Please, RPG: Ink my sword! ( )

Postby Matthew on Thu Jul 31, 2008 7:48 pm

This is a scan of a sword I've drawn - I've gone for the "Overly sized, redundancy" look:

http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p452 ... dsacn1.jpg

Please, it'd be very appreciated if someone could add a bit of colour. I'm not bad at line art - but shading and texture? Don't even ask...

Just go to the link - save the image and use anything in from your editing arsenal to shape this up! Any responses will be a real shock to me - so please: Give me lots of 'em to cure my hiccups of "less than satisfaction" (concerting the art piece you pervert ¬.¬)

If you want to kill a man with words you could always try beating him to death with a dictionary :P

OK, I have a version I did, but I can't upload it. Give me your email and I'll send it to you.

what do you mean you can't upload it? Like you don't know how? or your pc's not letting you?

pessimistic and suspicious as this may sound: sorry dude, i don't just hand out my e-mail...believe me, all it takes is the address and in a few hours, BOOM! You're in their account checkin' their private shit.

I'm not trying to implying at all that you're that type of person. just use this method of upload:

(1) Go to this site: http://imageshack.us/

(2) Upload your pic straight from your pc.

(3) once it's completed the up load, copy the "Direct Link to Image" text. and paste it here (the text in the box is the web-address of the image you've got floating around cyberspace.)

And there it is: a link to the image.

Thing is, I don't have a pc. I have Puppy Linux. But hey, it'll probably work...

I usually use FireFTP, but that's only on my good computer.

OK, it worked.
The second one has highlights on the main blade, but they make it look kinda puffy. The tarnish on the gold plating is better though. I tried to do tarnished silver, but you know how that looks kinda oil-stain-ish? Well, I'm working on that. If there's anything you want me to change, just holler.

A Job well done ( )

That's great! The colour, the texture and you were even able to pick out the parts of the sword that follow a trend underneath the other parts. I particularly like the photons drifting off the back of the sword's blade - and the tarnished effect of the hand guard and the cog were a real nice touch. Overall I'm real pleased with the way you did it - thanks man I owe you one :D

As a matter of fact: I got something more complicated and bigger that I've just drawn up. Check it out in my new thread I'm making :)
