haha. You guys crack me up.

Andy, I am most reachable via email, since it's easy to check and such at work or during class. PM me if you want it. I'm about to run out the door now to go with my brother to court about his freaking 32149874635132th accident.

Keep me updated on that RPG your working on. I have yet to join one like I said I would, and I need to get on the ball.
Today, Friday, October 10, 2009, is my last day on RolePlayGateway.com.
Everyone give me lots of love, because I shall be handing lots out. <3

Hey there, as you can probably tell im fairly new here, and to RPing in general, but god damn do I love this place.
Its one of the few communities I have found where people have a real passion for what they are doing and that is a really great thing, and the best way I can see for increasing activity around here would be to work to instilling that passion in other people.
Getting people interested in this whole RP jazz is probably difficult, but personally, this is the first forum of its kind I have been active on, and I check it almost everyday.
If my example can teach anything (:/) Its that the RPA is an exelent tool. If it wasn't for the help I have received there I probably wouldn't have stuck around for this long, if I am brutally honest. For me it has been benificial in a few ways:

A) If I was the last person to post on my RPA thread I check it obsesivly to see if there has been an update.
B) It's most obvious benifit is to improve RPing skills in all aspects.
C) Having a single tutor assigned to a noob such as me makes me feel wanted, as this person (who obviously has a real life unlike me :P) is spending some of their valuable time without a reward insentive, on me.
D) The tutor for the RPA acts as a first RPG friend, who can help you out with much more than just your RP skills. (Cudos to Circ on that front, because he has been a massive help to me :) )
E) Having a whole forum designated to teaching noobs gave me a really good first impression, of a comunity who actually gives a shit about people other than the vets

-and Im sure there is more to boot. So what Im trying to say is, really push the whole RPA idea, because it has worked with me, and honstly I'm going to start being more active in other parts of the site too (especially if I graduate sometime soon), because if this place died, it would suck more than a little.

Thanks for reading.

People seem too shy or formal, or something.

Role-Playing communities are hard to build, because to the eyes of the general public, and speaking completely honestly, role-players are a bunch of nerds. And to actually finish a role-play, some extreme dedication is required by the game master and the players alike. I've been in ONE successful RP.

I don't know, there's something off about the activity here. I see threads with so many views but barely any response. As if people are afraid to speak their mind. I mean, I always throw my two cents in. If it's clear I'll offend someone, I don't do it, but other than that...yeah.

Introductions especially important. There should be some kind of general NEED to know a new person.

Shy you say. Formal you say. Just human nature to act this way to those you don't know. Throwing your two cents in is fine, but do it over PM unless there is something truly wrong, such as some time ago when some guy had this rp about a hospital and it pissed some people. I have to ask, what ever happened to him?

But you have some things that I argee on, people look but don't touch. It does get annoying when I see a 1000 views, but only 30 posts.
"She called me late last night, to say she loved me so.
But I guess you changed her mind.
Well I should have known it wouldn't be all right,
But I can't live without her
So I won't even try...
And if I get drunk, then I'll pass out on the floor now baby.
Cause you won't bother me no more.
And if you're drinking, well you know that you're my friend and I say
I guess I'll have myself a beer."

But it's the internet! Even though we're not as anonymous as we think we are, we're still pretty anonymous. I mean, what is the off chance that you'll actually meet someone in real life? Sure, you establish a friendship, and hey, you might meet one of your internet buddies in real life (and they don't turn out to be some creepy weirdo pervert), but that normally happens because you were OPEN about yourself (personality-wise).

In order to keep a member in a community, he obviously needs reason to stay. If he can't find his place to fit in, then he will pass by. If he doesn't make a friend or doesn't find a spot to fill, he'll leave. It's just like that.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but have we thought of a post somewhere that updates the status of the main rpg threads with who to contact for an update on the storyline, in case new people who have RP'ed extensively and don't need practice want to join and don't want to read through boards of archived posts before they start?
As you recall, you know I love to show off,
But you never thought that I would take it this far.
What do you know?

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
