Markus Limped towards the port, when before a lass stood out on front of him, a girl in her twenty's by the look of her, she gave a curtsy, and spoke

"Why, hello good sir. How do you do?"

Markus stopped and gave a smile showing his silver tongue through his lips,

"Good you say, i may seem that but that i am not" Markus laughed as he spoke drawing back the large coat he wore to reveal a Belt filled with razor sharp Knifes, from short to the large and the hilts of two scimitars stuck through his belt. "But i may say i am as good as i could be on such a day, and what about you my pretty wee lass how does the day find you?"

Police cordoned off Liverpool City Centre this morning when a
suspicious object was discovered in a car. It later turned
out to be a tax disc.

"Aye, we be hurryin' James, we be hurryin." The well dressed noble glaced about fervently, smiling wrily when he saw the tavern and turn-off they were to take. The wagon rolled past, the barrels rolling, the crates falling - All the Red Coats were on the ground, dead or dying, and the nobleman took this as his chance. Pulling James to the alley between Tavern and store, he shoved James into the shadows before the Red Coats could see him. At the end of the alley, in the shadows, stood a carriage. He grinned again, pulling the iron chain clad James towards it. Nodding to Shelte, he spoke gruffly, in a low and urgent tone.
"You drive, I can naught do such a thing for fear of causing extreme suspicion. I'll sit in the carriage with James, be sure not ter draw attention to us. If we can gi' away from all this hukus we should be safe enough. Well, as safe as we can be."
Opening the door of the carriage, the nobleman helped James up, before taking her seat by the heavily curtained window. A small gap allowed him to peak out. Glancing down, he chuckled when he saw the peice of material beneath the seat. Pulling it out, the man revealed a nuns guise, carefully modified to be worn around the shackles and chains James wore, and conveniatley hiding them.
"It once again be yer lucky day James, I been missin' our old nun." He passed the guise to James, his chuckle dying away. Knocking on the wood behind James' head.
"Hop to it lass, we naught got all day. There be a coat beside yer if yer have need of it, it may do ter hide all yer baubles an' bits."

Sheltie's eyes opened wide at the sight of the grand trap, mesmerized by the falling barrels and the net snapping into place. Her attention was drawn to the nobleman pulling James into a side alley. Quickly, she ducked into the shadows, chasing after the two until they came to a sudden halt in front of a plain carriage. At a prompt from the nobleman, Sheltie nodded and waited for the two of them to get into the carriage, closing the door behind them. Sheltie grabbed the railing and the reigns, hoisting herself onto the bench. Hearing the nobleman through the cabin of the carriage, she pulled the coat from under the bench and smiled. "We be headin' out now, it might'n be a bumpy ride," she warned, slipping the coat over her shoulders, situating herself on the bench, and lightly flicking the reigns.

The carriage started moving slowly, gaining speed to pull out of the side street onto a more main-stream one. The four dapple grey horses plodded in sync with each other, their shod feet clacking on the cobblestone street. The lead horse on the left threw his head up, nickering in protest and Sheltie pulled slightly on the reigns to keep the horse in line. Her foot shifted back, subtly tapping on the wall of the cabin. Before them stood a group of ten red coats, searching the streets in an organized line. Sheltie flicked the reigns, causing the horses to lift their feet and pick up the pace slightly. The red coats glanced at the carriage, but saw no particular reason to frisk it on first glance. The driver looked poor and in desperate need of money, the carriage looked average. The men saw no suspicious activity and moved to allow the dappled horses past.

James let out a baritone laugh as he looked over the habit, "Har-arrgh I'd be gladly wearing such a fine bit of cloth. But I be needin ye a help me dress though...Captain."

James eyed the cloaked figure, he was sure it was Elizabeth. Shrugging into the habit James flashed one of his grins and his eyes danced with a devilish light, "So me lovely and deadly Captain, where do we meet with me bonny poppet?"

Bow his head he handed the cowl to Elizabeth, "Do ye mind placing this properly upon me golden locks?"

Reaching into his bag of tricks, and running for his life, No Beard was close to being screwed. A mob was still chasing him, and he was out of ideas. William was low on ammo, energy, time, and places to run. The open sea, and the blue ski came into view, and it wasn't far away, but No Beard didn't plan further than chaos when plotting his distraction. However, he'd been in worse...

"AHH, SONOFABITCH.." A sharp feeling of pain burned within William's left arm as a musket ball entered it. He grabbed his arm with his right hand, still holding onto the bag and his pistol. "Thon hert... at least Aye get ta visit thon french lass fer this.."

No Beard was on the port's edge, and closed his eyes. Sprinting off the docks, he flew forward, and landed with a large splash. He felt the sting of the salt water in his wound, which made him wince as he swam away.

Elizabeth grinned, a choking laugh escaping her. Impulsivley she hugged her old Quartermaster tightly, grinning from ear to ear.
"James if yer ever face the hangmans noose again I'll ensure I kill ya before yer can dance tha' morbid jig!"
Gratefully, Elizabeth assisted James with the cowl, ensuring he was wearing it properly. Leaning back in her seat, she tweaked the curtain and peeked out, sighing in relief when the group of red coats ignored them.
"We'll be meetin' them in Greensbury, m'dear - there be a ship we be needin' ter catch before dawn termorra."
Calling through the carriage wall softly, Elizabeth spoke to Sheltie.
"Ye be lettin us know when we're clear of all this hukus wont yer, lass."

Twigs saw the familiar shapes of her old comrades as she was walking toward the port and then quickly looked around for a nearby horse. She smirked lightly at herself as she saw a horse tied to a post. She ran over to it and untied the horse. She jumped on the horse's back and kicked the horse's stomach. As it jumped to a gallop, she caught up with everyone. She didn't say anything as she joined them, not wanting to be left behind.

Caesar joined them just as they were leaving the city. As did an unexpected old face...Twigs. The nobleman laughed right along with the Irish fireball as they galloped along. It would have been unsurprising if they were captured and executed that very day. But they had planned carefully, their route carefully picked to give them the best advantage, their horses selected for the best speed, every little thing that could ever be planned for had been planned for. They left the red coats and the city where James would have died behind.

After a few hour's hard riding, they entered the small town of Greensbury. Not well known or highly populated, nothing really but a tiny port town that the crown scarcely bothered with aside from taxes. The perfect place for a quiet escape with a wide selection of highly wanted fugitives. What had meant to be a trio had turned into a group of five. But Twigs, Caesar, Raff, the nobleman and the lad that had helped them trotted in on tired horses. They slipped unnoticed into the tired little town, delivered their horses to a stable, and headed for the docks. With a brief exchange of coin, a rowboat was rented and used to slide out along the quiet water towards a fine sloop that was waiting like a loyal dog a hundred yards out.

"They should be there by now...they had the carriage, they must have gotten here quicker than we," The nobleman spoke, his voice laced with concern. But it was an interesting thing...the nobleman was now speaking in a sweet, young woman's voice. "I wonder if they've gotten James' shackles off yet...I'm sure they have, an' I'll be bettin' he's a mite more comfortable wivout 'is wrists all locked an' raw..."

The row boat sidled up to the ship, and a rope ladder was tossed down for those aboard it to climb up. As the noble clambered up, a small hand baring a strange golden ring grasped hold of the railing, and he hauled himself onto the deck. Then, something even more peculiar happened. The young man removed his hat and his beard, showing a pretty, smooth face. The powdered wig was lifted, and down tumbled rich brown hair that was shook out and allowed to flow well past the young woman's waist. Her eyes were bright and green and sparkling, and her grin was brighter than any midday sun could ever wish to be as she looked about for James McLeod.

"James?"

The clanging of a metal hammer finally ended as the distinct thunk of metal hitting wood. The tall, nun stood and stretched, wiping sweat from her brow the nun licked parched lips and looked at the heavy thick manacles that had held fast for the last few hours the very hands that had broken them off.

Clambering upon the deck, Sister Jamie of the Annunciation peered about the ship. The crew had an unsavory look about them, the kind of crew that sailed with a rovin commission, the kind of crew that the Ancient Brotherhood would be proud of.

Inhaling the salt air and the spray that came from the wind tickled waters, James laughed a hearty baritone laughter that carried along the deck infecting all who heard it with the joy of another day alive. Standing with his back to the gangplank he heard the voice. A voice carried by the Laird's angels themselves, to his ears.

Turning the nun spotted the hair and the eyes, the eyes of an angel. Stepping across the deck in two great steps, the nun did something very un-nun like, she wrapped her arms around the lass and spun her around, and as they stopped spinning the nun kissed the wee lass.

Raff had been the one to row the rowboat out to the waiting Fledgling. His long arms pulling the oars with ease as the boat slide over the cold water. The day had gone smashingly in his mind. He had knocked around a executioner, thrown the fact he was alive in the king's face, stolen his entertainment in saving James, killed a number of English soldiers and escaped with his life!

He climbed up the rope ladder to see a large nun swinging the "noble" around in a hug. "Well" said Raff, his right eye sparkling with happiness, left covered in a black leather patch, "Feels like old times." He grinned and swung himself onto the deck. The basket-hilted claymore slapping against his left leg.

Richelle was striving to blink away tears, and failing miserably. Her grin was still in place against the nun's kiss. Her arms were wrapped around the broad shoulders of the nun and her feet dangling a few inches above the deck as she was held up by the strapping 'woman' of the clergy. As tears slipped down the lass's rosy cheeks, she laughed as she finally pulled back to gaze adoringly into the nun's green eyes. She set her hands on either side of the holy woman's manly face, her elation lighting up the entire ship.

Two years of separation. Two years. So many days and hours and minutes that might have been spent doing who knows what, sharing endless adventures and jokes and everything that they had shared before, stolen by the crown. Now, face to face with the man she loved at last, Richelle found herself at a loss for words. She heard the order to weigh anchor given, by Elizabeth, she assumed, though she wasn't paying close enough attention to know whose voice it was. She heard Raff climbing aboard, heard him mumble something, but it was far off and distant.

Finally, she managed to awaken herself from the euphoric state and pulled back after giving the nun a fierce hug. Rubbing at her eyes with the back of her sleeve, she gave a sort of sniffeling laugh. "I...I wrote to you...donnae know if ye got any of me letters or not, but...are ye alright, then? We've proper food below decks, I'd imagine ye'd be wantin' a bit o' vittles wot don't come from a prison...we've rum, too...are ye tired? We've a bed ready for ye, or...James, I've missed ye so much!" And she threw her arms around him once more.

She was rambling, and only partially aware of it. Despite her rubbing, her tears continued to flow as though someone had forgotten to turn off the fountain.

Elizabeth dropped the wig and cloak to the floor, letting out a bark of hearty laughter as she glanced about fervertly for the bucket of water she had requested be ready when she got back. Finding it, Elizabeth did something very un-lady and un-noble like; she stuck her head in the water, submerging it completely. As she rose once more, Elizabeth shook the hair from her face.
"Aaaaahh, that be the way. I don't be seein' how those lads cin wear them things." She was of course referring to the wig, but when she saw James and Richelle reuinited at last, she trailed off and grinned broadly.
"That be a sight I've been longin' ter see, fer many a month fer both their sakes."
The captain of the Fledgling yelled out in a jolly voice, her pleased grin spreading among the crew.
"Lads, I wan't yer ter make sure yer welcome back our Quartermaster with open arms, I pray ye'll have no trouble with takin' orders from him, will yer? Now step to it lads, we 'aven't got all day."
Elizabeth approached the railing, where they had climbed up. Calling over one of the younger members of the crew, she ordered him down into the row boat to go pick up William, who should've been showing up shortly. Turning back to face her crew, Elizabeth couldn't help but continue to smile.
"Raff m'dear, yer did a bloomin' good job terday lad."

"I could have done better" said Raff, looking over the ship with his one eye and then at Elizabeth, "Didn't kill enough of them redcoats. You and Richelle had a harder part then meself."

He leaned against the railing and kicked off the army boots. Even though he had been wearing them for two years but that alway caused his feet pain. He sighed as the boots came off. Raff reached into his waist pouch, pulled out his caubeen and jammed it on his head. Now everything was in place, even the strange emptiness that had been in his heart.

Soft blond hair covered the womans face as she sat, slumped over in her dark hardwood chair. The dark pieces of lace covering her hair in many places, each one shining dully in the lamp light....

Her chest moved slightly, the frilly white blouse moving peacefully,, and her pretty sharp features were slightly swaying with each passing breath. Her gentle eyelids closed, a small smile on her lips. Like somone who was enjoying a particularly pleasant dream.

Suddenly, loud thuds rang out in the tiny room, which was lined with various medical tools. Books and journals on a shelf, as well as a large sea-chest.

The woman's eyes opened slowly, like somone waking up for the first time... Displaying beatiful saphire eyes that glistened slightly in the dull light. She shook herself, waking up from this rest as she slowly rose up. Her long slender hands still holding a tiny silver box. Stareing at it one last time, she quickly put it on the shelf, hiding it behind a few books.

Smiling still, she made her way to the deck, still lost in thought slightly. Seeing the cause of all the commotion, her lovely smile widened slightly. "Welcome back..." she said...

Elizabeth smiled weakly at Raff, listening.
"Yer got out alive and left some of 'em dead, thats good enough lad." Seeing Raff there, her Master Gunner & Armourer, her Quartermaster and First mate, surgeon and the rest of her crew there, on the Fledgling, reunited, was enough to make Elizabeth laugh and cry at the same time, and a strangled, laughing sob escaped her reluctantly.
"Ah Raff, ye have no idea of the joy tha' fills me ter have us all tergether on the Fledgeling once more. The past two years 'ave been hard; I've missed yer all dearly."
Elizabeth smiled again, glancing about, her slate-grey stare lingering on each face in turn; then, on a larger impulse then she had felt when James figured out who she was, Elizabeth hugged Raff tightly. Stepping back quickly, Elizabeth was grateful for the tan that hid the sudden blush that rose to her cheeks.
"It seems there'll be some stories to tell..." She murmured, nodding slightly to the eye patch over his eye.

Sheltie had baulked at having to leave the carriage and its four beautiful horses behind. She longed for the sea, her heart told her that was where the young Romanie belonged, yet she couldn't help longing for the better things on land as well. James, the nobleman, and Sheltie had left the carriage in a side street and had walked the distance to the docks. The Fledgling sat, swaying gently in the cool breeze from the sea, reminding her of her place in the world.

Stepping aboard the ship, her mind ceased to think of land. The rhythmic swaying of the deck set her at ease, calming her nerves. The young woman took the driver's coat off, flinging it overboard. It hadn't been in her fashion. The woman leaned over the railing, looking down as the coat fluttered to the water below. Floating on the surface, it began to take on water and eventually drifted below the surface. Growing uninterested, Sheltie stood, turned, and leaned back against the railing, fidgeting with a silver bead on her coat. The poor garment happened to be covered in every shiny object of no worth the woman had come into contact with since the age of sixteen. Beneath her gaily decorated coat, a plain white shirt that must have surely felt rejected.

Sheltie looked up, watching the interaction between James and Richelle, a tear stinging the corner of her eye, causing her to blink rapidly. The love between the two could be felt all aboard the ship, brightening the ambiance of the ship that had been so dark just weeks before. Sheltie turned away from the happy couple and looked into the rigging, searching for a grey-feathered ball. Whistling softly, she looked for movement. An answering whistle floated down to her ears from above, followed by the flutter of wings as an African grey parrot landed on the deck next to her feet. Sheltie put her hand down near the bird, letting him step up onto her hand.

"Eko, mate, where ye been?" she asked as the parrot stared at her quizzically. Sheltie allowed him to walk up her arm and perch on her shoulder as she walked the deck, searching for something to be of assistance with.

His mind had raced the entire time. It wound, nearly, as fast as his heart pounded in his chest. They had accepted him, even rescued him. Today was his day of days! He sped along a shared horse with the nobleman. He fought his grip the entire time. Even when they arrived at this small town, his adrenaline pumped more and more into his veins. Everything was going by too slowly, yet so fast. He hardly noticed that he was on a row boat.

Now he was on a ship. Was it James’ ship? Was this it! Finally? He hadn’t noticed the nun kissing the girl, who was the nobleman. He didn’t see a parrot or people getting out of their costumes. No, he saw the beauty of a true pirate ship. There was only one thing he could do.

First, he took his bloodied rapier and cleaned it. He assured every single reflection would be visible in it once again. The next thing he attempted, was to walk into the cabin and lift his eye patch, to see if he could truly see in the dark. It only took a short moment, a loud voice echoed from the ships insides.

“IT WORKED!”

Caesar was pulling himself over the side of the vessel just as Elizabeth was hugging Raff. Reaching out with the flat of his blade Caesar slapped Raff across his rump. "Oi' mate nae you aren't going to let that pretty lass just stand thar? Kiss 'er man!" After re-sheathing his 'paddle' Caesar turned his attention over the side of the ship to the lithe form of Lilly waiting below. Reaching out his hand he spoke to her for the first time, there having been no time for chatter as they rode. "It's nice ta see ya agin me love, may I help you aboard?" Caesar's eyes twinkled as he looked down on the women he had flirted with long ago. The past two years had been rough and demanding, but he still had feelings for her.
