Personality: Stoic and wise, Aurion is the eldest and most experienced of the Patronus. Known across the world as an unstoppable hero, devoted to the light, after surviving over nine thousand (totally unintentional) years of Patronus service, most people believed Aurion to be invulnerable. One of the original twelve Patronus during the first war against the Sealed One, Aurion was responsible for maintaining the organisation for the rest of his life, and for ensuring there was a successor for him when he did pass. His death was a blow to the Patronus, overwhelmed by numbers, and the devastating strength granted to his counterpart commander of the Orsa.

Skills and Talents:

A skilled flier.
Thousands of years of battle experience make Aurion a nigh on unbeatable opponent without matching or surpassing his powers. It is very hard to get the drop on him, or to find a tactic that he cannot predict.

Abilities:

Divine powers largely focused around offense, though with significant strength in protection and healing as well. Similar to Arran, these powers are dropped from their original strength by the Sealed One’s taint, though he is still a formidably powerful foe, comparable to Sylvire and Scarlet in power.
Replica Sword of Truth, without much function other than as a very hard to break sword.

Arran Celes'Varin, Defender of Light

Personality:
Arran is a cheerful and good-natured man, with never a bad word to say about anyone, except perhaps the Sealed One and his ilk. Loving and protective, Arran always placed his companions before himself, particular the young Peregrin with whom he developed a close friendship. The first of the Patronus to fall, allowing Peregrin to escape the dark elf witch that had been sent for them, Arran had no idea of the extent of the Patronus’ foes when he fell.

Skills and Talents:
- A skilled flier.
- A moderately capable fighter with his sword or the sceptre as a melee weapon.
Abilities:
- Divine powers focused around healing and protection, the shields and healing that Arran can provide are impressive even for a Celestial going down such a path. His defensive magic is greater than that of any others of the Patronus, and his healing powers match Oron’s. These powers are sharply reduced due to his now dark and unholy nature, but they remain significant enough to pose a threat to less powerful Patronus members.
- Replica Sceptre of Judgement, the divine powers it normally projects replaced with demonic dark energy due to the taint of the Sealed One.

Personality:
Gawyn is a humble example of royalty, who despite his luxurious upbringing remains very much in touch with the values and morals of a simple soldier. Rather than mingling with the courtiers, as his father would have preferred, Gawyn instead spent his time in the barracks with his men, or training with them. Kind and good-humoured, Gawyn’s sense of honour and duty are strong. In his final days, Gawyn didn’t give up hope until Shaiel’s death, at which point he had little concern for himself. His loss, coupled with the berserk nature of the Axe’s powers, drove him to the very edge before his demise.

Skills and Talents:
- An unparalleled swordmaster, with additional skill in great weapons, polearms and some skill in archery.
- A tactical man, Gawyn has the know-how to lead soldiers into battle with confidence.

Personality:
Distant and airy, Shaiel isn’t very sociable. Spending most of her time alone or with animals, wandering unpopulated regions, she has limited contact with other humans and similar species. Most of the time she only interacts with Patronus, and indeed they are the only people she is comfortable with. Quite quirky when with those she is comfortable with, Shaiel became increasingly withdrawn as the events surrounding the Patronus’ demise came to pass. Gawyn’s romantic interest in her took her entirely by surprise, thinking herself unworthy of his attentions, but in the dire times she turned to his affection as a warming lifeline.

Skills and Talents:
- Adept at reading the wild and communicating with animals due to her shapeshifting powers.
- Agile and lithe.
Abilities:
- Shapeshifting, limited to animals, mythical or otherwise – though transformations to powerful creatures such as dragons are taxing and almost more trouble than they’re worth.
- Shadowmancy, involving the manipulation of shadows and the usage of dark energy.
- Replica Beholder’s Spectacle, granting Shaiel telekinesis and telepathy, but not astral projection.

Personality:
Serious and stoic, Kaelan seldom cracks a grin or even exchanges more than a few necessary words. Very much a man of few words, Kaelan believes that actions speak louder, and was relatively distant even from the other Patronus as far as personal relationships went. Grim faced and determined to the end, had he had time to contemplate it he would have been sorely disappointed at the manner of his death, a dishonourable strike from the shadows.

Skills and Talents:
- A fiercely talented and agile warrior, using speed to his advantage where strength is less his strong point.
- Acrobatic agility.

- Fang: A wickedly large curved blade easily the size of a greatsword, heavily enchanted so that it can be wielded in a single hand as one might use a shortsword. In addition, the blade’s edge is enhanced with druidic fae magic to scythe through even solid plate armour, and to be able to strike ethereal targets.
- Royal Armour: The armour of a royal guard is not to be sniffed at, enchantments of strength coupled with those of agility. As a result, Kaelan can move and leap further and faster than even elves consider within the realms of possibility.
- Replica Elemental Shield, the projected field of elemental power covering only the side to which the shield faces. Otherwise serves as an incredibly tough shield in itself, with resistance to magic.

Personality: If Kaelan is the silent, stoic warrior type then Luriel is the mysterious and dark assassin. Largely because she is an assassin, but the mysterious and dark bit is her own. Seldom speaking unless to give instruction, advice or offer an opinion on a critical matter, Luriel nonetheless holds her companions in high regard, and as demonstrated, was fully willing to lay down her life for them and for their cause. Others have little insight into Luriel’s emotions beneath her mask of utter indifference, and it remained up throughout the Patronus’ plight. People fight, people die. Mourning does not bring them back.

Skills and Talents:
- A skilful and unpredictable fighter, employing underhanded tactics alongside pure mastery of her weapons to win. An assassin, Luriel has no qualms with striking her foe down before they have a chance even to respond.
- Acrobatic agility.
Equipment:
- Twin shortswords.
- Numerous knives and daggers.
- Crossbow pistol.
- Poison darts + poison vials to add to weapons, of varying and extensive effects.
- Arming sword.
- Ungues (claw-like weapons with more blades than you can shake a stick at, more than enough to slice your own arm to pieces with if you don’t know how to use them).
- Any number of other weapons and devices – being an assassin, she has more than she can carry at any one point.

Personality:
Despite her feared reputation and notoriety amongst the human kingdoms in particular, Mirana is a relatively jovial individual with hardly any sadism at all. A fan of isolation, Mirana still communicates frequently with other sentient undead, and has as much of a personality as any living person – snarky and sarcastic, and with a sharply vengeful tongue.

Skills and Talents:
- Generally not dying when you cut bits off of her, being dead.
- Mirana feels no pain whatsoever, again, being dead.
Abilities:
- Elemental magic, in all four base elements – while not as powerful as a master in each individual element, her level of control and power in all four more than qualifies her as a powerful caster.
- Replica Hunter’s Javelin, sans ‘bonding’ quality.

Oron is a kind and warm example of a Centaur, unlike many of his kin with cold and distant attitudes towards ‘two-legs’. Wise and old, even for his kind, Oron was a level head amongst a younger generation of Patronus, and one of Aurion’s most trusted confidants. Even in the dying days of the Patronus Oron did not descend into despair, believing until the end that victory would be achieved, even if survival was not likely for many.

Skills and Talents:
- A skilled healer, both by magic and otherwise.
- A master of wilderness survival, at one with nature. This talent is diminished in his pseudo-rebirth, due to the negative influence of the Sealed One on the druid’s communication with wildlife and nature.
Abilities:
- Nature Magic: Oron’s druidic prowess gives him command over the flora and fauna of the world, manipulating them to his advantage. He can also channel the spirits of the forest into his attacks for more direct magical assault. The latter ability is not carried forwards in his rebirth, as much like Peregrin’s elementals, the spirits of the forest refuse to serve the Sealed One.
- Healing: Oron is a masterful magical healer, especially combined with his knowledge of natural healing.
Equipment:
- Staff with orb.
- Healing herbs/equipment.
- Orb of Restoration replica, with little use, as in its mock state it cannot heal as well as he himself can unaided.
Peregrin Redgrave, Fiery Prodigy

Personality:
Peregrin is light hearted, fun loving and more than a little flippant. During the time in which he served amongst the Patronus he often used the Elemental Bracers he wore for tasks such as carrying books on cushions of air, starting hearth fires, zapping rodents or even frying bacon. Friendly and kind, Peregrin is well meaning even if not entirely matured, and pure of heart. In the last days of the Patronus Peregrin was forced to grow up faster than anyone should need to, and witnessing the deaths of his companions harrowed him deeply. In the days before his death, Peregrin was despairing, depressed and without any real hope.

Skills and Talents:
- A skilled flier.
- A capable swordsman, though by no means a master.
Abilities:
- Fire Magic: Peregrin’s most prominent ability is in mastery of elemental fire magic, and his skill in this field surpasses most of those ten times his age, matching if not surpassing Sylvire’s thousands of years of experience. Capable of producing heats greater than most fire mages can withstand, Peregrin can melt steel with his fire.
- Spirit Magic: Peregrin’s secondary ability is that of spiritual magic – the utilising of elemental and other spirits to aid him. This ability allows Peregrin to summon elementals to fight with him (fire, water, earth, air, light and darkness) and to enhance his own abilities. As one might expect, Peregrin most often fights with a fire spirit. This ability does not carry over to his Orsa replica, as the spirits he once shared companionship with refuse to serve the Sealed One in his pseudo-rebirth.

- Elemental Bracer replicas, with similar but far less powerful abilities.
Selwyn Lorien, Arcane Summoner

Personality:
Selwyn is a quite distant and at times cold mage, highly academic and quite uncompromising when it comes to her art. That is not to say that she is a cruel person, quite the contrary – beneath her outer shell of cold, Selwyn holds great affection for those close to her, and would gladly (and has indeed done so) lay down her life for them. She has a strong fondness for younger magic users, and before the final days of the Patronus was an enthusiastic and loved teacher at an academy in one of the elven cities of the day. Selwyn’s death came early on in the harrowing events that led to the fall of the organisation, and she died with a strong hope that her death would mean the survival of the others. A fruitless hope, alas.

Skills and Talents:
- A skilled fighter with her staff, though by no means an expert.
- Intelligent and discerning.
Abilities:
- One of the most talented arcane mages of the age, Selwyn’s mastery of spells involving pure arcane energy, mystical enchantments and curses, and complex weaves such as illusion and travelling are masterful.
- Selwyn’s arcane magic is second only to her summoning abilities. Demons of all shapes and sizes come at her beck and call.
Equipment:
- Crystal-topped staff.
- Arcane gems with stored power, which can be used as mana sources or as ‘explosives’.
- Swordsman’s Friend replica, creating a highly magically resistant shield rather than an immune-to-magic one.

Bahl, the Void Rider

Personality: An extension of the Sealed One, Bahl is as malicious and heartless as his master, and has no true emotion.

Skills and Talents:

A skilled rider of his void-bat.
Capable of wielding his large lance as an effective weapon in most forms of combat, with no limitation of strength.

Abilities:

As an energy construct, Bahl can manipulate his own natural energy into lightning-based corrupting strikes of void energy.
Immune to physical attacks and resistant to most forms of magic. Draining magic and arcane magic are the only forms of magic with significant effect on him.

Equipment:

Giant void-bat. Named Shriek by the people of Aelora, for the unearthly wail it lets out when it descends on its prey. Resilient, utterly numb to pain and bloodthirsty.
Giant energy-lance, surrounded by void energy and delivering powerful energy jolts with every strike.

Arial Kae'tara, Dread Martyr

Just over one hundred years prior to the present day, the last sovereign blood elf territory was overrun and its people slaughtered. Their former royal champion led the assault against them.

Extremely talented swordswoman and general fighter.
Agile, as all elves are, and savvy.

Abilities:

Necromancy and Death Magic, corrosive and destructive spells combined with those relating to the creation of minions and the animation of corpses.

Black Armour: The ornate armour Arial wears grants her a passive magical shield layer around her body.

Kasha, Daughter of Torture

Personality: Sadistic and merciless, Kasha has been infused with only a small aspect of emotion: joy from the slaughter and pain of the Sealed One's enemies. A taskmaster, executioner and interrogator, Kasha operates both on prisoners and on the battlefield, doling out punishment on those that stand against her master.

Ridiculously capable with her heavy weaponry considering her small form.
Ridiculously nimble considering her heavy armour.

Abilities:

Armour manipulation - Kasha can shift and morph her armour like destructive tar, using it as a weapon as well as altering it to suit the situation, whether that be decorative and imposing or practical and easy to move in.
Strength - Kasha has strength greater than her form suggests, allowing her to wield her weaponry with ease.

Personality: Much like vultures, the Eyes of the Sealed One circle their prey from on high with cowardly impunity. Also much like vultures, their appearance heralds their prey's demise. Operating as eyes for the Sealed One, where they see, so does he - allowing him to direct his minions to attack. Their arrival has come before the fall of many cities, empires and heroes. Truly vultures by nature, the Eyes will not attack unless they are absolutely confident of victory without harm to themselves.

Skills and Talents:

Nimble and difficult to pin down, extremely skilled fliers.
Very good judges of power and skill.

Abilities:

Abnormally potent vision.
Gorgon's Grasp - from a closer range the Eyes can freeze a weaker willed individual in place with the intensity of their gaze, paralysing them totally.
Summoning Cries - the Eyes can spawn voidlings for their defence.

Equipment:

Scything Claws - capable of cutting through steel.

Khamur, Relentless Hunter

Personality: Nothing brings joy to Khamur more than the thrill of the hunt, the adrenaline of the kill and the rush of power as the victim dies in his hands. The perfect hunter, Khamur is relentless and impossible to deter. Near unshakable, Khamur will persist in attempts to track his quarry indefinitely, spending weeks at a time to find a single trace if necessary. Employed to hunt down and slay the most evasive and subtle of the Sealed One's enemies, only one individual has ever consistently escaped him: the slayer known as Thyl.

Skills and Talents:

A master of tracking and general wilderness survival, Khamur could find a straw in a needlestack, or indeed an ocean if you gave him enough time.
A fierce and rabid fighter.

Abilities:

Regeneration - Khamur can regenerate to such a degree that if you behead him, he'll have another head within ten seconds time.
Magical Repulsion - Khamur naturally repels magical energies, even those with great power, making most spells and magical attacks useless against him.

Chains - Khamur wields heavy chains as a lasso-like weapon.

Matriarch Spirette Nirae, Queen of the Traitor-Kin

Race: Spider-Kin - a race that turncoated to the Sealed One's forces early in the wars against him, sacrificing their sovereignty and honour for survival.

Personality: Spirette is a powerful and commanding leader, a rousing and loyalty-inspiring monarch, and a total coward. Like the Matriarchs before her in the twelve hundred years since their betrayal, Spirette is little more than a puppet for the machinations of the Sealed One's generals, leading her people in His name with very little choice in the matter.

A cunning tactician and infiltrator.
A very good liar.

Abilities:

Blood Magic
Entropy Magic - curses, disease and decay.

Equipment:

Blood Staff - a staff with a gem of power in its tip, where drained energy from her foes is stored to use for herself. The staff also lengthens the lifespan of the wielder.

Nae'Shan, Lord of Night

Personality: Unfeeling, commanding and destructve, Nae'Shan is the male counterpart of Nae'shiara. Sharing many of her abilities, with more emphasis on raw and physical assault, as well as her role as an extension of the Sealed One's will, Nae'Shan is the General where Nae'shiara is the Queen. Leading the Sealed One's armies in person as opposed to from a seat of power, Nae'Shan is what many believe to be the overall leader of the Sealed One's forces in Aelora.

Skills and Talents:

Skilled close-combat fighter despite his primary usage of magic.
Indomitable willpower.

Abilities:

Elemental magic - Nae'Shan can wield fire and earth as though they were extensions of himself.
Void Magic - including the generation and summoning of void creatures, self-repair, powerful pure dark magic and physical enhancement to a superhuman level.

Equipment:

Unsealed Gauntlets - nigh-on indestructible gauntlets allowing Nae'shan to use his massive physical strength without fear of damaging himself.

Kelrhut, Corrupted Legend

Personality: Prior to his corruption and enslavement by the Sealed One, Kelrhut was a proud and noble creature, who fought alongside the lesser races in their war with the Sealed One. Sapient and wise, Kelrhut is one of the oldest living beings in Aelora, and his enslavement by the Sealed One was a crippling moral blow to those fighting against him.

Sylvire's Library

The Library of Amarathia is a mystical place, created by the High Elves' most powerful mages in the city's glory days. The interior of the Library exists on another plane of existence to both Aelora and Terra, and is massive. It contains the entirety of Amarathia's magical knowledge, historical documentation and other forms of literature - including copies of most other texts produced by the other Aeloran nations. The Library's nature allows it to be near infinite in size, and yet the magics that flow through it make it easy to find the texts that are required. They have the convenient habit of being on whichever shelf you check first.

Sylvire has made the Library accessible from the Monastery in Terra as well as Amarathia itself, and it is heavily warded enough to stop all but the most powerful of enemies from entering it against her will. However, the Library was never designed with defense in mind, and so none of its many enchantments aside from Sylvire's own have defensive potential. The Library's main chamber is accompanied by several smaller rooms: the entrance hall, which Sylvire has converted into a bedroom, a storage room converted into a smaller bedroom for Aiedai, and staff offices that have been converted into a kitchen.
