying to make sure RPG doesn't crash, but this is just something I'd like to bring forward.
Thanks,

In the Fiction section section i honestly think ther're should be a Kingdom hearts section... I mean theyre are more KH Rp's out there than Naruto (I Think) and naruto has a section for it.... and another thing..... When somebody puts a post in a forum I think the Total # of Rpgateway Posts should be put back under the Persons Avatar/username so we know if we are dealing with an Experienced Rp'er or not... i have trouble telling the Experts from the Newbs right now and that's never fun.

The stars tell you if they are good or bad.. Number of posts have nothing to do with experience. Most people with more than 2k posts obtain those from simpley making role plays and one lining them or joining up and one lining. Post # has absolutely nothing to do with how good or bad a role player someone is.

I just want to say that the Quarantine.... er, I mean, sub-forum for School RPs was a great idea.

Post counts are a mixed blessing. Like Vexar said.
I know people with many many posts who don't do more than:

"I walk over to her and say 'hi'"

Which, I think, is a waste of time and space.

A more detailed rating system would be awesome.
If you could review people, and rate them on specific categories.

Such as:
    *Overall Skill
    *Character Creation
    *Detail
*Upkeep (or however you let people know this person doesn't abandon RPs)
    *Fair Play
etc, etc.

This way you could look at people's posts compared to what these posts actually were.
