Sabine's Beginning
(In her point of view)
I was born in a small town. It didn't have all the confusion that Hub does. No illy treated servants, no secrets that are no longer secrets. Neighbors knew about every single thing that went on with their neighbors. Maybe it was because the women of my town were know for for being the best gossips in town or because everyone was trusted. I grew up quietly in that town, there were no secrets and I was blissfully ignorant of the rest of the world's suspicions. It was a life that was enough for me, at least until I was 15 years old.
Then in blew someone, but not just any someone. A handsome someone. His name was Ambroise and he was the most wonderful thing that our town had ever seen. At least that's what us girls thought. He was amazing in our stuffy little town. His accent, his manners, his body, his personality and his clothes, oh his clothes. His accent was slow and sweet and so poetic, the people in our town talked quickly and lightly while his was a slow sweet drawl that hung heavily and sweetly like honey. He had manners unlike the males in our town, the men in our town never opened doors for us or escourted us out the door when we were done visiting his aunt.
His body was different from the bodies of the men in our town who were either very hefty or who were shortish, muscular, large boned and a bit less then average in beauty, which made them strange looking next to us girls who were all taller, slim and curvy and above the usual in beauty. Ambroise was blonde with big chocolate brown eyes. He was tall, taller then many of us, slimmer then our men, and had more graceful muscles, they didn't bulk up under his skin. Instead they twisted about him, giving him great six pack, and a very graceful look about him.
His personality was up and down, on good days he loved each and everyone of us, on the bad days we fell like servants to him. Giving him small gifts or anything else that came to our mind to a please him. His personality was that of a spoiled child's, but at that moment we didn't figure that out.
Now that I look back upon him he wasn't as amazing as we thought although he was amazing just not as amazing, he was just different, a handsome flirt and had a way with the ladies. He flirted with every women, young or old, pretty or pretty ugly and basked in the attention. Which we unfortunately poured onto him by the boat load. We didn't understand the threat that he was until I loved him. It was a scandal in the town.
We had sneaked away together in the night, then we sneaked back into town. Nothing had happened really, just a romantic evening with kissing and whispering, nothing farther then that except what the town made up. By the next day it was all over town. That night Ambroise sneaked away giving the town more to whisper about. Ambroise had been in town for two years to that date. A week later my mother tried to get me to marry a nice older farmer on the outskirts of town to hide the scandal. I refused stupidly convinced that Ambroise would come for me. After a year listening to whispers about me I left.
I left and wandered for two and a half years before I ended up in heartless Hub.
