Re: Expression ( )

Postby Lucy Knox on Thu May 29, 2008 1:39 pm

Jay went through the entire class just thinking of the events from this morning up until now. It was still all a bit jumbled up in her head, and she was shocked at the fact of having a date. Chris had been the only guy she ever went out with, and after that she had been a complete mess. She wrote a few poems about how she felt and pondered how the next day would go. What would she wear? Why was she thinking about clothes? 'Oh, I know. I'll ask Roz to help me pick something out' She sighed, making a mental note. Jane pretty much never fretted about what to wear, it never mattered, but she wanted something to work out. Before, there was no chance, so she didn't mind. Now she was starting to care more about how other guys saw her, but she still wouldn't change who she was.
It's not my fault that fantasy is better than reality now, is it?

Is it so wrong that my only escape is a place that I can't even escape to?

(OOC: Ack! Sorry I've been AWOL all week, it's tech week for my show so I've been in rehearsal for like 10 hours a day on top of regular courses and stuff.)

Aiden looked down at the paper and realized that they'd covered both sides of the paper completely in notes, so he pulled out a new piece from his backpack and started a new note, putting the old one in his pocket for safekeeping. He chewed on the end of his pen thoughtfully for a second and then wrote,

"I agree completely! Even though I've only known you for like an hour, I feel like I could tell you anything. Maybe we're like soul-friends or something, haha. Or maybe we were cats together in a past life." He drew a small picture of them napping together as cats, then wrote, "Anyway, what're you doing for the rest of the day? Any plans?"
"Wanna play a joke on your chiropractor? The next time he starts working on you, go limp and soil yourself."

[OOC: No prob, dude. I know what hell-week is like. =_=]

Leine took the note and couldn't help laughing at the picture. "I'm sorry, but that picture is just too cute. And today, I don't have too much planned. Gotta go shopping for some party snacks and then hook up my stereo system in Jay's room. Nothing too bad. You can come with if you want. Company is always appreciated and you can keep this one creepy bag boy away from me. I swear, he like follows me around that store." She finished up by drawing her kitty with a bass and his with a piano. Of course, it looked weird so she crossed it out and drew his as a super kitty, protecting her from creepy bagger kitty. She giggled and handed the note back to him.

Leine looked at the clock and grinned. Today, class was cut in half and they could leave early. She readied her bag and slung it over the back of her seat. The less she got to see Mrs. Neubauer, the better. She briefly wondered if anyone else had a half class this period.

Aiden wrote back, "Ugh, I know how creepy boys can be. I'd love to go with you! If he tries anything, I'll just bust a cap." He laughed and handed the note back to her, grabbing his bag and putting it over his shoulder. He'd forgotten about half class until Mrs. Neubauer started to wrap up her lecture early, and now he was excited about the prospect of getting back to his room to shower and change.

Leine laughed once she had read the note. Mrs. Neubauer had just dismissed everyone and she walked out of the room with Aiden, pulling her sweatshirt on and putting her iPod back in her ear. "'Bust a cap?' Now your talkin' my language! I've never left that classroom this awake before," she grinned at Aiden as the walked toward the dorm areas. "I'm guessing you want to shower and what not, right? That's cool. I'll be in my room, adjusting the settings of my speakers. Meet me there when your done, Room 234. If we have time, we can set up the sound system before our next class."

Aiden grinned at Leine, "Yeah, I'd like the opportunity to look trendy instead of trashy. I'll just be like 10 minutes, and then I'll come to your room for sure. If you need anything, my room number is 411. Feel free to come get me. I'll see you later." Aiden waved and then turned back to the staircase, heading for his room. He threw off his clothes as soon as he was safely in his room and stepped into the shower, closing his eyes and sighing contentedly as the water washed over his body.

Leine made it back to her own room and threw her bag on her bed, leaving her door open. Dragging out her stereo system from the closet, she attached it to the electrical plug in the wall. The sound of the bass kicking in was like magic. Making sure the volume was turned down to a reasonable level, she disconnected her earbuds from her iPod and hooked the device in with her adapter. The band she had been listening to filtered through the sound system nicely, but she wanted the sound to be extraordinary. She chose a band she knew would have some nice sounds to work with and let them play. Lyrics sounded out at a slightly louder volume than the instrumental. Now the tricky part; the bass. All bands were different and the key was finding that perfect medium that never overpowered the music, but wasn't pushed into the back. She fiddled with it a bit before coming to a satisfying adjustment. Leine placed her music back on random and listened to thirty seconds of each song. People walking by must have thought she had music ADD, but she was just testing to make sure the sound quality was excellent for each type of music. After a couple other adjustments, she disconnected the system, reconnected her buds, and placed the stereo in a box. She went to her minifridge and grabbed a water, pleased with her work.

Aiden stepped out of the shower, feeling refreshed and peaceful, and went to his wardrobe to pick an outfit for the day. Selecting a dark blue fitted t-shirt and a pair of jeans, he got dressed and left his room, searching for Leine's room. The door was open when he found it, so he stepped into the room. "Leine?" he called. "Are you in here?"

Leine could hear Aiden walk into her room and sidled behind the door before he could look around. As he walked in, she snuck behind him, debating on whether to scare him out of his skin or not. She opted out of the typical 'Boo' and instead placed her hands over his eyes. "Guess who?" she whispered into his ear. She couldn't contain the giggles though and ended up letting him go, walking back over to her mini-fridge and tossing a water his way. She just hoped his reflexes were good or she'd feel really bad about that.

Aiden nearly jumped out of his skin when Leine cupped her hands over his eyes, letting out a gasp of surprise. "Jesus, Leine, you scared the crap out of me!," he said, laughing and slightly shaken up. He caught the water she threw him with one hand and twisted the top off, grinning his thanks. "I don't suppose you have anything more alcoholic than this hidden away in there, do you?" He joked, smiling at her mischievously.

"It's barely past 10 in the morning and you want a drink? Boy, you must have some Portuguese in you," she grinned as she pulled out her half handle of Vodka and poured two shots. At his look, she smirked, "What? I take drinking very serious and one shot isn't gonna kill us. To new friendships!" She downed her shot and took of swig of her water, allowing the taste to mix for a bit. "Wow. I really needed that," she said before she turned to her desk and began writing a sticky note with instructions for Jay. It basically said that the settings were good and all that needed to be done was hooking the wires into the correct spaces. Everything was color coded, making it that much easier. She stuck the note on top of the box and was about to pick it up when she stopped. Turning on her heel, she walked back to Aiden and gave him a hug. "I told myself to do this once we were better friends, which I think we are. You know things about me that the others don't, so I consider you a very close friend now. I'm sorry about what's happened to you and what people put you though. You ever need to talk, I'm here to listen." She hugged him tighter, letting him know that she meant every word she said. "Also, you ever need me to rough anyone up, I've no qualms with bustin' a cap!" she remarked, snorting a bit.

Aiden looked at Leine incredulously as she handed him the shot. "Well, I was kidding, but what the hell," he said, downing the shot and grimacing slightly. "mmmm, that's good," he said, grinning at Leine and then taking a swig of the water to get the taste of alcohol out of his mouth. He let out a small noise of surprise as Leine wrapped her arms around him, but returned the hug, getting a little choked up at her speech and hugging her tightly back. "I'll do anything I can for you, too. Just let me know. And I'll bust as many caps as you want," he said, beaming at her.

Leine finished the hug with a final squeeze before backing up and smiling at him. "See that? One shot and I'm already starting. Bet you can't wait for that party, huh?" She walked back to the box and hefted it upon her shoulder. "Well, let's get this over to Jay's room so she can get it hooked up. That's one less thing on my list of shit to do."

The two-toned girl turned to walk out of her door, when she caught sight of a group of girls, milling about outside. They kept thowing her glances, then looking to Aiden before looking back at her. They seemed crest-fallen. Leine glared at the younger girls. "I don't remember inviting you to my room. Get outta here! Don't you girls have a class or something?" The group smiled nervously and waved as they made their way down the hall, chattering about something. "Underclassmen," she muttered as they walked out of her room. She locked the door and began heading for Jay's room.

Aiden smiled and waved hesitantly back at the group of girls, blushing furiously. "I wonder what that was all about," he muttered, looking at the floor while he followed Leine towards Jay's room. He looked back up at Leine. "So what're we doing exactly?" he asked.

Leine shrugged. "You know freshmen. Always trying to be in everyone's business. As for what we're doing, right now we're getting this to Jay's room. If she's there, we can help her hook the thing up. If not, we leave it for her. I wrote instructions down for that reason. After that, who knows? I'm not sure we'll have enough time before the next class to go shopping, so we just get to chill until then."

Before she knew it, they had arrived at Jay's room. After knocking softly, Leine opened the door and walked in. "Jay always leaves the door unlocked. Way she sees it, no one would bother stealing from her, especially with the company she keeps. They may not look it, but those three could run this school if they really wanted to," she said, referring to Roz, Mikoru, and Jay. After a thourough investigation of the room, she concluded that Jay was not there. She plopped the box down on the bed and took a seat. "So, what do you want to do?" she asked, not minding the fact that she was in Jay's room without the girl present.

After class let out, Jay headed back to her room. She was in a good mood so was listening to her cell phone since it had music in it, and easier to just carry the phone then the phone and her MP3. Half dancing-half walking down the hall, she got to her room and opened the door, jumping slightly to see someone on her bed until she realized it was just Leini and Aidon. "Oh...hi..." She said, shaking her head and taking the headphones out of her ear, placing her phone on her dresser.

Leine looked up as Jay opened the door, moving around the floor like she owned it. "Hey, Dancing Queen! We just stopped by with the stereo system for you and since you're here, we can set this up now." Leine got up and grabbed the box, walking over to a table that was out of the way but not obscured. 'Perfect.' "Do you have a plug or something around here? I think this spot will do nicely, unless you have somewhere else in mind...?" She put the box on the table and began taking the contents out, not waiting for a response. "Oh ya, and you still need to spill on all the juicy details of how you and Leo ended up on a date," she said with a grin.

Jay grinned. She couldn't help it, when she was happy she listened to happy music, when she listened to happy music she danced, it was just a chain reaction. "Yea, that's where I was going to put it." She said, although Liene was already setting it down. Jane chuckled shaking her head slightly before taking the cord and plugging it in in the socket right behind the table. "There we go!" She smiled, looking at it. "What else do we need to do for it?" Jay was slightly ignoring the question about her and Leo.

"Well, I already adjusted the settings on it for optimal sound quality, so we only have to plug the speakers into their appropriate place. Oh, and don't think I didn't notice your innocent dodging of the question. You're going to have to tell me sometime," Leine remarked as though she were talking about the weather. She didn't even bother looking at the colors as she plugged the speakers in; she had done it numerous times already. She finished and sighed, looking at Jay and crossing her arms. "Aiden and I were just gonna chill 'til the next class, maybe head over to the music room," she mentioned, looking over at Aiden. She wanted to hear him play a piece and she figured he'd be more than willing. "If you're not doing anything, you should come, tell me how Mikoru is taking to having his little sister back in the market, if you will." She grinned at the girl, waiting for the answers she felt she already knew.

"I'll tell you after tomorrow, then I'll be able to tell you how the date went as well." Jay sighed, knowing she wouldn't be getting out of it. She blushed brightly when Liene talked about her being back in the market. "Any guy in his right mind knows how close I am with Mikoru, Leo of all people should. I think he can be trusted." Or at least she hoped he could. "And no thanks, you two go ahead. I need to find something to wear tomorrow." She said simply, noticing how close her friend and Aiden were getting, and thinking that they would be a cute couple together.
