Here's a link to my board. There's a little bit of everything going on there, but since I've recently pruned some accounts, there are only three active members (including myself) on there. There's one whose spot I'm holding, but anywho. Feel free to join in on the RP! We accept truly all forms of roleplaying. If there's not a category for it, there will be one made. We're open and friendly, and we don't bite. =) http://z14.invisionfree.com/unforsaken_dreams

Hope to see you folks there!

Genre: Fantasy/ High Fantasy/ Original Fantasy

Type: Advanced

Time Setting: Medieval/ Something of our own created time.

Rating: PG-15+ Mature threads marked. Yes, this means we allow R rated threads (See Rules)

Activity: Very good. We are constantly growing.

Community: Very friendly. We are always happy to pounce a new face.

We are a massive, literal world of our own design and creation. Into these realms you will encounter many strange and new creatures, and regions to which you have never encountered before. You will be hard pressed to find a world this developed into history, lore, races, beasts, and geography.

We are a play by post forum role play, that offers several unique and interesting options to our members. We operate on a Level System, much like a video game, the higher your level, the more you are able to do. To gain levels, one must post and be active. Please visit our forums or rules to find more information on the Level System.

Aztersil has no real, solid plot, but rather, the current events of the world. Houses and Guilds will war against each other, and new missions and events will always rise and fall. This will allow you to wage war against kingdoms, or begin your own quest, however you see fit. Your threads do not affect the world. If in one thread, a member raids a town, this event does not occur in other threads, or affect the world at all but in that thread.

Prisoner RolePlay ( )

Postby Garrret on Wed Jun 25, 2008 8:49 pm

After being here a short while I’ve made my own RP that seems to have a bright future. However not all the role plays I partake in are doing as well. A while ago my friend was doing a survey into how to make a MUD called Anathema Online more open and interesting to criminal characters.

In a world like Anathema where you can do almost everything you can imagine, even build cities, some are to be tempted to become criminals. Its fun acting as a criminal up until you get caught. At that point we come to a cross roads. Logically that character must be punished but throwing someone in a normal prison leaves them bored. Now this same issue also applies to slaves just in a different way.

After the first survey we came up with a nifty place called Brennenstadt. It’s a large prison city located on a island in which you have many choices of what to do. The first path to survival in the city is to gather iron from the fiery mines and trade it in for food. But we also put in a number of npc prisoners that could be mugged and have their supplies stolen. To make this even more possible we put make shift weapons, like shovels, around the city. The city was made large enough for turf wars to take place to further spices things up. Unfortunately when we announced the implementation of these things no one joined. It was quite a disappointment as we even set up a way for people to start in the prison if they didn’t feel like having to find their way. Khalo and I made prisoner characters to help make the area seem friendly to the first arrivals but this did little to help.

So I’ve come to you guys for your suggestions on how to make the prison system work.

* Dwarfs
* Orcs
* Lizards
* Gnomes
* Fairies

gnomes fairies and goblins require special application\

The game is completely roleplay based, and you are required to be in character at all times. Every town ingame has been built by players, and are run by players. Through extensive roleplay some players have even become powerful demons and lichs. Anything is possible. There are skills, extensive magic system, and plenty of dynamic quests.

A friend and I were talking that we want a much larger player base so im going to fellow RPing forums and posting this, hopefully finding some interested people.

Erandia ( )

Postby Denisius on Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:10 am

In computer gaming, a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon, Domain or Dimension) is a multi-player computer game that combines elements of role-playing games, hack and slash style computer games and social chat rooms. Typically running on an Internet server or bulletin board system, the game is usually text-driven, where players read descriptions of rooms, objects, events, other characters, and computer-controlled creatures or non-player characters (NPCs) in a virtual world. Players usually interact with each other and the surroundings by typing commands that resemble a natural language, usually English.

I run an RPI(Role-playing Enforced) MUD that goes by the name 'Erandia'. It's quite an advance and unique MUD, incorporating an immersive environment and atmosphere with interesting game-play.

The IP Address for the MUD is: zeno.biyg.org

And the port address: 2500

The Wiki (Contains theme related information, as well as vast amounts of lore) can be accessed at the following address:

Main Page - ErandiaWiki

Here is a list of the key features we have in the MUD:

* Advance in a skill-based, levelless, classless environment.
* Fair and helpful admins and newbie helpers to answer your questions.
* Newbies are protected, for the first ten hours losing nothing for dying.
* Get involved in a rich roleplaying environment, in a fully realized world, with a deep storyline.
* Learn magical talents, gain skill and power.
* Virtually unlimited character advancement.
* Utilize a versatile, entirely new magic system.
* No annoying spell lag. Channeling magic is handled more intelligently.
* Beautiful Ansi color used liberally, but not every word a different color.
* Explore a vast world, and gain experience and knowledge from your explorations.
* Discover strange, new worlds, each with their own moons, climate, and atmosphere.
* Travel many different terrains, from ice fields, lava lakes, swamps, to deep oceans.
* Follow the tracks left in the dirt or snow by other creatures.
* Choose from a wide selection of over two hundred races.
* Any type of character you wish to play is open to you.
* Some races can be ridden by other players. Play a dragonrider, or their dragon!
* Found clans, start a family, interact with other players.
* Fight battles, learn combat and weapon skills.
* Realistic equipment system involving size and bodyparts, protecting only the part it is worn on.
* Different races have different bodyparts, which can bleed, be broken, or severed.
* Communicate with player created and controlled channels.
* Fashion your own equipment from raw ores, and enchant it with whatever effects you wish.
* Find rare magical gems to affix to your equipment to increase your power.
* Hire NPC's to mine ore, harvest ingredients, or funnel mana into equipment for you.
* Mix alchemical ingredients into potions, salves, or just bake cakes.
* Brew and ferment your own alcohol.
* Browse shops that randomly stock themselves with various items appropriate to the shop.
* Buy and manage your own shop, with or without a shopkeeper hired to create items for you.
* Write your own books.
* Construct or buy a vehicle to drive, fly, or sail in, even spaceships and submarines.
* Watch your back on Mezulbryst, the deadly playerkilling world where anything goes.
* Never wait for a re pop again, mobs only exist right where you want them!
* Randomly generated mobs and equipment. You never know which mob will have a powerful artifact.
* Named mobs get random names. Every time it's a different character.
* Mobs that will react to your socials in a logical way, and use equipment and fight intelligently.
* Venture on quests to gain experience, gold, and talent points to raise power in talents.
* No random quests. Most quests are run by NPC's with different problems, and not all involve killing something.
* The only rule is: So long as it harms no one, you may do as you will.

The following is a tutorial I created (Illustrated by screenshots) on how to connect my MUD, or any MUD in general.

First of all, you need to download a special client (Although you can use Telnet, you should not as most MUDs are pretty much unplayable in it).

The one we are going to use, is Mushclient. It works on any version of Windows (If you are using Linux or Mac, post in this thread and I will give you a link to a good client for that platform).

Download it here: Mushclient

Once you install it, go into the folder you installed it to, and fire up MUSHclient.exe.

Once it shows up, close the tip of the day, and on the top menu bar choose 'Connection' and then select and press on 'Quick Connect'.

[img=http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8363/ss1vg5.th.jpg]

In 'World Name' Type in: Erandia MUD.

In 'TCP/IP Address' type in: zeno.biyg.org

In 'Port Address' type in: 2500.

[img=http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/4853/ss2cq1.th.jpg]

Then click on 'OK'.

Now simply type in 'NEW' to create a new character, and follow the instructions presented.

When you are in-game, simply type in 'Newbie MESSAGE' to send a message to all those currently attending the Newbie channel.

Have fun!

Re: Places To Roleplay ( )

Postby Bedlam on Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:13 pm

Set a few months after the events at Alkali Lake (X-2), a rumor has started spreading about the humans making a “cure” for the mutant problem. It has not yet been discovered whether this rumor is true or not. Many questions are in the air about how this rumor was started and, if it is true, who is making this “cure”.

Xavier and his X-Men are trying to get their lives back together after the loss of Jean Grey. Some of the X-Men and their students have already moved on with their lives while some are still mourning and lingering the death of Jean Grey. For the most part though, things have gotten back on track for the school. However, a new enemy has appeared that has got the Professor spooked. Whoever this new foe is, his or her motives and identity have been hidden in the shadows.

The Brotherhood has been slowly but surely gathering its forces since their leader has been freed from prison. Magneto more determined to see his goal of mutant domination come to full fruition, especially since the rumor of the “cure” appeared. More concerned about the “cure” then Xavier seemingly is, Magneto and his Brotherhood have been trying to figure out the source of the “cure” to destroy it before it destroys them.

A war is brewing... which side will you choose?

Postby mint-chan on Wed Jul 23, 2008 11:09 am

Hey all ^^

There's two role playing sites that I'm working with at the moment. One has been established for a while, the other is brand new.

The older site is One Dream, a roleplaying site for pirates, marines, and bounty hunters. Join a crew or division, eat a devil fruit, and hunt for treasure or prices put on different pirates' heads. Here is the link: http://z7.invisionfree.com/One_Dream/index.php?act=idx

The brand new site is a Pokemon roleplay called The Pokemon Experience. Here you can start from any region you wish, and pick out your own starter pokemon, as long as it isn't an evolved form or a legendary. Battle for badges or ribbons, join other trainers on their journeys, and try to be the greatest pokemon trainer who ever lived! Here is that site: http://z9.invisionfree.com/Pokemon_Expi ... hp?act=idx

Both are text-based rps, and both will give you a lot of freedom as to what sort of character you wish to have. Please check us out, we're always looking for more members to come and have fun! ^^

Grendel's Revenge ( )

Postby Mazu on Wed Jul 23, 2008 11:37 am

Hi, I'm Mazu.

I've been looking around for RPG forums that share my interests so that I might show them mine. I sincerely hope that I am not offending or upsetting anyone by talking about this here, But I play a game called Grendel's Revenge. It's a game where you, the player, get to play as the monster. In most RPGs you get to play as the young, teenage hero with super-latent powers (includes amnesia and one dead family) who starts out in a small village and sets out on an adven -- blah blah blah. In Grendel's Revenge you get to play as the monster who eats said teenage-super-latent-power-induced hero. Grendel's Revenge starts you off in a very in-depth character creation page. You choose from three castes (Chimera, Undead or Humanoid). From there, you will then choose if you would like to become a Social Monster or a Wandering Monster.

Social Monsters
As a social monster, you have the option to join and build clans with other social monsters. From there, you may build your "lair"; a home for your fellow minions and clan mates to live and store your massive numbers of resources and items. A lair is 100% customizable. You choose where to place it, and it's layout. Monsters of the builder role will build your lair for you, trap it, mine resources for it, and more!

Wandering Monsters
As a wandering monster you roam the lands taking what you want, when you want it. You will start off as a little monster, but as you grow and gain Grendel's favor, you will have the option to change into stronger, greater monsters. Wandering monsters evolve in tiers. There are a total of seven tiers of transformation, giving you much to choose from. Wandering Monsters do not get lairs, but instead have hidden dens in which they live in, store items, and protect as their own territory. They even gain a boost in FP (Experience) by training near it.

I am not part of the Skotos Staff or of GR's. I'm just a player like many of you. I can honestly say I've heard a lot of cool ideas for games, but none like this. One of my larger pet peeves is finding a good game with a great concept to play, only to find it was something like an internet browser game. Grendel's Revenge is a fully coded text-based game with it's very own client. Here, take a look:

Image

Image

Please, try out the game. You may like it, and I look forward to having more wonderful role players join us.

I have absolutely no intention of posting and ditching. I'll continue to watch this post, so please, if you have any questions feel free to ask me!

You may find Grendel's Revenge at http://www.Skotos.net/games/grendel and I hope to see you there soon.

Hey guys!

http://www.aeverse.com/index.php Aeverse is a place where mature writers who wish to write, can do so without a lot of distraction and drama. This site and Aeverse are my preferred places to roleplay these days, although Darkrealmz is pretty hot too.

All in all, what I want in a site is good writing. I've also been talking up this site to my other friends there as well.
