After a moment of thought, Jonothan went back to leaning against the nearest rock or tree and watching the others, now accompanied by 'Avalanche' as he had decided to name the Geodude. The Geodude seemed happy enough, Jonothan seemed mostly flat as usual. He closed his eyes, mentally he worked out how long it should take the enemies to begin chasing them, and therefore how much longer they could afford to rest.

The result wasn't exactly the answers he wanted, with the injury on .... whatever that girls name was's leg. They should start moving again soon if they wanted to have a 70+% chance of total escape. Time was always essential. He paused his thinking as suddenly a new variable entered. A girl on a bike. Headed towards the place they were fleeing from.

Two answers that immediately sprung to the mind of the young and new trainer was that either she was an enemy, or a good enough trainer to hold the opposition for a bit. Maybe an aide to the person that'd had the roof fall in on him? Either way. "Mostly. The girl over there has an injury." His voice is mostly monotoneous, and he silently taps himself on the head for sounding so absolutely bland. That was not a way to indicate the possible urgency of the situation.

Attika glared at the older man for being called Addie and was about to speak when a number of things happened. First, she realized, she was really hurt, that the pain was really bad, but she made herself appear as calm as possible. Next was that a woman came riding down the road on a bike, and she immediately thought her to be a danger, an enemy. So she remained quiet, until the other boy, who seemed to always not care, never be surprised, spoke up.

Attika looked down at her Ralts, Darla who seemed to be frowning thoughtfully at her, then at the woman with the bike. Attika sighed and gritted her teeth "I'm fine really" She said the the monotonous boy. "It's just a little splinter." She said with a smile. A splinter that hurt, and made her skin crawl from looking at it, but she knew she would be okay, she could handle a wound like this.

Of course, it looked bad, shoved deep into her leg, she wasn't trying to be brave, or anything of the such, she simply didn't want to appear weak, vulnerable, or anything of the such. She was tough, and could handle pain, she didn't want to slow the group down any, not with an enemy possibly trailing them, so she would pull the stick out, and wrap her scarf around the wound and have it treated properly when the time was right and they weren't in immediate danger.
I think I’ll blow my brains against the ceiling, and as the fragments of my skull begin to fall, fall like pixie dist to your tongue just think happy thoughts.

The woman just sort of raised her eyebrows, looking at Jonothan in a mildly confused manner. His monotone seemed to suggest horrifically dry sarcasm but for whatever reason she couldn't tell. It was as if he were somewhere on the border, leaving her with little to go on except an intelligent guess. She then turned to glance at Marrion who seemed to be... Well, she wasn't sure exactly what was going on there, to be honest. The group did seem pretty odd. After a moment she turned her attention to Attika, seeming to push the questions she had for what had just happened out of her mind. She figured it wasn't important.

Cassia: "My name's Cassia."

Cassia winced as Attika started trying to treat the wound on her own. At this point she was convinced that the group was quite odd. Her expression turned to one of concern. Was this girl really trying to deny her help? It seemed a bit crazy to her. She simply didn't understand why that would be necessary.

Cassia: "Splinters tend to cause infections, y'know. I have a first aid kit here on my bike. I could have you cleaned up in no time."

She motioned to the basket on her bike. She didn't seem overly concerned about getting to James Town quickly, for that matter. One would've probably expected her to be in some sort of rush if they were heading to a fight of that magnitude. What were the odds of her even knowing about the conflict at James Town to begin with?

Jonothan had to wonder. The absolute lack of urgancy suggested that something else than the original projections was the case with this girl. Unless, of course, she was an enemy and knew that the fight was going in her teams favour, and wanting to hold up the runaways for as long as possible to allow her associates to catch up.

That was always a possibility, and he would keep it in mind. "She does need the injury fixed. I'd assumed you'd be in a hurry to help protect James Town." He comments, still in that same old flat voice. Meh. Emotion wasn't really important to the question, though it would certainly have made him feel better about it. His hand rested casually on the Geodude sitting next to him. It was a rock of comfort, something that didn't seem to overly care about his inabilities regarding emotion.

No pun intended, of course. He hadn't dealt with Pokemon before, and didn't know what to make of 'Avalanche'. He would have to find out as he went, although he'd always prefered prior knowledge than trying to deal with something you didn't know too much about. The knowledge he had was merely on what the cabalities of the Pokemon were, it was extremely hard to understand them, as every one was different.

Attika gave a short puff as she finally pulled the stick out, gritting her teeth then dropped the blood soaked stick next to her foot in an almost defiant manner. She didn't want to trust the woman. Her appearance was all to, coincidental, and Attika hated coincidences with a strong passion. Her ralts, Darla gave small squeak dodging the stick when Attika had dropped it then circled around her to stand on her other side. Attika gave it a small glance then looked at her wound and nearly cringed.

Before when it had only been a small trickle of blood, now blood was streaming from it. She gave a groan then looked up at the woman, Cassia. "Fine, help me, I suppose it wont hurt to bad." She grumbled then looked over at Jonothan and became oddly jealous of his calmness, the way he was so composed, so uncaring. The way he talked made her slightly uncomfortable, as if her were an automan, but she still respected him which she didn't usually do with people she didn't know to well.

She gave a 'whatever' shrug and patted Darla on the head slightly watching as more of her blood drained from her head, making her feel dizzy and light headed.

Cassia was visibly upset at Attika's decision to remove the stick in her knee, less so than the resulting fountain of blood. Without a second thought, she got off her bike and started unpacking the first aid kit, then motioned to Tristan, the one with the slightly used Running Shoes. "You, there's a berry garden I passed on my way here, go run ahead and get help there. The other two, help me keep her steady while I wrap this up. As for you, little Miss Accident Prone, you either let me do this for you or you pass out from shock, your call."

Technically, she couldn't do anything until Attika gave consent to being treated, but if they were going to get her to the house up the road for proper bed rest, she needed to be stabilized first, and that required consent as long as she was conscious. As she located the antiseptic, cotton swabs, gauze, bandages and gloves she would need for something so seemingly simple, she noticed the Pokemon that accompanied these people. "Man, and I thought Trainers were supposed to know how to take care of themselves out in the wild, yet here you guys are, pulling out embedded objects. You must be new to this...tell you what. After we get her patched up, I'll give you a couple of pointers, and I think the person that tends the berry patches might be able to pass on some hard-earned advice as well. You're going to need all the help you can get at this rate." An involuntary shake of her head at this last sentence accompanied the SNAP of a pair of latex gloves.

"Do we have a deal or what?"
How long will he keep on fighting? How long will his pain last? Maybe only the X-Buster on his hand knows for sure...

Marrion peeked from her newly acquired pokemon and looked at the small commotion the group was starting up. She noted that the girl, 'Cassia' apparently, had noticed that her temporary companion Attika -whom she had just recently relearned the name of- had quite a large splinter sticking out of her. Even Marrion with her minimalistic knowledge of first aid knew that it wasn't good to leave it in her.

Placing her slightly dizzy Azurill on the ground she crawled over to Attika and tentatively placed her hands on the girl's arm. With a voice just notches above a whisper Marrion voice her opinions, "I-If it's not treated it might get infected."

Attika tensed ever so slightly as Marrion touched her arm. She forced herself to not shrink away from the girl seeing as she might be seeming more of her. Her jaw tensed ever so slightly and she looked back at the woman, Cassia who was bustling about her first aid kit.

She gazed at the woman a moment more then nodded. "Fine." She mumbled and moved her hands from her wound to let the woman get better access to the blood flowing from the wound. She looked back over to Marrion and gave her a tentative smile looking pale and sick. "I'm a bit of a clutz." She told her trying to joke and make the situation a little lighter.

Jonothan chose to stay quiet at this stage and follow along. Some berries would certainly be appreciated at this stage of the journey, although hurrying to Kingstown would be better. However, the injury would likely cut that approaches bonus' quite significantly. Hence the need to take this route.

Well, it wasn't like he could predict and deal with all the problems that came the groups way, and since no-one else was doing it he might as well stand up and make sure the others kept safe. Necessity brought unlikely things to happen. Injuries would hamper them the longer they kept untreated. "Sounds fine to me." He replies flatly, seeing nothing wrong with the plan, and due to his lack of knowledge of the area he could not propose a more efficient one anyways. Then the question of whether the girl knew what was actually happening came back. And he had to wonder.....

Cassia seemed somewhat relieved. No more silly games! She could get on with the treatment without further worry. She still couldn't help but wonder what in the world had caused the group to behave like this. She had her guesses, but most of them were based on paranoia. What if they were outlaws or something? Regardless, she payed her paranoia no visible heed as she walked on over towards Attika.

Meanwhile, Jonothan would find that there was nothing in sight to indicate they were being followed. Perhaps it was simply the case that the group that had attacked their home town hadn't been looking for them. After all, why would they be? Surely if there was an organized force dedicated to hunting down and killing everyone they would've been made a bit more aware?

Cassia would get down on her knees as she reached Attika, sitting on the back of her feet. She would then go about cleaning the wound with disinfectant, which would probably sting quite a bit. After several methods of cleaning were gone through she would begin bandaging up the wound. She looked up at Attika and back down at the wound.

Cassia: "It's alright. I'm not sure you should be walking around with that though, because it's on your joint..."

Cassia was a bit concerned that if Attika simply went on traveling by foot it would undo a lot of the work she had just done. She began to think about what she had seen so far. She didn't get the impression that they were coming /from/ Kingstown. Though she couldn't be sure.

Cassia: "Are you on your way to Kingstown?"

Attika winced and bit her lip. The disinfectant stung like hell. Attika growled in pain and forced herself not to jerk back.

She regarded Cassia for a while after her wound was all bandaged. "Thank you..." She grumbled then sighed. "What am I supposed to do? Walk around on one leg?" She asked almost sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I'll be fine, it's just a little wound."

"As for heading to Kingstowne, yes, I think that is where we are going. What's it matter to you?" She asked frowning then glanced down to the pokemon that placed it's hands on her arm looking up at her with what must have been a tentative smile. Attika smiled back down at the Ralts then back to Cassia.

"How far is Kingstowne from here?" She asked with a slight tilt of her head. She could see that it was starting to get later and she knew how dangerous the wilds could be at night, worse than they were during the day.

Jonothan was cautious, always cautious. Of course he would plan as if the worst was happening and the group would be after them. The likelihood that it was was actually low, but the fact that it was possible made him plan. He was somewhat pessimistic, so he acted like it. Or, fatalistic may be a more apt explanation.

He looked straight at Cassia, no longer fully wondering and now sure he had an answer. "You don't know what's happening in Bridgetown." It wasn't a question, it was a flat, hard, statement. No emotion tinged the voice, except perhaps a touch of certainty. But Jonothan didn't consider that one an emotion.

It would have been funny, considering. The flat almost golem-like voice belonging to a trainer that had the most golemish Pokemon in Geodude. Fitting perhaps? Well, it certainly could be seen so. He ignored all else as he watched Cassia. How would she react if she knew what had happened.

Marrion let out a soft breath as she leant backwards, placing her hands upon the grass, her heart beating rapidly as she did so. Marrion wasn't one to talk much and at times had issues with it to the point of panic attacks, but, almost as if she was physically dependent on it, the presence on a water pokemon seemed to help her along.

As she still reeled from her 'outburst' earlier, Marrion just tried to fade back out of notice until the others dealt with the strange girl.

Cassia finished wrapping up Attika. "It's fine, you can walk a little bit on that leg. I know of a Berry farm a little ways from here, you can see King Town from there. But this is when the Pokemon come out to hunt." She then caught the whiff of smoke from Jamis Town as the wind shifted. "Oh, Arceus, it smells like someone's burning their garbage, I can smell it from here."

She went to get on her bike. "Come on, I'll show you where the farm is, bandage-girl can lean on one of you strong, able-bodied men for support, right? When we get there, you guys can cool your heels and load up on supplies." Not waiting for an answer, she started pedaling slowly to the northeast, hoping these four would have the common sense to follow her. They seemed hurried, almost as if they were thrust into their current circumstances instead of throwing themselves headlong into the adventure of a lifetime. For their sake, she hoped they were going to find the strength and courage within themselves to be all right.

If any offence had been taken at the new nick-name, Tristan new nothing of the fact. His attention had gone quickly from the current topic to the newcomer on the bike. The first aid kit was welcome sight: he needed some antiseptic cream for his now-blistering feet [as well as some aspirin for the inevitable headache after the adrenaline wears off]. They could also help that Addy girl and -- wait, what was she doing to the splinter now? Tristan winced as she stupidly removed the invasive presence on her own. Did she not see the person that was so conveniently well-equipped to handle it better? Not really knowing how to respond he just shook his head and went with the usual “Heh~”

Well, at least the bike girl [he didn’t quite catch the name. ‘Cassie’, was it?] insisted non dressing the wound and -- wait: she wanted him to run ahead for help? With his feet blistering as they were he couldn’t very well do that, especially not after sprinting mindlessly to his current location. He waved his hand and shook his head to signal that such wasn’t possible. Tristan was getting too old for this shit.

At this point it was getting near impossible to ignore his shinx any longer. The scamp was clawing and biting, pulling at his sleeve: it wanted to play. “Well ain’t we happy to be out in the open?” Tristan admired the young Shinx’s energy, scratching behind his ears. Tristan got up and decided to keep him out of the pokeball, telling himself it was for the little guy’s enjoyment and not the stress and high nerves he had from seeing that Matt guy not make it back.

The bike girl had made another request. This one Tristan knew he could be of assistance. Feeling bad for skipping the earlier request he made his may over to Addy. “A’ight kid, hop on.” he bent his knees slighty and made motion for her to get carried... piggy-back style. Of course, if the stubborn girl refused again this would all just be very awkward for all parties involved. Oh well, Tristan should be used to that.
Maybe you are right, and this world isn't anything special after all.
But as familiar sights look different when seen from on high--as even when it's raining, blue skies spread out above the clouds--don't you think that the way you view the world changes depending on how it is perceived?
O, what a wonderful world! Even if it's a lie, if you believe it, maybe you'll feel happier than yesterday. Right?
Good or bad or something amazing: it isn't about what you do; it's about living without regret. That's it.

Attika frowned as the older man, the one who had called her Addy told her to get up. Shock caused her to miss most of everything that Cassia was saying. Her wound still hurt, but less so now that the bleeding would surely stop. She gave a huff, not wanting to disobey, her leg hurt and she wasn't even doing anything.

The adrenaline gone, the pain there, she saw no alternative. Quickly, to avoid any long weight on her bad leg she heaved her self up and teatered slightly on her good leg and the toe of her other foot. Her Ralts, Darla, gave a curious glance then a small squeak. She let her self get steadied and let the small yet sharp pain that pulsed in her leg die before she hobbled a little closer to the man.

She was thankful she wasn't that heavy a girl at all. It would really make her feel worse had she been a fat clutz. 'Course, she still felt bad, but she would find a way to repay the man in some way for the help he offered.

"Thank you." She mumbled as she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck and made it easier for him to stand with her now on his back. They both stank like smoke, but it didn't bother her. It wouldn't be long before they were all separated and back in their own lives. Darla gave another squeak looking up at Attika. She glanced down at her pokemon and frowned.

"You hush up and follow along nicely ok?" She told Darla who nodded and gave a small and another squeak, a little louder this time. "Thank you Cassia..." She said, hoping the name was correct.
