Rictorville, a large but isolated town has a culture that includes necromancy. There, the citizens know it like a friend. The spirits and souls walking about take a fraud solid form of whatever they choose to be/whatever they are asked to be/whatever is the best form needed to complete the task asked of them. Most of them hate humans, for humans can cause them great pain by their simple touch. Spirits and souls treat the earth like a pain that will never be tamed. They wish they were unphysical again, they want to be undone, they want to sleep.
Once a child (who has at least one guardian who has a profession in necromancy) is declared mature enough by their parents, they are allowed to start basic homeschooled lessons that last about two years on necromancy besides normal school activies. By the end of these lessons, they would know how to summon an imp (a lesser spirit) by heart with the use of the most basic summoning circle, which looks like a simple target, and have memorized several important books on Necromancy. In the textbooks are ways to distinguish a spirit/soul from a true being (something that has always been alive) and how to defend yourself from one. Also at the end of their lessons is a test mailed by the government of Rictorville. If the student gets every answer correct, they are allowed to continue the study of Necromancy at the library, as well as more homeschooled lessons.
Whenever someone does it unsuccesfully, the soul or spirit is put into the body of a human or animal, where they can easily overcome the original user and make the body their own. When they are inside a true form, physical things do not hurt them. They feel the world just as a human or animal should. But they can be smarter than that and be alongside a living human's soul inside their body, coming out and controlling only when they want to and therefore scaring the human half to death. What the spirits and souls want is to make sure that every one of their kind is safe from the evil humans, who seem to be absorbed in their own selfish wants. The only way to do this is to destroy every necromancer, every necromancing book, and every memory of someone necromancing. They are willng to do that.
Rules:
No godmoding (this includes auto-hitting)
No controlling other characters (you can have up to two)
Be literate
You don't necessarily have to be a good writer, but no one liner's and make it chunky
Keep it pg-13
And all the other's that I probably forgot =)
Character sheets (post here, and do an introduction in the IC board):
Name: (Your name, duh. But if you're playing a spirit/soul, you can only have a first name with your other names (which are like nicknames, but aren't supposed to be like Denk for Denkimahtutu or Hans for Hansellius or whatever. More like The Rock for Dwaynejohnson or Black Soul for Everto or something))
Age: (Your age. If you're a human, be under 21. I want to try to get character's who are in their learning ages so that we can have more character developement. If you're a soul/spirit you have to be over 50. That doesn't mean you act like it though. You may have died when you were 15 and have been asleep for 70 years)
Gender: (Obvious for both sides)
Human or spirit or soul: (Choose one. There is a difference between soul and spirit. Souls are PEOPLE who have died and went to the sleepy place. Spirits have always been sleeping but think like a human, though they never were. Necromancers usually summon spirits)
Abilities: (If you're a SPIRIT you're allowed to have specific supernatural powers. All the others can put down what they are good at)
How powerful: (Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how powerful you are, 10 being the highest. this is either your necromancing skills or your experience as a soul/spirit. If you're not a necromancer or a spirit/soul, then you're probably like a 1 or 2)
Bio: (Obvious)
Appearence (Obvious for human, but for spirits/souls put in your current fraud form. You can change this in the roleplay. Pictures are optional)
