That finger moved on occasion, as chapter followed chapter. Each paragraph bringing with it a deep tale of legend. It was certainly an intriguing tale, one of betrayal, murder, riches, rewards. But, mostly it was the two polar opposites that caught the attention of the Captain. Still sat in his cabin, somewhere in the ocean, far from any land at all, he had been reading for perhaps three hours.
The familiar feel of the sea picking up life again almost brought to his face a smile. It would have done, had he not been reading the book. As the swaying continued, so did his reading. Lifting the finger once more, the gentle breeze that had once again resumed its journey turned the page just as gently as he would have done.
This was a chapter that was strange. It always brought about him a certain curiosity; once again, the theme of opposition was in full play. It was played over and over in this book, and although it did interest the Captain, the constant repetition of the same theme somewhat irked him. But, he read on regardless.
The opposition that was the evil force was met with an opposition of its own. Supposedly, opposition was like a circle, and would never end. An interesting concept.
The opposition to the great city of Elkab, the dark evil, was met with something also of its opposite. A band of friends, who would raise their swords against anything as evil as this... This... Well, actually, it was never elaborated upon. The book never stated what the evil was.
The finger moved once again from the corner of the book, but was more than just a simple lifting of the digit, as his rubbed his brow. Strange how he had not noticed this fact before, despite reading the book near on one hundred and fifty times.
For him, that was the joy of fiction - you always noticed something else when you read it.
As the finger was placed once more on the corner of the next page, the thin paper having been blown by the gentle wind, he resumed his literary endeavour, forgetting his musings. Discarding them as nothing more than as fantastical as the words he was reading.

Please tell me now what life is, Please tell me now what love is... Again, tell me what life is.
