Sonusai nods, and, while blushing bright red, offers the gentleman a hug, sighing. To have lost so much. At least, tis what she assumed. She wipes his tears with her handkerchief, as the wind blows a nice cool breeze.
Thwap! Thwap! "How dare you! You disobedient little whore!" Whimpers echoed through the house. "Raphael, please. I beg of thee. I really was just trying to help." The sound of a slap is heard, causing Sonusai to fall, huddled in on herself. "You were trying to help? You were doing nothing! You stood by and let them die!" A kick to the ribs, and she gasps, feeling a few ribs crack. Outside, no one would know that a devoted wife is being beaten bloody, what with the torrent of rain falling on the earth. Animals huddled in their homes, curled up for the winter months. Inside the small cottage on the edge of the woods, Raphael was having another manic episode, remembering the death of his family and friends. Twas brought on by the birth and simultaneous death of their only child. Sonusai had gotten pregnant because birth and life always made Raphael so happy, and she hoped that this newborn would help ease the tension and bring peace to their house. Alas, it was a stillborn, and Raphael blamed his wife, "I loved thee! I took care to make sure thee wouldst bring life to this world! And now the babe is dead!" Instead of feeling compassion for his wife, for losing a child, he blamed her, and beat her bloody.
Sonusai shakes her head. Twas so long ago, and yet the pain was still so raw. She runs a few fingers across the scar on her face, and sighs.
