I agree Myrin, I think (personally) if we stay on the path we are now, it's gonna' get sucked dry.
Or global warming does that new ice age and hits a restart button.
THEN COCKROACHES WILL RULE THE PLANET!

Economics wise, the world is feably stable.

I would agree with Roswell, that the world will most likely be consumed by an EPIC Ice Age; which doesn't sound so bad this time around.

I think American economic policy is really hurting the world economy. If the rest of the world would step into our business, like we seem to like to do with theirs, I think this country and the entire economic world would last a great deal longer. I also think that if we want to save the economy we need to focus on green energy. Because if we kill ourselves with poor economies and green house emissions, then we didn't do any good and when people eventually evolve again...they'll think we were idiots.

I'd be fine with an ice age considering 6 months out of the year there's snow and ice on the ground where I live anyway. Why not make it the full twelve? *blah* But, I think the way the earth is currently, we will revert first back to the prehistoric type temperatures only because back then there was a lack of oxygen on Earth because of the lack of life and whatnot, disallowing cooling temperatures as the atmosphere or whatever was not there to shield the sun as there is now. Over time that changed, obviously, but now that there's so much pollution and organisms releasing carbon dioxide (and crazy amounts of trees disappearing), the amount of oxygen will decrease insanely, thus repeating history temperature-wise and going through the learnt stages once more. *burgalurg*

And as for cockroaches .. ew. But I don't think they'll rule the world. I think spiders will. Why? Because they scare me and they're so common with a lot of people terrified of these creatures. Plus, they are so often killed that over the years, they will eventually build up a hard outer shell and grow in size to prevent their easy deaths. Hopefully and most likely this will happen millions of years from now (if Earth lasts that long) and only my ancestors will have to deal with them. Take that great great great great great, etc. grand-children!

Yeeshers, Bio has done bad things to my mind O_O

The points brought up thus far do not adress the underlying problem with our economy as it has been running for the last 1-4 centuries (depending on where in the world you are).
