There was no chat when I registered in August of 2001, most of us were taking it to MSN.com, MSN Messenger and AIM, because there was no chat for AM or GundamWing.com - and GundamWing.com had no chat at that time, and it still has no chat.

And you can dissagree all you want, I do know, for a fact, there was no GundamWing Chat at that time, it was either AM's chat or you're just dillusional.

I believe the chat worked for about a week while the forums were up. That's it, because Roy was upset about script kiddies at the time, on the IRC server.

But then again, I know my member number in the forums. #22. It's committed to memory. Sadly.

OH WAIT. There were no forums, right? So then why are we even arguing?

When Master refers to veterans, he refers to gundamwing.com before animemetro and Roy buying it. You all remember. The great "crashes" which led to it eventually becoming a forum monster.

Yeah, I miss the good ole days.

GWC *NEVER* had forums.

Metro had forums. Metro had GWC's applet for a short period (as mentioned above) but it was still Metro, NOT GWC.

It's about how we all miss it when we used to run away at midnight to watch Gundam Wing on midnight Toonami.

does anyone remember that? Two eppies of GW in one day (even if they were reruns). We were so corny.

It's a "Broadcast" message to anyone that shows up claiming to be a Veteran from those days. That's all.

As for the topic... it kinda got lost somewhere in there.

But yeah, back on GWC... man, those were the days. I wouldn't mind having them back, but with everything that has happened since then, it's pretty much impossible to get them back to the way they were.

More than ever before, as exampled on AnimeMetro, ego flares were really what made the Fighters Corner what it was... a Fighters Corner, there was less fighting than ego flare up. Got old pretty fast, and it eventually got to the point people were being warned, banned, locked, made into outcasts and so on and so forth. I've had my hand in it, so have the other people there that pretty much killed any Chat RP there. It may make some people skeptical to participate in the RP here. Unlike AM, however, we have G (Guidance) rated forums and Unrated forums. Guided, you keep egos and such with flames and everything, as for the unrated, it's pretty near free game, though keeping it "reasonable" would be good (Reasonable as in... your post doesn't have so many cuss words that it's pretty easy to understand that all you can do it cuss).

It beats the heck out of everything being so rated that you can't so much as insinuate flaming someone and suffer some punishment that's beyond severe enough to the "crime."

Just as long as we don't have this lame limit on how many times we can cuss in the chat before being kicked out by the system. Hopefully there isn't a rate limit there either, as it's gonna suck if there is. It'd be like AIM, without the gay look.

If we can get some of the old members back, this should take off. I do have hopes, but they aren't very high, as there's members I know we can't get back thanks to previous events with other members. It's a shame, but time moves on, it doesn't really stay as it is.

Well damn, that pretty much took care of that.

As per me be'in a vet, not quite sure if i'd qualify, yet I did go to the GWC chat and fight quite a bit. I'll leave that up to the rest.

Being called a veteran makes me feel old. -.- In any case, I recall the good ol' days of gundamwing.com. I first chatted there as Sheidra and Samara, then decided on something more original and started using the name Amikira. I've been using this name ever since. When Metro came about, I hadn't been active in GW.com for a while- it took me a couple weeks to notice the change. So I ended up being member #657 as opposed to #57 or something.

As a side note, I'm Melika's sister. Younger, but taller. Muahahaha.

EDIT: Gundam Wing was on at midnight?! Well shoot. It always came on at 4:00 pm for me. I'd end up missing half the episodes since my school didn't let out until that time. If I had known it came on at midnight, I could have seen it so much more. -sniff-

Yes. A lot of us did that... I remember the RP going on hold while the users with cable TV went to watch Gundam Wing, then dying when they came back, because a couple people didn't, apparently because their parents found them.

I just joined up today.. for some reason im always one of the last vets to join.. i was #1331 to join AM.. but that was only because Andy came and told me to go there. He does that alot..
Andy should atleast know im a Vet.. less he forgot about me too

And, again, joining AM early on doesn't make you a Vet. GWC makes you a vet. If there were forums, then you're not a vet.
