"Get airborne, right!" Lexie called, acknowledging Geoff's instructions. She moved into position behind the monster, keeping a good distance between herself and the beast as she grabbed for her bow. When Ryo took a painful hit, Lexie took another two steps back, just for good measure.
Hitting high was no problem for Lexie, as her assigned weapon was a bow and arrows. She was quite thankful for this, as years of being a camp counselor had taught her a few things about bows. Now, the camp bows weren't nearly as fancy (or powerful) as the one on her back, but chances are she would figure it out.
It only took a few seconds for Lexie to reach back and grab the bow and an arrow. How they were fastened to her suit, she had no idea. However, just having her hand near it seemed to allow the bow to disconnect from her suit. Lexie loaded the arrow onto the sting, knowing where and how to do it as if by a magnetic pull. She held out the bow, bending her elbow to pull back the string. In one flick of a finger, she let the arrow fly, sending up in the direction of his neck. Her aim was a little off, and it instead hit the monster's shoulder. What was impressive, was the small, earthquake like cracks that began to form in the beasts armor where her arrow had lodged itself.
Lexie loaded and shot another arrow, this one landing closer to her target. Aggravated and disoriented from the barrage of attacks coming at all angles, the beast stepped back and swung a fist in Lexie's direction. Lexie stepped out of range of the first, but did not see the other one coming from her other side just as the first one passed to defend another attack. Lexie tried to flip out of the way (she is after all a gymnast), but the tip of his hand caught her left leg, connecting with her ankle and causing her to land back on the ground, a cloud of dust rising where the ranger fell.
"You weren't kidding about the wall part." Lexie groaned to Ryo as she moved her ankle, making sure the beast didn't shatter it. It hurt like hell, but seemed to at last still be in one piece. It took a moment, but Lexie finally stood, wincing when pressure was put on her injured foot.
